You can start the draft off with the Bears whenever UT. Going to make a separate thread for PICKS only, save this thread for discussion of the 2 rounds so it's neat.

I would love to see the Bears do Bear things but I don’t think they could justify not picking Williams.

Could go with either QB with the Commandos, think the Pats pick is where the draft opens up. Could be the spot the Vikings trade up to but the player picked at 3 really starts to shake the draft up. Curious where RT goes with this.

I don't see any way the Pats don't take a QB, especially with quite a few good choices this year. After a little research I feel like McCarthy is the best fit for the Pats system.

Plus he looks like a massive douche so he will fit in with New England perfectly.

Could be McCarthy but I think if they stay put and pick a QB it has to be Maye or Daniels depending on who’s left. McCarthy seems like the consolation prize to the Vikings (if they can’t get up higher) or the Raiders/Broncos.

Interesting pick, McCarthy has that Irish surname that the Boston faithful will die for. I still think they are team Brissett and take one of the 2 big WRs. Team is desperate to get firepower on offense in the worst way. Can see them take a QB in later round for the future.

I looked at 5 mock drafts and McCarthy beat Maye 3-2. Nobody had Daniels going to NE.

Doesn’t mean anything obviously but THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE.

Honestly if I’m a betting man I think it’s Minny that trades up to 4 or 5 to grab whichever of the big four QBs are left.

Yeah I probably would not allow trades because so much stuff can be thrown off but I guess that one can go but I would keep it reasonable if you're doing trades within themselves. Vikings would squash that deal though, they traded with the Texans to avoid this scenario, although I think the Pats taking McCarthy at 3 sort of foils their hopes of getting the QB they probably like the most. 

And yeah Bo Nix all of a sudden becomes desirable between Denver and Minnesota. Like a legit fight for this man which is crazy. I agree with you UT , Vikings would no doubt be calling at 4 and getting that deal to happen.

I’m not taking Nix at 11… I don’t care. I’ll see what happens at 23.

Also I think WSH actually takes Maye anyways so it would be interesting to see how that would play out.

I wouldn't have done that trade if RT had picked Maye rather than McCarthy. I think McCarthy could see success if he lands in a Shanahan/McVay offence which will suit his strengths passing over the middle (Minnesota) but I would be concerned about him in other situations because he doesn't seem like a true top 5 type prospect.

Minnesota are higher so do seem to be in a better spot but the Raiders are always impulsive.

And I just wanted to write a fun post.

Moore/Allen/Odunze would have to be the best group of receivers any rookie quarterback had ever had. Most of these guys that go in the top 5 are lucky if they start off with one decent target.

Yeah it would be insane and Kmet is solid.

I really hate the draft narratives of “insert marginal or old veteran” is here they don’t need that position. It applies to the Bears and Allen some but it drives me more crazy in terms of Jets fans who think Conklin is a reason you don’t draft a generational tight end prospect or Moses is a reason you don’t draft a tackle.

Or Packer fans thinking because Valentine played “okay” for a 7th round rookie we shouldn’t draft a corner.

Point being is marginal replacement level players shouldn’t prevent you from drafting at that position. You see it everywhere with fanbases.

That’s now how good teams operate. Never will be.

(This isn’t about Blindys pick, I think they should draft the best receiver prospect or tackle at #10)

I’m not sure that Clark Hunt is willing to part with any extra cash, but I think I can make that work. I’ll even give you next years third round pick back.

If Jets go with Bowers at 10 now, I am actually cool with it and yeah that was the other option but I think you can't mess around with OT and if the Jets win games next year, they are picking too low in the draft to get themselves an arguable ready to go LT in the draft. Lineman just don't grow on trees and very rarely does one hit the open market. Orlando Brown was the last one who was considered a major one.

It's a tough sell for the fans given the Jets took Will McDonald with the idea he would replace Bryce Huff & Carl Lawson and we're about to see if the Jets brass look dumb or smart in thinking that. Jets passed on a couple of WRs who could have helped them immediately which is where that pick caught so much flack. Joe Douglas is on a mandate to win now so he could go for the short fix and get Bowers or think about the foundation and getting their OT youth settled.

It was between those 2 guys at the pick and I would hate to see Tyron Smith and or Morgan Moses down and the Jets much like last year with Becton/Duane Brown, with their pants on the ground completely unprepared.

The same applies to the Bears and Kmet with Bowers. Kmet is solid but Cole Kmet shouldn’t prevent you from drafting anyone.

If Odunze doesn't make it to 9(Possibility NE/ARI/NYG all swing at WR), that's who I fear takes Bowers and ends the debate for NYJ at 10. Waldron getting that TE weapon when he utilized 2 TEs in Seattle is match made.
