Dallas' defence was absolutely smothering last night. Otter was on fire and you aren't going to win a game only getting 22 shots on him.
I didn't see the whole series so I can't comment on Marchessault's disappearance but yeah, damn. Games 3-7 he had 1 assist. He was Vegas' top scorer last playoffs and a big reason they won. Apparently Dallas did something to shut him down.

Apparently, Oilers forgot there was a 3rd period last night.
Used to be pretty typical of them to gain the lead quickly and then get cocky in the 3rd and give it up. I thought they worked past that, but here we are.

Fine by me, especially if it means the Canucks move on. I'll just leave this here. Hopefully that continues throughout the second round.

Rangers are 7-0 in the playoffs so far and 1 win away from the ECF. Extraordinary. I can’t find it now but there was a graphic on twitter that showed every team that started the playoffs going 7-0. I think there were 8 or 9 total, and most of them won the Cup. I think there were only 2 instances were another team ended up winning. I’m team Rangers unless the play the Canucks. I want to see Vancouver get revenge for 1994 if that is the case. Otherwise go NY.

Whooooaaaaaa
Bro had 9 goals in these playoffs and he couldn’t stop snorting coke long enough to win another Cup. Holy fuck this is brutal for Colorado. So much for this series going 7.

I’m team Rangers unless the play the Canucks. I want to see Vancouver get revenge for 1994 if that is the case. Otherwise go NY. Yes please, Vancouver winning the cup would be great. Quick story that is 100% real: My wife was a Canucks fan her entire life. Grew up in BC and her and everyone in her family were fans. Our daughter was born during game 1 of the 2011 finals and while she was in labour I was giving her score updates. We watched game 7 in a bar across the street from our apartment and I watched her angrily leave while the entire bar (all Bruins fans) celebrated. She realized a few years ago she was only a fan because her family was, specifically her dad, who she hates and doesn’t talk to. She decided to start anew since she wasn’t actually attached to the team, and declared herself a Seattle Kraken fan. But when we had that conversation, the first thing she said was “you watch, now Vancouver will win a Cup.” That was about 18 months ago…

Boston showed heart and sent it back to Boston for a Game 6.
Let’s see if Edmonton can tie this series at 2.

I’m really rooting for the Rangers to close this series out tonight. Get to the ECF already and don’t make this go to a game 7. I wouldn’t feel confident in a Game 7.
I also hope Edmonton wins tonight. I really want them to get to the Stanley Cup.
Oilers/Rangers would be so lit.

What a comeback by the Rangers tonight.
Four unanswered in the third, including a natural hatty by Kreider, finishes off the Canes.

Oilers/Canucks has been loaded with cardiac finishes.
Tonight was no different. Vancouver got the winner with just over 30 seconds left.
Back to Oil Country for the crucial Game 6.

But when we had that conversation, the first thing she said was “you watch, now Vancouver will win a Cup.” That was about 18 months ago… Thanks for sharing, RT. Honestly, I grew up a fan of the OG Jets, went to a game or two as a kid, at the old Winnipeg Arena. After they left, I didn't really have a team, well I was briefly a Colorado Avalanche fan, but that was due to the amazing roster they had back then (Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Ray Bourque, Peter Forsberg, etc.). I actually became a Canucks fan, around 2004, I needed a change from Winnipeg, so I moved out to Surrey (British Columbia, not England >_>), for a little over a year (before moving back to Winnipeg), and stayed with a relitive. Anyway, it was during that time, we went to a Canucks game, just being there live and watching them play, I became a fan. Obviously, with the move from Atlanta, I like most people in the city were excited when the Jets came back, still a big fan of the Canucks (hoping they win the cup), but I root for both teams. When I do go to the odd Jets game, I try and make sure it's when they take on the Canucks, so I can watch both teams play.

One of the most epic comebacks in Rangers history. I thought there was absolutely no chance of the Rangers winning game 6 let alone the series.
Rangers scored on their 5th or 6th shot on goal in the second period. Zero urgency and zero offensive pressure same rut this team has been in since game 5. Also, an unbelievable amount of turnovers most of them unforced causing immediate 2 on 1's. Trouba and Gustafsson are absolute defensive liabilities. Beer league turnovers in front of Shesterkin an absolute mess.
Trouba almost ended the Rangers season after the Rangers got within one goal in the third. Awful pinch trying to destroy whoever it was with a massive hit. Trouba had no chance just a horrible time to do that. Caused an immediate 2 on 1. Could have been the series there.
Rangers up a goal extra attacker Svechnikov all alone in the slot on the face-off Shesterkin with a world class blocker save. Gustafsson somehow immediately lost Svechnikov after being right next him on the face-off.
Rangers finally realized they need offensive zone time and consistent shifts to score goals. Carolina is a team I feared most in the playoffs. But, the Rangers are also a really good team and should not be playing 60 minute reactive hockey. Also, Anderson has been awful. Even more of a reason for the Rangers to put pressure on him.
Carolina hit the post a bunch of times. But, Martinook saved a goal that will never be repeated again. And, Carolina got away with a delay of game penalty in the third period. Ultimately, Hurricanes defensive zone coverage broke down and Anderson was not good enough to bail them out.
Absolutely ecstatic that the Rangers are moving on. Incredible comeback. Please stop with the unforced errors and turnovers. Dictate the game do not wait for the other team to make every single play. Half way there.
Also, for all the praise the Carolina crowd receives they are absolutely silent at the opening faceoff.
