You are confusing him with the cheap shot artist big man from Philadelphia who has never made the ECF in his career. 

KAT unlike Embiid and the Knicks, actually made it to the conference finals last year so you are being pretty rough with the "loser" label. He went to a shit team and tried as much as he could to get them to compete until Anthony Edwards got there to help take the load off. 

Fact of the matter is, you must have a big man to compete with the Porzingis or Embiid's of the East. You have to. The idea of small ball sounds cool on paper but it isn't built to last over an 82 game span. My concern with KAT is the # of games he's missed over the years, people say Randle is injury prone but don't realize he logged in so much time prior to last season's season ending injury. 

With Mitchell Robinson gone until DEC-JAN and at best, on a minutes limit for a majority of this season, this was the move to make. They needed a big man and the Danny Ainge's want a farm for guys like Walker Kessler, so this was the next step.

Knicks are already stuck on a 4 year window with the Brunson/OG/Bridges(Soon) deals so might as well add someone else to the fold. No stars have come to NYK and the way it is going, not many will be out in the open to sign in free agency to the next step is to add via trade. 

KAT has the basketball IQ of a fucking pineapple tree and is one of the most frustrating players in the NBA. Don’t know if I love the fit.

Not sure if he's like that, that's more like Porzingis with the ability to contest shots inside but KP never wanted to post up here with the Knicks due to not being built. 

KAT's defense from everything I have read was significant in Minnesota being Denver in the Semis last year with KAT getting Jokic and giving him the most trouble of the TWolves bigs.

How many times did he foul 40+ feet from the basket while already in foul trouble?

I’m not saying it can’t work but KAT is going to have to improve a lot of the dumb things he does if they are going to be a true threat in the East.
