The main issue is under Saleh and co., they refuse to bend their system even if it means catering to the strengths of a player. Zach Wilson got drafted as high as he did because of the gunslinging ability at BYU, having him play as a game manager goes against any logic of letting him do anything at all. Of course he makes terrible decisions and can't process but having him just checkdown passes and trying to make him a pocket passer when he's shown in 3 years he is better on the run is the same shit they tried with Sam Darnold and saw more failures than successes. I know Darnold was Bowles/Gase but it's like rinse/repeat, if you are taking a QB that high, it's because you think they have the ability to make big plays. It's just frustrating to see Hackett try and instill his offense and refuse to work with what he has on the team. Saleh with the cornerbacks staying on an island or him going til death of the belief that his DLine work best off # of snaps instead of letting your top guns play a full series of plays.

This isn't a Boyle issue, Boyle should not even be on an NFL 53 man roster on a decent day. This goes so far beyond QB, it's a completely broken team. You can say snakebitten on the O-Line with health or that the Corey Davis/Allen Lazard retiring/bust moves sunk the WR2 onward. You can say trusting Dalvin Cook off injury would be the same was a miss. It's just the Jets truly thought an elderly Rodgers was going to get all his starts in and when that blew up Game 1, the Jets had no plan.

Joe Douglas sitting back and not making any kind of move, forget a QB signing was also a blemish. The Jags traded a mere 6th for Erza Cleveland! You can't tell me that he would have slotted in RG and been better than Newman or Glaser! We needed WR help, was Arizona or nobody willing to deal?!

Like I said in the past, what this tells me is Joe Douglas & Robert Saleh are safe for 2024 because of the Rodgers injury. Same with Nate Hackett as long as Rodgers gives him the vote of confidence. This year is a wash and punt. I just don't trust this regime in their ability to assess talent. Saleh lets his coaches call shotgun too much with little to no influence and for him to be a truly great HEAD coach, he needs to get involved more on offense, especially if he lets Ulbricht call defensive playcalling.

Dameon Pierce is a strange player. He’s a good, powerful runner, but he isn’t great at creating opportunities and finding gaps. Chiefs stsrting game like a timid team that spent all week being told how bad they are. Defense can’t do anything, three and out on first drive that went backwards.
