in a 1 on 1 conversation, how many?  I used to work supervising a team of 13 and leading a few projects.  So, I would be rattling off with say 20 people a day.  Now, I work in a smaller office and can bring that number down to only a couple people a day outside of my wife.  I imagine a lot of work from home types can keep the number real low.

Define talking. Are we looking at more than simple greetings/acknowledgement here?

I assume we are talking face to face, because I talk to a ton of people 1 on 1 over the phone daily, but otherwise the only other person I see and talk to daily face to face is my mom.

If I'm in the office, at least 10-20. How many do I want to talk to? Zero.

I will go with actual conversation.  But I am open to anything.

At home, always three people (wife, kids).

When I go into the office … minimum of five additional folks (small office, with hybrid work schedule). Today I’ve got a workshop with ~6 people in it.

I manage a team of five, so if we count video calls, I’ll talk to each one every day basically.

I live alone, but not for much longer.

I'd talk to anywhere between 5-10 people in the office. WFH days are quieter, I may have a couple of calls but definitely fewer people.

About half my evenings are either spent at the gym, where I'd maybe talk to 1 or 2 people, or at some kind of board games gathering where I could talk to 4-20 people depending on the size of the event.

You moving to Mexico or she coming to you? I'm assuming you're referencing PW's Legendary Wife

I sell computers/tech. Between a team of 30, I could talk to at least 15 colleagues and upwards of 50-60 customers or more a day in person.

In person just my wife, not counting random store clerks I may encounter.

Apparently Gyro LC doesn't even acknowledge us lowly retail grunts!

Did someone hear something?

Actually, I forgot to include the people at the poker room. It can get pretty chatty there.

She's coming here once she gets the visa!

At work probably 10 or so co-workers earlier in the week, much more on weekends.
At least 50 patrons a night going into 100+ when it’s busy.

On my days off just to sandylea & service workers really + my friends on the rare occassions our schedules line up. Well and truly over people by the time my days off hit so not in a rush to socialise.

At work, depending on which job it was would range between no co-workers up to 5. Customers again would range anywhere between 10 upwards.

Every day life, depends on the day if it was at a shopping centre usually my best friend and I would walk past each other just flipping off one another if that counts? We would stop to chat but not always. Other friends I mainly see on the weekend maybe once or twice a month if lucky.

If I’m at home I talk to Dad every day, my Mum and Step Dad I would see if they visited me at work or I visited them. I’d stay once per week minimum for them?

System I see at least twice a week, it’s usually his days off we get to see each other.

Where texting is concerned System is the only one I talk to every day. There is a few friends I talk to most days, though most communication is through memes or reels. It’s rare to just catch up with people through the week.

I usually get tired talking to particular people, including through text so if I actually message you it means I am thinking of you and do want to genuinely talk to you

Way too fucking many.

It is important to make the distinction between talking and chatting.
I don't mind a good discussion, doesn't even have to be a topic I am particularly interested in.

Idle chatter though, that can get in the bin with all it's vacuous proponents.

Daily work week actual conversations 4 that's including my parents.

Daily weekend actual conversations 2 that including my parents. The weekend depends on what's going on. Sometimes it is only 2 with my parents. Others is it could be around 10.
