Or ruining artwork in other ways.
When people throw paint on famous pieces of art to bring attention to themselves does it spark outrage in you? Inspire you to look into the cause this obviously passionate person is feeling?
I know I am about out on a limb to most people with my perception of the value of art and my feelings on museums don't align with most. But, I think the common ground we can likely agree on, is that this is a highly ineffective form of protest and bringing attention to a cause. Does anyone see it differently?

The paintings they attack are under glass. They are not damaged in the least.
And they are effective protests in that people know about them. It is gets publicity and many even know they are oil protests.

I care about protestors throwing paint at these amazing artwork.
It is not the act that bothers me but what it signifies. The great masters were exactly that, masters of their craft that spent decades perfecting their medium and creating something beautiful. Today we hand everyone a megaphone and tell them all opinions are valid. If all someone has ever done in their life is: criticise, pull down and destroy then they have offered nothing to our society.
It takes true mastery and greatness to create, to give life to something beautiful. Any hack can criticise and destroy The acts aren't equal and we should show contempt for people who think that they are.

It’s basically what c does to PW every day. Except for paint, he used his keyboard to try and destroy the beauty of PW.
