What is your attitude and experiences with drugs & alcohol?
As a kid I think I was pretty sheltered & naive and things like Healthy Harold just made it seem like the only time you were going to encounter drug use was from a rarely encountered junkie like something out of a movie and that’s it. Considering the area I live in has the nickname “Drugaford” that is definitely not the case.
After getting asked if I had any bags on me last night at a concert, I think I was definitely left unprepared for how commonplace certain substances are. I went through a phase of being an annoying “Straight Edge” person, go check out on of their forums it’s so awful . I still don’t partake in drugs/alcohol and don’t have any judgment to those that do. Especially ironically being a bartender.

I've had the standard experience. My parents weren't big drinkers. My Dad used to have beer in the fridge for the weekend and throughout the summer and enjoys a beer. But binge drinking wasn't the culture in my house.
I had a family member who was a drunk, and that pretty much resonated with me from a young age. And today, another one, is a full blown alcoholic, and it's digusting watching them on social media celebrate their drinking while destroying their body.
I started drinking more regularly at maybe 17, having drank before obviously. And had a good time throughout my 20s. But it's never been something I've committed to. I may have had alcohol in the house when I was in my 20s, but rarely touched it outside of a night out.
As for drugs... there's also been drugs around me. Weed was common place, and usually an acceptable alternative to cigarettes at most partys. Pills in the clubs. Outside of a little bit of weed a handful of times, I was never into any of it. Avoided it, and most of the people who kept smoking it.
Ice or Meth is everywhere in Australia. It's scary stuff.
