It’s election night in America. As Donald Trump celebrates his win as the new President of the United States of America, he is swiftly arrested for [ redacted ]. Over the coming days, Trump announces that if he is going down, he’s taking everyone with him. In the days that followed the election, Trump is denied parole and decides to blow the whistle on all of his friends in power. One of those friends (or former friends as of this writing), Vince McMahon, was arrested on various charges. Trump claimed that he had dirt on the former WWE Chairman and CEO and quietly released information about his friend to the police. Whatever evidence he had was enough to have McMahon brought in. Overnight, FBI raided McMahon’s house and found a treasure trove of media that implicated dozens of current and former WWE wrestlers in various crimes. Christmas night, many of these wrestlers was arrested and denied bail based on the evidence found in McMahon’s home. The following week, information was leaked to the press that a 90 year old judge in Florida was shown various clips from WWE programming and didn’t realize that the shows were television drama and thought the crimes of the WWE wrestlers were real. The judge and a complicit DA trying to get his numbers up before reelection brought three dozen current and former WWE Superstars to arraignment and formally charged them with the crimes that they had only acted out on TV. No argument could convince the sitting judge, who should have retired 20 years earlier, that he was wrong and he denied them all bail and locked them up together in a local penitentiary until their trial in 2025. Meanwhile, having gotten word that Monday Night Raw would be presenting a TV MA show on Netflix, NBC wanted to get in on that action. Smackdown, not to be outdone by Raw, would be adding a third hour of broadcasting this January to it’s lineup. USA announced that it would be reviving it’s USA Up All Night broadcasting in 2025 and would be head up with a third hour of Smackdown titled Smackdown Lockdown. One of the competitors was already locked up (Nailz) and one of the competitors thought it was a reality show they were auditioning for (R-Truth). For the TRUE Men’s World Championship
There are perhaps no two men who embody the spirit of TRUE more than the men competing to be the first Men’s World Champion. Two legendary grapplers renowned for their willingness to push beyond normal limits with an insatiable hunger to be the best. Kurt Angle, an Olympian and one of the most decorated world champions in wrestling history, would love nothing more than to add another accolade to his incredible career. For Katsuyori Shibata, though he has won several championships and accolades, he has never been the man at the top of the mountain. With his incredible ability to both withstand and deliver obscene amounts of punishment, he just might be able to offset Angle’s one-of-a-kind wrestling pedigree. Will Kurt Angle add yet another trophy to his case, or will Katsuyori Shibata finally be able to ascend to the mountaintop? Only one man can be the TRUE World Champion?
For the TRUE Women’s World Championship
When it comes to seeing who would be the first TRUE Women’s World Champion, there are few who would argue that the woman otherwise known as Becky Lynch did not deserve this championship match. An incredible career, a career that might have ended before it truly began. But with will and determination, she has forged a truly incredible legacy that can only be expanded upon in TRUE. But Becky Quinn is not the only woman to have triumphed over adversity. A great champion in her own right, Thunder Rosa has fought and survived in many bloody wars and has recently returned from a career-threatening injury of her own and shown that she is just as good as she ever was. Now she has the opportunity to truly cement herself as an icon of this sport and become the first TRUE Women’s World Champion. Two women who both embody the spirit of this promotion, fighting for the gold. They both believe they deserve it. Only one can earn it.
On the surface, it is the classic battle of striker vs. grappler. But there is so much more going on beneath the surface. It is about the quest for new battlegrounds, new lands to conquer. To prove one’s dominance or reestablish greatness. For Miyu Yamashita, even at her young age, hers is already a legacy draped in gold. Historic title reigns have made her synonymous with the TJPW Princess of Princess championship, and she has won multiple championships in companies across Japan, the UK, and America. If she’s put in a title match, it’s very nearly a guarantee that Miyu Yamashita will win. But for Shayna Baszler, it is a different story. While the student of Josh Barnett has won many championships and awards in MMA and Catch Wrestling and once reigned supreme as the longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion, she has yet to recapture such glory. But it’s the dawning of a new day, a TRUE day, and in a new environment more acutely suited to her style, this may be just what she needs to recapture the energy and dominate once again.
