All some valid criticisms , the Chiefs just like every other team have flaws and legitimate questions arose. Doesn’t mean they got no respect.
The underdogs in the playoffs and Super Bowl thing was stupid I agree but it’s not like they went in and blew out the 49ers. It was incredibly close and Shanahan deserves a ring as well for his terrible coaching in that second half.
The 49er easily could have won this game and I’d still feel the same about the Chiefs as I do today.

The Chiefs also had the hardest path to a Super Bowl championship in NFL history based on their opponents DVOA.
Whatever that means.
This was epic. 3 Super Bowl championships. All involved being down 10 points at one point. All involved being down at halftime.
Now we get to fight for the 3Peat next year. Let’s fucking do this!

Happy to see Taylor's team won.
Who knew, it would take a mega star like her, to make football relevant.

Dan Orlovsky tweeted this:
“Chiefs faced Nos 2, 3, 4 and 6 offenses in the playoffs which combined for 28.3 PPG.
They averaged 15.8 PPG vs KC D. Spags shaved off 12.5 points off of the 4 best offenses in the NFL.
All time playoff run defensively.”

I’m generally okay with Tony (I don’t have especially strong feelings about any announcers, but at least you can tell Tony is enjoying what he’s seeing), but someone pointed that end of game out and oof yeah it’s pretty bad. He didn't describe it well at all in the moment but I think it was relatively obvious that he was talking about how it was the same play that Toney scored on in the previous Super Bowl. He'd already pointed out how they tried the same play to Kelce at the end of regulation, that they scored with against Baltimore so it was an ongoing theme.

Which reminds me.
All we have to bet on now is hockey and basketball.
Then when that’s done, it gets worse.
Baseball. 🤮

The Nostradamus thing hurt Romo. Now you can tell he’s really conscious of it and trying to get himself over in every game he calls that he knows what’s going to happen next. I dig his enthusiasm but less is more, and he’s too much.
Enjoyed the highlights of the game. Thought the Chiefs would win with more to spare but they found a way.

My impression is actually the opposite. As time has passed since his playing days, the less insightful he's able to be, and as a result the "enthusiasm" (like the random moaning) has become more prominent. I think he's still an above-average commentator (the idea that he is one of the worst ever is laughable), he's a lot better at covering the situational stuff in real-time than most but I think his trajectory has shown how incredibly prepared active quarterbacks are, and how much insight they can provide. That's why I'm excited for Brady out of the gate, even if he's not as charismatic.

It's my understanding celebs don't get paid for the halftime show. With all due respect, Taylor Swift is bigger than the NFL, just cause she's dating a football player, doesn't mean she needs to do charity work for them.

I can only speak for myself, but whatever interest I had in this NFL season, starts and ends with Taylor Swift. Prior to this, my only interest was keeping up with Tom Brady back when he was playing for the Patriots.

It’s the second most popular sport in the world and #1 in America by a wide margin. That would be like me saying soccer doesn’t have relevance when in the grander scheme of things - hockey is largely irrelevant.

Olsen, Aikman and Romo are still the top three for me. Calling him the worst in a world that has Charles Davis is just wrong.

Jonathan Vilma is pretty comfortably the worst colour guy on TV at the moment in my opinion. And Herbstreit has been generally bad too, but that's more about him being "forced" to do something he's not actually passionate about.

I forgot about Vilma. He’s there with Davis as well. I would rate Davis a tad worse only because he talks sooooo much about nothing.
Herbstreit gets a pass. He’s a great color guy, just not for the NFL. I hold nothing against him.
And we also had the year of Booger. Which is a bar for the worst. And Witten too.
ESPN in general really needed Aikman to give them credibility back.

Then he tried a handful of ways to close his statement, ensuring none of them landed. It was awful. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl, every image is of people celebrating, and Tony’s acting as if they’re showing the replay. He was behind the moment and it came out awful. He couldn’t coherently describe the play, tried to bring up Hardman leaving the team and coming back but couldn’t, then called Patrick Michael Jordan.

The Super Bowl drew an average of 123 million viewers. The largest audience in television history, and the most watched event since the 1969 Moon landing.
I guess the Swifties moved the needle there. I wonder how many of them out of the 123 tuned in?

Another thing:
Since trading Tyreek Hill: - Drafted McDuffie - Drafted Sky Moore - Drafted Pacheco - Drafted Rashee Rice - 7-0 in the playoffs - 2 Super Bowls
Also heard someone call this the equivalent of the Hershel Walker trade.
Man I love this team.
