We've had a few average slates this season but this week looks like a beauty.

A week ago TNF would have looked like a terribly unappealing affair, but with the arrival of Will Levis it suddenly has some real intrigue. The banana-peel-eating maniac out of Kentucky became just the third QB in history to throw for 4 touchdowns on debut. Tonight we get his second act, was the explosive debut simply a fluke or was his deep passing to Nuk Hopkins a harbinger of what's to come?

Germany gets very lucky with the huge Miami/KC matchup - a game that I think is surely better than any fixture the UK has received over the years? The Chiefs are coming off a quite humbling loss to Denver, as things continue to bottom out for their offence. Miami have had a stark split in their performances this season, easily taking care of teams they should beat, but falling short against other playoff sides. Will they be able to break that trend this time?

There are only three late games this week to clear the deck for the NFC East showdown between Dallas and Philadelphia. Both teams are coming off rousing performances, the Eagles putting distance between themselves and everyone else in the conference on the back of an AJ Brown masterclass, while the Cowboys returned after their bye with their best offensive effort of the season. 

The big hitters keep coming on SNF with the marquee Buffalo/Cincinnati matchup. The Bengals victory over the 49ers last week was one of the most notable performances of the season so far, a clear statement that with a returned-to-health Joe Burrow, they are absolutely back in contention. The Bills haven't been firing on all cylinders, and their lack of confidence in the current roster was indicated by quite a bit of activity this week, signing some veteran free agents and making a trade for Rasul Douglas to reinforce their thin secondary. Lose this game and Cinci will jump them in the standings, almost unthinkable considering where the Bengals were to start the season.

MNF rounds out the week with another intriguing game, San Francisco on an almost unthinkable three game losing streak after their dominant opening stanza desperate for a win, while the Chargers righted their ship with a comprehensive demolition of Chicago, with Justin Herbert looking much more like himself following a couple of average (for his lofty standard) games. San Francisco made the biggest move at the trade deadline, just as they did last season, acquiring former DROTY Chase Young in an attempt to give their suddenly underwhelming defence a boost.

Think we are due with a Brandon Staley MNF blunder, I can just feel it. NYJ always plays their games close(Minus the Cowboys beat down), and I can just see Staley mismanaging the game clock or something hairpulling. Jets need this game for tiebreaker purposes honestly, won't be easy but if they've taken down Hurts/Allen and nearly Maholmes, Herbert isn't an exception.

I was reading that SF thing thinking to myself that I was in the Twilight Zone. No lie. My brain was spinning.

We have some of the worst QB showdowns this week too. I really thought @admin, was going to talk about those match ups and the possibilities of shit shows.

I'm a glass half full kinda guy! Why talk about Clayton Tune, PJ Walker and Jaren Hall when we've got Burrow vs Allen?!

Even if you limit it to just the 1pm games Seattle vs Baltimore is a pretty appealing-looking game between two teams that are both on the second tier. Plus it's the Geno-off between Smith and Stone, the latter not getting enough buzz for leading the league in picks so far this season.

A genuinely fun game tonight, Levis's stat line won't look great to anyone who didn't watch, but he absolutely passes the eye test. Good decision making, calm under pressure, nice touch. It's hard to believe the reports on him from preseason were so negative, he definitely doesn't look like a rookie.

He was let down by some terrible playcalling on the drive after the Steelers took the lead, they had the ball at midfield after the kick return and their OC proceeded to call a janky end around on first down, and then two straight runs up the middle. He'd been throwing the ball so well it made absolutely no sense to take the ball out of his hands there, especially considering the field position.

Pittsburgh's offence looked a little bit better than usual tonight, Jaylen Warren had a nice game and getting Johnson back is obviously a difference maker. Pickett is playing injured so that cuts him a little bit of slack but he missed a lot of throws tonight until putting it together late on. It has all the makings of another Tomlin grinding the team to a 9-8 season even though they're really not much good.

Pickens definitely needs to work on that toe drag swag.

And the Steelers find a way to win. Matt Canada is in a good situation, since the Steelers won't fire him (because they generally don't fire coaches), but he's so bleh at being OC no other teams want him as their HC.😂

Chiefs doing a nice job against the run so far, which I’m not surprised to hear was a point of emphasis for the defense. Thought about the Super Bowl game plan where the Chiefs took away the Eagles RB’s and made Jalen make plays (l against man coverage (which he of course did).

Might be time to call the Dolphins pretenders. Dominated by Buffalo and Philly and now KC giving them the business.

We got us a game now. Wilson and Mostert's TDs have made it a one-score game.

Only Joe Barry comes out and plays two high shell against a Brett Rypien and Darrel Henderson led offense.

Pretty uninspiring stuff to get us started in Houston. The Texans cough the ball up after completing third and long. The offensive line is beyond patched up at this point. This is a big test of Stroud’s composure against a talented defensive line in Tampa Bay.

Great drive from Stroud. Had some help from a really dumb (and dirty) roughing penalty on Barrett but laser precision for most of it. Good stuff.

Chiefs offense remained a mess, but a win is a win and the Chiefs defense feels way more legit now after playing the number one offense in football like that.

Texans run game is non-existent. That won’t put Slowik off though. He’s quite happy to send Pierce and Singletary into a brick wall on second and long.

Jon Runyan Jr. Is a complete retard. Twice on 4th and inches he’s LINED UP offsides and cost us the 1st down. I haven’t seen offensive offsides twice in the last 20 years.

Down two possessions now. Texans haven’t come back from two possessions down since 2018. Getting hammered in the run game on both sides. I knew there would be glaring weaknesses still, one draft can’t fix everything, but I had confidence the coaching staff could coach some guys up. It would be a big disappointment if the Texans are 3-5 with this soft a schedule, especially with Stroud playing well. A long way to go in this one, though.

Right let’s go Texans. Get Howard out of there, worst guard I’ve seen in Houston colours. Get CJ some time in the pocket. Receivers are not getting open so it’s going to need to be eye of the needle stuff.

Even more tragic is the Jets QBs get hit by the knees or shot in the head and haven't gotten a roughing the passer in almost 2 years! :lol:

I am rooting for Washington to win this. Not because lolpats(If anything I want them to screw emselves out of a high pick or be forced to trade draft capital away) but because of this call. It's tied at 17-17!

Mike Edwards for the Chiefs got the same penalty and a fine after the game for a very similar sack a few weeks back. The “landing on the qb” penalty is so silly.

Meanwhile the Dolphins are spiking Patrick Mahomes when he’s out of bounds today.

Texans are now going for 2 point conversions in any situation due to a kicker injury. Can’t fault these guys too much even if they lose this one. This injury situation is becoming very tough.

This game is a comedy of errors by both teams. Packers have played much better overall but keep killing the selves with mistakes.

Singletary just went for nine yards. I got shivers.

Most unfortunate I am picking up 3 different games today over the antenna and not one of them is the team wearing my state flag

That sucks.

Actually a pretty decent game. Stroud just went deep to the end zone for six after completing 3rd and 11 earlier in the drive. Texans missed another 2 pointer so it’s a one point advantage for the Bucs.
