My fantasy football league just renewed today. We’re all overly excited. @admin restart our league too so I can start my contemplating process of who I want to keep when I gear up to defend my first ever PW Championship.

This story about the ATL podcast is absolutely bizarre. They went off air about six weeks ago, radio silence. Then today Gregg tweets it’s over. No finale, no forewarning, nothing after 11 years. I wonder what happened.

I wonder what happened. What the fuck? Reading more of Gregg’s tweets were heartwarming and heartfelt and at least it didn’t seem like it was something between the guys. Gregg said he’s staying at the NFL. Was also nice to see all the love in the thread from other NFL personalities. I don’t listen in the offseason so I didn’t even realize they took a break. Gutted they won’t be back in the fall when I normally go back.

Some guy who said he knew a friend of the guys leaked some info that apparently Dan did something to piss the corporates off, and that he was let go. Marc followed and Gregg didn’t. Nobody thought anything of it but then it was suddenly deleted and Gregg’s tweet aired straight after it. My gut instinct is it’s true. But whatever happened, it seems insane to me to have a podcast with that much history behind it just be shut down with no communication. It was by far the most important factor in me getting into the NFL. The British-style sense of humour, never taking themselves to seriously aspect was perfect as I first started to get into the sport. I’ll miss it.

I could see that as Dan always seemed to like dancing on that line. Props to Marc for sticking by his side and no fault for Gregg for staying at a dream job - Gregg always seemed the most company guy of the bunch so it wouldn’t be surprising. It’s speculation but it seems to fit all their personalities.

I wish it well but I’m doubtful that it’ll work. Dan has been pushing closer and close to the line, you’re right. At the same time, to me Dan is the show. No Dan and it sounds like any other football talking head podcast. I love Gregg but the shows where he’s in the host chair are brutal to me.

Agreed Dan and Marc and their humor set the show apart … I’ll be curious if they start their own pod. At least it’s not Claybon. Ugh.

NFL Media has been going two or three steps back with their recent decisions. Total Access got the axe, and the future of Good Morning Football is in limbo. It's like they're trying to go back to bare bones broadcasting, unless you buy in to their app.

This has ruined my day/week/life, I'm not too proud to admit that I teared up reading Gregg's post this morning. Sure it's just a podcast but I must have listened to close to a thousand episodes over the last 8 years, which is more than I've heard anyone talk except my wife.
I love Gregg and hope he got a great contract for staying, but I agree with UT, and the overwhelming majority of ATN fans, that this new show just won't be it. Without Dan and Marc it is destined to be another run of the mill football podcast of which there are already far too many available. Who knows if Dan and Marc will even (re)start together, but similarly I don't see how that could hold up as neither has the football nous to carry "serious analysis", and the chemistry and lore with Gregg is impossible to replicate.
I'm wondering if this affects how much I am plugged into the NFL in the future. I was already likely to not be watching as many games this season, and ATN was such a big part of my fandom I wouldn't be shocked if my interest starts to dissipate a little bit. It's quite reminiscent of when the Guardian Football podcast split into two inferior products and I ended up not watching soccer at all about a year later.

I’ll be interested to see what happens with Marc and Dan. Gregg’s role is the most replaceable even if their chemistry won’t be. Yahoo is trying to build their NFL media it seems so I’d love to see them join someone like Tice who is incredibly knowedgable. Though that’d be a pipe dream. Hope this doesn’t turn you away @admin - it’s a hit for sure but there’s still Mina Kimes is runs a really good pod and a few others that can fill some of the holes. Plus PW needs you.

I like Mina (and in isolation, all of the people who are going to be on NFL Daily) but it's the rotating guest format that just isn't the same. There's little familiarity, no chance of all the great running jokes and references. Mina has always been a once in a while listen for me, because it's just not that interesting to hear two people of the same opinion agree on everything for an hour. ATN was so great because you'd get Dan doing one of his silly bits, Gregg holding someone's feet to the fire, and Marc going off on one of his elaborate narratives mixed in with a bit of actual analysis. No one else does anything like that in the NFL landscape, everyone takes themselves far too seriously. And thank you. 🤗

Tragic what happened this weekend to Khyree Jackson. Vikings have been really unlucky with the CB picks in the draft, going back to Gladney ruining his NFL career a few years ago. This one sucks though, he was ready to play in the preseason and everything and gone at 24 years old due to a drunk driver.

The very fact that they survived and didn’t slip after Wess passed is a testament to their chemistry and style as well. I’m going to miss Go Get My Lunch and the onion hangers the most. Close second to the Sunday night recap shows.

Genuinely hope #33 is on the field Week 2 when the Jets go into Tennessee. Would love to see Rodgers smoke blitzboy in coverage.

Another sad far too young former player death today, Jacoby Jones was just 40. Not too many players with two truly iconic postseason plays.

Terrible luck for the Vikings this offseason right before the start of training camp too. Crazy for Addison to do this.

Having a teammate killed by a drunk driver and then deciding to go out drinking and driving is a lack of class you can’t even put into words.
I’d really love for the NFL to start handing down year+ long suspensions for this shit like they have with weed and gambling stuff in the past. It’s absurd how light they take this.

Shame because between his time in PITT/USC and in the 1 year with Minnesota, he had come on strong at times. He had that great MNF game too.
Between he and Quentin Johnston not working out year 1, Ravens may have lucked out with Zay Flowers. Even with that disaster of an AFC Championship game, there's only better & brighter things coming his way.

It doesn't even make sense because Baltimore picked Flowers over Addison so this is proving them smart rather than lucky.
