Are they going to explain why CM Punk was suddenly refereeing that match? Like going forward, can anyone with a referee shirt run to the ring if the assigned official goes down?

I thought we had an understanding that either another actual ref has to come down, or someone with authority that isn't part of the wrestler's locker room. I hope that gets explained otherwise Drew should just do that back to Punk first chance he gets. They can both referee each other's matches until one of them retires.

Also did Drew do something to him after Wrestlemania and I missed it? Or is CM Punk just being a dick to him after already getting his revenge once? Who am I supposed to cheer for here?

Drew injured Punk and then spent weeks mocking the fact that he did. He made a tshirt about it. I think costing him the title a few times is ok. Not to mention, the first time he cost him the title it was only after Drew mocked him face to face after Drew won the title.

Drew took from CM Punk the thing he wanted most (headlining WrestleMania). Now Punk took from Drew what he wanted most (to win the title in his home country.)

Side note: I'm beyond happy to see how over Sami is worldwide. His entrance, the match, the pop for Otis, Sami getting the win, etc. Definitely the highlight of the night for me.

I get what you're saying.

As a babyface he was always a little forced upon the audience. I can't remember who said it on here, but every time you randomly tuned into WWE a babyface US Champion, Damian Priest was on.

He was then the least interesting member of Judgement Day for a long time, especially considering Finn is one of the best in the world, Rhea is such a force and Dom becoming such a shithead.

And then he seemed preoccupied with " Judgement Day Business " for 12 months before cashing in his MITB, likely taking away some his momentum.

But he's big and can work and despite his buckled knees, he looks like a badass.

I'm watching the match with Drew now, and he's surprisingly underrated IMO.

Never got the appeal of Punisher Martinez and that did not change with the name change.

I just cannot get into the dude.  Botch do not think was his fault, that was a freak accident that happens.  He is lucky he did not get hurt, seen people break ankles that way.  

I’ve got my doubts about Priest. Enjoyed him at the press conference. And he no doubt earned their trust when he carried Bad Bunny. Plus he may have the best look in the wrestling business. He’s a touch boring but he’s finding his on screen persona. He’s growing on me.

I don’t know what this is all about but I got some stuff showing up in my feed that Drew attacked Corey Graves after the show went off the air. It looks story and not shoot and Wade got him off Corey. I’m not sure what’s going on with all that. I’ve only seen pictures and read an article, haven’t seen Video yet.

Yeah he used to be my #1 least favorite wrestler before Judgment Day. But he is climbing high and fast up my list. I really like what he is doing with Rhea gone. He looks and sounds impressive. I always thought it was the story that was holding him back and since Judgment Day that definitely seems like it was the issue because he is doing great.

The energy of foreign crowds puts the US crowds to shame. I know I'm nitpicking but if crowds in the States aren't instantly hooked by a promo or story, they ruin it with WHAT chats. That drives me crazy. Fans telling Gable he's just a shitty Kurt Angle was great.

CM Punk was waiting backstage in a referee shirt so he could do a "clever" interference because he somehow knew the referee would be knocked down and then Drew would immediately have a decisive pin. One of those wrestling spots that looks cool when it happens but makes no sense when you give it a moment of thought.

He wasn’t waiting with a referee shirt on. There is a video circulating now that answers it. When the ref bump happens, he looks around and sees Jessica and tells her to give him her shirt. She steps out of camera leading to a moment when some would think she took her shirt off and threw it at him. But then she stepped back into frame and was still wearing her stripes. He put it on because the referee was bumped.
