So I’ve been intrigued by the NFL fantasy leagues and joined one but seeing as Pro Wrestling is more my thing was wondering how making a WWE league would work and any problems that would arise. So feel free to add suggestions and how you would run it.
I’d give each player a salary of a certain amount, main event guys cost more money etc. televised matches only. Would make it clear you’re much better off drafting full time guys rather than Roman etc. Points added up at the end of the calendar Month. Have to do it manually not via an app too.
Tag teams where you only get points if they win matches as a team. This seems like an issue especially when a lot of tag teams split or get thrown together through out the year.
And for fun have a jobber that you only get points if they lose. Any other suggestions welcome.
How many people on a team would you suggest and how would you handle trades (if at all). Just bad luck if your main person gets injured or released?

I ran one of these on old PW in the WoW forum - obviously the women's roster was/is smaller so the options were limited. I think I gave everyone a $15 budget and priced the champs at $5, those who were regularly on TV at 4 or 3, and the jobbers at 2 or 1.
Points were scored for appearing on TV, being in a match, winning a match, interfering to help someone else win, hitting your finisher - and then all of this on a PPV was doubled. Cutting a promo was a big scorer because it was back in the days when a woman getting to talk was a novelty.

I love the idea and I'm interested.
Regarding unexpected injuries/absences, I'd say if that happens people get their draft money back to spend on another wrestler.

Love the idea. I got a few suggestions.
I would have a "bench" like what other fantasy leagues have where you can swap in and out people on your roster depending if they are booked for matches that week, or injured, or what have you. You could call it "catering." They don't get points for sitting in catering but they are there to swap in and out of other slots if it means scoring more points that week.
Also you can expand certain positions. Like football fantasy leagues usually have 1 QB (main eventer), 2-3 Wide Receivers (mid-carders), multiple Running Backs, Tight Ends, etc. Then you have Flex players that can fit in anywhere, pick a team defence (that could be your tag team or even a stable if there were enough to choose from). Picking an NXT star would be a fun spot to fill too. Do you pick them early in the draft to ensure you have someone like Ethan Page or Trick Williams? Or do you save that for later and hope you still get a good name, or try to land someone that will get a big push this year?
Mine would look something like this:
Male Main Eventer Female Main Eventer Mid-Carder Mid-Carder Mid-Carder Female/Mid-Carder/Flex/Wild Card Tag Team Tag Team Jobber NXT Catering Catering Catering
Also you would have to throw names into certain positions so they can only go in those spots. Like for example you don't want someone picking Roman Reigns as their main eventer then filling up their mid-card slots with Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins & Randy Orton. Just like you can't pick a superstar QB in a Wide Receiver slot in a football draft. It wouldn't be fair.

This is a list I found online for a rough guideline to go by.
Should I scrap part-timers do just have a special division for them ?
I’m thinking not doing a tag division but you can draft tag teams separately. Without the amount of teams that break up/one member has a match while the other manages etc I think it’s too much of a headache to drafts
[SPECIALTY]

My attempt at a roster categorisation based on recent status. I initially put Gunther, Reigns, Punk, Rhea and Cody in their own "top tier" section but with only five people it felt lacking. Same with the main event tag team: maybe one tag team section is enough.
I pay little attention to midcard and lower so may have completely miscategorised some wrestlers.

Ok so this is what I’m thinking, you get 2x in each category, 1 for your roster and 1 for catering (the bench) With tag teams, elect one person from the team and the other stays on the bench. That way if one of the tag members goes down with a months long injury you can swap them out the following month. (You must draft both members of a tag team), 4 in total for the women’s roster (2 roster, 2 catering). You are much better off drafting a full timer than a part timer, so please keep this in mind. Had to scrape some mid-carders into the Main event scene to get enough people for it. 1. sandylea iron maiden Emperor RT Jake1RealSmartAlex Blindy Big Pete Blindy KING KID rattywarrior Thoughts? That seems fair enough. My only consideration is that despite being mid-card champions, both Jey Uso and LA Knight should really be considered main eventers. Especially Jey when you consider Jimmy is in the main event scene - both the US and IC Championship have been elevated under Hunter.
How are points scored?

Especially Jey when you consider Jimmy is in the main event scene - both the US and IC Championship have been elevated under Hunter. How are points scored? I don’t disagree especially in the case of “main event” Jey Uso but the divisions are pretty arbitrary so it won’t mess with the scoring. This is what I’m going with currently: Matches don’t stack so you only get 6 points for winning a title in the WM main event for example, not 15. One Point: Makes an in-person appearance Two points: Has a match Cuts a promo in the ring/has a backstage INTERVIEW Three Points: Wins a match Four Points: Defends a championship successfully (DQ losses will not count) Five points: Wins a championship Six points: Wins the Royal rumble Wins the WrestleMania main event (counts for both nights) Wins MITB Wins Summerslam main event ===== You VS someone each month and then the points are scored at the end of the month, like the NFL fantasy for those familiar: free image hostingI’ll do a mock up draft and score myself on RAW tomorrow to explain better

Can I suggest a change to the drafting order? As last place I am getting the 10th and 11th best wrestlers in every section. An incredible disadvantage, not just for me but everyone in the lower half of the order. Getting first in each catering hardly seems like a fair trade.
My proposal is to reverse every section. By section I mean main event, midcard, tag team, women, women's catering.
So the main event drafting order stays as it is. I'm last to pick in the main event main ection and first to pick in main event catering. Then I'm the first to pick in midcard and last to pick in midcard catering. Then I'm last in the tag team main/first in tag team catering, first in women's (round 1), and last in women's catering (round 1).
More explictily:
Main Event
1. Big Pete 2. RT 3. Jake 4. Rattywarrior 5. The Kid 6. 1RealSmartAlex 7. Iron Maiden 8. Blindy 9. Sandylea 10. Emperor
Main Event Catering
1. Emperor 2. Sandylea 3. Blindy 4. Iron Maiden 5. 1RealSmartAlex 6. The Kid 7. Rattywarrior 8. Jake 9. RT 10. Big Pete
Mid Card
1. Emperor 2. Sandylea 3. Blindy 4. Iron Maiden 5. 1RealSmartAlex 6. The Kid 7. Rattywarrior 8. Jake 9. RT 10. Big Pete
Mid Card Catering
1. Big Pete 2. RT 3. Jake 4. Rattywarrior 5. The Kid 6. 1RealSmartAlex 7. Iron Maiden 8. Blindy 9. Sandylea 10. Emperor
Does that make sense? We still have time to make the change if everyone agrees.

Can we institute time based skips like other drafts? Doesn't seem fair that I should get stuck with LA Knight or Karryin' the Kross, or one of the Wyatt sickos because someone else doesn't draft.

I’ll implement a 12 hour rule after RT makes his pick. I know that’s still slow but kinda hard when we are working with 3 major time zone differences.
