Rough slate this week - not a lot of exciting games. Seattle/Cincinnati is the pick of the action on Sunday. It will be an interesting test for the Seahawks offence, which hasn't been incredible to start the year but has been able to coast considering their competition. They will have to be better this week considering Joe Burrow's return to form and apparent recovery from injury - by far the most notable development from last week's action. If the Joe Cool to Chase combination is really back (how prescient was my thread title last week?! you guys don't deserve me) then look out, because despite their early struggles they're only a game back in the AFC North.

In the late window the NFL had to flex Lions/Bucs to cover the fact that the Eagles/Jets game (which was a preseason marquee fixture) has the potential to be a laugher, and things look even more grim for NBC who have the moribund Giants facing a pissed off Bills outfit. It likely will be an early night for most of America. 

The clear game of the week is the MNF title between Dallas and LA - particularly notable as the Kellen Moore revenge game. Moore was made the scapegoat for the Cowboys elimination in the playoffs, but given their even greater humiliation at the hands of the 49ers this time around, he was far from the source of their problems. The Chargers get a big boost this week with the return of Austin Ekeler, a very welcome return considering their inability to run the ball in the three games he has missed. 

I read somewhere so far this season the Browns defense rank number one😵 a test for Brock Purdy.

They are definitely a lot better under Jim Schwartz but this is largely because of their schedule; facing a 25% healthy Burrow, then the Steelers and Titans who are very offensively challenged. Then their last game against the Ravens was basically a throwaway because DTR was just not ready to play. 

Watson is out again this week and PJ Walker is going to start, so I don't see this being much of a contest. 

With tomorrow being Friday the 13th and all, I have a feeling that we get the rebirth of the YUNG JOKA tonight.

What’s up with these receivers though? Real talk.

Idk why but I just can’t help loving Toney. I think it’s his goofiness or something. Idk. He seemed to be a big part of their gameplan tonight yet nothing worked. Kind of scares me for his future outlook to be honest. I don’t even know if he’s a receiver though or just a gadget player. It’s all short passes.

Rice has been their best. He needs more work going his way.

My highlight from tonight was the play when he gave up chasing Wilson on a scramble and just pointed at a guy in the secondary to make the tackle instead. It was the perfect summary of what was essentially a complete waste of time football game, the Chiefs basically running a scrimmage to try and work out their WR situation, with Denver completely unable to do anything on offence. Under 100 yards passing by a QB is almost impossible in 2023 but Russ managed it. 

These morning games are just wild to be up for.

Why is there a game on this early? Are they doing London games every week now? Haven’t there been 2 already?

That’s the thing it’s like when they put a team in Cali the first time you got to have another team close by for a rival and it makes more profit with at least 2 games per team locally. This is why NFL kept the 49ers from the AAFC in 1950 for the Rams to have at least one 1 road game that wasn’t across the country.

Not just that but no DJ Reed either for the 2nd week in a row, Eagles luck out so bad with this. Brandin Echols who is the backup CB is also out which means it's Bryce Hall our CB5 as the top CB and ex Eagles CB Craig James getting the start off the practice squad vs DeVonta Smith & AJ Brown. This will be such an aerial attack if the Eagles O-Line is as good as advertised.

Going to be a rout most likely, shame because I know CM Punk'd wanted to see the Jets beat the Eagles for the 1st time ever in franchise history.
