I'll give Ospreay the benefit of the doubt. HHH had a receipt coming and he's still developing as a promo. Not ideal, but I think he's shown a decent aptitude and unlike others is giving it a red hot crack.

Granted, Will earned some latitude from me after his response to the Alfred Konuwa parody on Twitter.

I like Ospreay, but I just came away thinking ‘who wrote that for him?’ There just seems to be an insecurity that comes across in AEW talent when they attempt this sort of thing. Of course he’s entitled to jibe if he feels HHH is calling him out, but they never seem do it well.

It was beneath him, but I accept that he's developing as a promo and I give him credit for tying it into his match against Danielson.

Lord knows there wasn't much meat to the bone. I'm sure it will be a five star extravaganza and another feather in both men's caps but there's little reason to care about who wins or loses.

I believe most thought airing was a bad idea with no pluses for AEW. Turns out it was. One of Tony's "friends" should have tried harder to get it over turned. Because it matches Punk's version which makes him seem like all he spoke was the truth. So all they did is make him look like a bigger hero since he was their to help it grow.

I am sad we didn't get another Joe saying the failing Crossrhodes sucks.

The thing that boggles my mind the most about this is if they were going to have FTR come out and make their entire promo “why are we still talking about this?” then why not have them interrupt the Bucks before they could show the footage?

That would have got the exact same point across without having to show the footage, something that EVERYONE said was a bad idea.

Like the way they showed it and what happened after was basically the best possible outcome…but it was still really really bad!

Nah definitely not. The Bucks have competed on TV several times recently with no chants. When they rebranded as Matthew & Nicholas the fans were on board with the gimmick and everyone had put this behind them.

It’s because CM Punk took jabs at the company that they decided to do this and it is the most little brother shit I think I have ever seen. I genuinely think they thought this footage would make people turn on Punk and I have no idea why. Like in a normal world sure, sucker punching a coworker and choking them unprovoked would change a lot of minds, but wrestling fans are anything but normal. One guy even wrote a song about this! 😉

TK is too stubborn to see how it wasn't a good idea. When Dave Meltzer of all people said this wasn't a good idea, that should have been a wake up call. However, knowing that he was still going to do it this way, The Bucks probably helped their boss by sharing the heat. Win as a team, die as a team. 

The whole idea to do this was terrible and it makes the entire company look amateurish.

Ugh I also just realized how bad this is going to blow up on Jack Perry. He’s actually done a really good job in NJPW with his Scapegoat gimmick. Fans have really taken to him as a shitty heel with House of Torture (in a good way).

Now he has to appear in Chicago right after this. I mean I guess fans were going to let him have it regardless but this certainly won’t help. I wonder if he had any input on this. I have to think they discussed it. Dude is crazier than I thought if he was supportive of this. :lol:

I disagree about Will, felt like he wanted to let off steam and if he kept it to HHH only, I think he would be in the right. Bringing up someone's wife in such a crude way is lame. I feel bad for Renee though, I can tell she was uncomfortable seeing her former bosses get fired like that, especially as a new mother too. She left on great terms from HHH/Stephanie and probably doesn't want any dirt on her.


Should have had Will just do it without an interviewer, but again another misfire that was easy to sidestep from.

I have less of a problem with Will attacking HHH and more that he sounds like a miserable fuck boy in AEW.  The current happy go lucky Will I am not digging.  But HHH took at a shot at Will, he took a shot back.  

I also find it odd that people are more outraged that the fight aired in AEW than the sex scandal stuff in WWE. This will kill AEW, but WWE will easily move on a wave of women talking about sexual misconduct everyone knew about there.
