My parents are very insistent on tidying up all the dishes at a restaurant. I know some people are vehemently against this practice but I don't know why. Seems like a useful thing to do.

I do, but understand those who don't. It is the server's job, after all, and maybe there is a more optimal way of stacking the plates that us normies don't know about

Often places don't stack their plates, I imagine because they don't want they dirty on both sides. I let them control the flow of how they want the plates, I don't think it is helpful to mess up their system.

If I can just do something small to make that persons job just THAT much easier for at least one group of people then that’s what I want. Every day my mission is to make one person smile or make someone’s day just a little brighter whatever form that takes.
