Well that was an episode.
Fletcher/Ricochet was disappointing actually, had more fun watching the 8-man tag and Ishii/Hangman.
GYV promoed into a promo? Just all kinds of odd presentation sprinkled throughout.
Interested to see what faction Mox is building though, thought Mariah/Swerve/Bryan cut awesome promos. MJF/Garcia build was well executed, FIGHT FETISH and all.
Overall kind of a flat entry to follow up All In with though. Didn't help either that Champaign, IL was a god awful audience.

Can we agree that Iishi is the drizzling shits?
The first few minutes of that match with Hangman was embarrassing.
Some of these guys will sell an unsanctioned punch like a shot gun blast to the chest, yet here we are... 46 elbow strikes later before a single reaction.

Great promos from Swerve, Danielson, Perry and MJF. Fun segment with Mercedes and Okada too. They're keeping the Wembley momentum going strong. Some of these guys will sell an unsanctioned punch like a shot gun blast to the chest, yet here we are... 46 elbow strikes later before a single reaction. That's the point. His gimmick is the "Stone Pitbull" - he can absorb a huge amount of strikes. The Sheamus philosophy of being willin to take five punches to give one back. Ishii is an unsung hero of Japanese wrestling. Most wrestlers in NJPW have had their best match against Ishii. He's phenomenal at getting the best out of people, elevating them in the ring. That said, he's getting on in years and his best days are behind him. He didn't make the G1 Climax for the first time in over a decade. I haven't seen the Hangman match but I'm not surprised it's not good. In 2024 Ishii's style is cliché bordering on self-parody. AEW likes to trot him out because, like Minoru Suzuki, he's incredibly popular in the West.

Whatever he was in NJPW, it’s either well beyond his capability now or he’s mailing it in. Either way, he’s simply getting by on nostalgia vs. ability.

Perry taking out Dragon in Chicago would be magical. I really can't think of anything I'd hate more right now. Tease it, fine. Actually going through with it for 15 seconds of viral heat that they'd likely squander? Yeah, no thanks. Bryan deserves better than that.
