Exact same thing in the Texans game. They scored off the first play from scrimmage because of it.

Garrett Wilson has 7 yards on 1 catch and it was a fumble. I am sure he's getting open and the domination of the trenches by Denver's defense is primarily the reason as well as the weather but Patrick Surtain has been awesome all year. Erased Mike Evans last week too.

Twice Kirk has bamboozled the Texans secondary with a post route and Lawrence has sailed over the top of him.

Well they even states the rule that he can do so to call a timeout if they aren’t acknowledging him and you can clearly see him jumping calling a timeout and then not paying attention.

It didn’t matter and has no bearing on the game since we scored but it’s just incompetent and as you said …. Inconsistency.
