Fields ain’t great but he’s better than Wilson at this point and should fit Smiths system somewhat better.

Good for Fields. He needs to sit and learn without much pressure for a year. Later in the year when Wilson stinks maybe he can get a couple starts.

At least this makes Pittsburgh much more interesting to a neutral. They have been probably the most boring, uninspiring team in the league since Ben retired. This 20 cent QB combination probably won't work but at least it will be dramatic.

I actually think they’d be decent with Fields if only because he can help the running game. Fields/Najee/Pickens could be a poor man/ version of Tannehill/Henry/Brown. And they got a defense.

They’ll be idiots though and waste time on Wilson who is burnt toast.

I feel like whatever team Arthur Smith calls offense for is the most boring team. The Titans under him were hella boring, it was basically run with Derrick Henry and get AJ Brown the ball when the defense stack 8 up front. The shit worked, credit to him but still. 

Falcons was a case of negligence with guys like Kyle Pitts, Bijan Robinson and sometimes Drake London getting phased out for the likes of Allegier & Cordarelle Patterson & Jonnu Smith.

I don't think much is going to change in Pittsburgh but it's a good spot for Fields. Chicago had to do this, just shocked it's low value.

I'm not going to pretend that I watched them religiously, but I find it hard to believe that the 2019 Titans were boring. Tannehill had an all time YPA season and Henry had 1500 yards. They had a couple of 40 burgers and beat the Chiefs in the regular season.

Wilson is basically free. Gives them time to reclaim Fields. Fields is on the last cheap year of his contract at $2M. Theres a team option for $25M next year which explains the low trade return.

Yeah I’m pretty sure we both brought it up that they were doing a ton of fun things on offense.

I'm glad the Steelers took a chance on JF. I look forward to seeing how he improves.

Even more reason to play Fields and see if you can resurrect him enough to give him another deal. Wilson’s contract makes him a much better option as a backup.

I feel dirty sticking up for Fields but any idea that starting Russel Wilson in 2024, especially over a younger guy with at least an iota of potential is about the most egregious football incompetence we’ve seen.

The guys we've signed have tons of injury history so would not surprise me. Especially with this godforsaken field we play on. I'm exciting though, I gave Douglas shit Day 1 for practically sleeping through the big waves but I am in this. 

Love this move though, Jets need a big body WR as Lazard refuses to play like one. Probably means the rumors of Corey Davis wanting to stay near his TENN home by signing with the Titans might be true.

He’s quick. In space he’s just about the quickest thing I’ve seen on a rugby field. I can’t see it though. Maybe as a returner since that position has the most transferable skills from rugby in terms of slipping tackles, etc. All the best to him but I would be surprised if it goes anywhere.
