Miami had a total wtf few minutes to fall short in their attempted comeback. Mostert was ripping off nice runs so McDaniel took the ball out of his hand, and Tua completely faltered. I doubt Chiefs fans are feeling much better despite the win, their defence continues to be elite but the offence still looks very ordinary. It's weird because I don't think anyone can really work out what is going wrong, just seems like a little bit of everything.

Baltimore is the other team with an elite defence, but they look absolutely superb all around. Their win last week against Arizona was nothing to write home about, but either side of that they have taken two decent NFC teams behind the woodshed. Lamar's stat lines haven't been catching anyone's eye (mainly because Gus Edwards is vulturing the TDs) but he is playing better than ever at the moment, and if they have found a real RB difference maker in this Keaton Mitchell kid then everyone else should be really concerned.

That game was well over by the end of the third quarter so I flipped over to Bucs/Texans to see the arrival of CJ Stroud. He's been going completely under the radar for how well he's been playing but everyone is paying attention now. Just carving up that defence for huge chucks in almost effortless fashion was incredible, and he just seemed so composed and in control doing it - the AFC now has yet another elite QB?!

My comedown after all the craziness of that ending was the latest chapter in the Giants season from hell. The only silver lining I can see is that hopefully, they are making a sufficient number of sacrifices to the football gods that the luck must turn around at some point.

SNF played out how I expected it to, I think Cincinnati is just fairly clearly a better team than Buffalo. Their QB is less mistake prone, they have a functional running game, they have a deeper group of skill players, and their defence hasn't suffered the key injury losses. The Bills are now the #9 seed and with a very tough schedule (Jets, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Dolphins) could easily miss the playoffs.

Buffalo missing the playoffs this year won’t even accomplish anything. They have so many key injuries they’ll just say “yeah well half our starting lineup was hurt all year, so run it back.”

They might as well try and make it and see if they can pull off a miracle run because nothing is going to change this off season.