For the TRUE Tag Team Championship
Two brotherhoods, one of shared blood, the other forged in blood spilled. Brutus and Julius Creed have fought together all their lives, constantly at each other’s side, each brother pushing the other to work harder, to put in that extra effort. This driving force has led them to great success in both the amateur and professional wrestling worlds, winning championship glory and being seen as one of the most exciting tag teams in modern mainstream wrestling. Though still very early in their careers, they are determined to prove they are the greatest brother tag team in wrestling. Conversely, Takuya Nomura and Fuminori Abe have only started teaming since 2016 and have wrestled each other more than half a dozen times. But in those eight years and through those battles, they have made a bond stronger than steel. Their skill and capacity for brutality against their opponents and each other has made them one of the most famous tag teams on the Japanese independent scene and has even recently turned into acclaim on the American independents as well. Where the Creeds have strength and slams punctuated by bursts of high-flying, The Astronauts have a blistering combination of striking and submission grappling. Both young teams are emblematic of a new generation of tag team wrestling, but only one can carry the banner of TRUE.
Sometimes, professional wrestling is like poetry. Two young men from famous wrestling lineages, debuting only months apart, carrying their family legacy into the new era of professional wrestling. Both quick to win gold, both rarely defeated. Hook, the son of the “Human Suplex Machine”, and Rex Steiner, the “nephew” of Scott Steiner. But in as many ways as they are similar, they are equally different. Like the rest of his family, Rex is a bullish, swaggering trash-talker while Hook, not without his own confidence, is practically nonverbal. Clearly a man who lets his record speak for itself. Steiner believes that his aggression and explosive energy will net him the victory, while Hook has confidence in his array of suplexes, his sharp technique, and his laser focus. Both men will be looking for the submission victory, but only one man can secure the victory and elevate himself to the next level.
Every now and then, it becomes clear that the only way to deal with a bully is to have him fight another bully. Standing across the ring from one another are two of the most evil, violent, sadistic men in wrestling history, and now they’ll get to turn that malevolence onto one another. Scott Steiner, as is well-known, is a genetic freak with incredible strength, prone to violent acts of psychotic rage that simply cannot be contained by a wrestling ring. These qualities have elevated him to multiple world championships and main event status all across the globe. Minoru Suzuki, one of the founders of Pancrase, has held two of the three most prestigious world championships in Japanese wrestling, has won over two dozen MMA fights, and his status as a freelancer has allowed him to leave a trail of broken bodies in his wake the world over. Steiner has gone red in the face making threats and comments that we cannot repeat here, while Suzuki has only smiled and said how much he will enjoy Steiner’s screams. In this contest of psychopaths, the people in the most danger may very well be those around the ring rather than in it.
Some people believe that the only way to help someone is to hurt them first, that the most painful lessons are the ones that stick. That certainly seems to be what Ken Shamrock has in mind for Chad Gable. In Gable, Shamrock sees a man with all of the potential in the world to be truly great, to be a champion like himself. But he lacks the killer instinct, the edge. He lacks insanity, and Shamrock promises that if they work together, he can help Gable unlock “The Zone” that Shamrock himself is famous for entering. Chad Gable has taken offense to this, believing that he already has all of the tools necessary and can make it on his own. After all, in his own words, he’s gone toe-to-toe with the best wrestlers his generation has to offer, while Ken Shamrock has been taken to the limit by such luminaries as Val Venis, Goldust, and The Godfather. But Shamrock simply won’t take no for an answer. And in TRUE fashion, when you have a problem, you fight. If Shamrock wins, Chad Gable will have to accept his tutelage. If Gable wins, Shamrock will have to concede that Gable has what it takes and can forge his own path however he sees fit.
After years of competing at the highest levels in amateur wrestling, Kyoko Hamaguchi decided to take the next step and continue her father’s legacy by stepping into the world of professional wrestling. And in TRUE, we play for keeps, so her first test would be one set to take her to the limit. A living legend, one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time, Manami Toyota. For her own part, Toyota wants to test her skills in the new landscape of TRUE and against such a decorated wrestler in her own right in Hamaguchi. How will Kyoko handle herself against such a high caliber of debut opponent. Will she rise to the occasion or crumble under the pressure?
Bob Sapp is one of the most imposing and dangerous men in the history of combat sports. What Sapp may lack in technique, he more than makes up for in size and power. There are rumors that even Mike Tyson feared facing “The Beast.” When he first signed with TRUE, many wondered just who would be the man to take that contract and step into the ring with him. Who would be crazy enough? It turns out that Sheamus was crazy enough. “The Celtic Warrior” is already a legend in his own right, with multiple championships won across a history of incredible matches. Never one to back down from a fight, Sheamus will be giving up some size to Sapp but will be counting on his skill and experience of battling against some of the best that this sport has to offer in this clash of titans.
