Big match announced last night with Danielson vs. Okada, title vs title. So I'm throwing this up now as I expect there will be more announced and plenty to be discussed today & tomorrow.

That match is really intriguing given the stipulations. The Continental title is defended under special rules (20 min time limit, everyone banned from ringside) so the fact it is the only title on the line for the first 20 mins tells me the match will go longer than that, and does that mean once the 20 mins are up that Moxley & co might show up? Does that result in BCC vs Elite going foward? With Danielson sort of being forced to side with the Elite against a common enemy? Could be very interesting.

Also do we expect any big returns? Rumours swirling that Kenny Omega, Jay White, Adam Cole & Powerhouse Hobbs are all very close to returning and may already be cleared for action. There's also the drama of Daniel Garcia, who has yet to re-sign with the company and is apparently being held off TV because of that. And speaking of TV...do we finally get that deal announcement we've been waiting to hear for like a year?

I am impressed with the commitment to AEW burning through these PPV matches on random Dynamites. I assume as you say that they go 20 minutes, then a fuckton of shenanigans.

It's an interesting dynamic to the match for sure. Danielson will be trying to end the match early so he can walk away with both titles while Okada will be trying to prolong the match so he is guaranteed to at least walk away with his title even if he loses. And yeah, the "nobody at ringside" stip should technically end once the Continental title is no longer on the line.

It would be cool if going forward they used the Continental title gimmick a little more rather than it just be another title that has a special rule. Like the Continental champ can challenge for any singles title whenever they want, but the Continental title is always on the line for that first 20 minutes and they risk losing it and walking away with nothing. You put that thing on a fighting champion like Daniel Garcia or Darby Allin and you immediately have a great weekly storyline with minimal effort.

I just noticed it's the 5th anniversary. Fair enough. I can excuse the PPV level matches. Last week, not so much.

Again I beg the question, what is the connection of MVP and Shelton Benjamin together? They are making AEW debuts(Or well MVP made his last time) how or why is it significant from an AEW lore perspective of them being together?

I agree. I didn't have a problem with how they did the finish to the match, but everything after Okada decked Danielson and stormed out was weird.

Moxley continues to allude to something bigger than him forcing him to be this way, Claudio, PAC and Maria seem to be bought in but it isn't clear if they know what he is talking about or just blindly trusting him, Yuta continues to be awkward...like what was that stand off with Moxley? He just kept shaking the hammer at him and threatening him but didn't actually do anything. It almost looked like he was going to turn and attack Danielson but then he just didn't. Like they did that whole bit like some surprise was coming, but nope. Tag match on Tuesday. The end.

Whatever. Hopefully the pay off is good, especially if they have Mox retire Danielson. If that's all that happens and Mox is just talking in riddles for no reason I'm gonna be disappointed.

I don't see that being said anywhere. They won multiple titles and had a good run, and were going to reunite this year until Lashley and MVP left the company. I think it's more that the reunion was teased and people liked the stable and wanted to see it, but WWE scrapped it and now these guys are available so Tony said fuck it, let's do it here.

Makes me wonder if Cedric's contract is up soon. He hasn't been used much lately I don't think. Then again he's married to Big Swole, who apparently has issues with AEW, so I don't know if he would join given the option. Who knows though.

I think Lashley will answer Jack Perry's open challenge at WrestleDream. MVP will remain manager and Shelton will be an associate/extra body when they need one. Could be fun.

Would be cool if they start adding people. Hobbs needs something to do when he comes back and would be a good addition. I'd like to see them in a feud with Shane Taylor Promotions too. Those would be some killer matches.

That is a WWE group though, why is that being brought into AEW? Different history/lore. Same thing with the Undisputed Era, if people aren't watching WWE, how or why would they know the meaning & relationship between Benjamin & MVP? 

Danielson pinning Okada clean wasn't on my bingo card. Fantastic match that avoided devolving into too much excess. I was fine with the aftermath, it made sense. Yeah Wheeler Yuta is awkward but that's just Wheeler. I'm intrigued by Moxley's cryptic messages although they are bordering on dragging it on without any payoff or further development. Well, Wrestledream isn't far away anyway, so that's cool.

Nice to see Jay White return and immediately feuding with Hangman. However I am still pessimistic about White's path in AEW. Singles doesn't seem to be a big focus for him.

Easiest thing to do is suggest MVP is a business man, and you know.. TK will sign anyone, and he's here to take advantage of that opportunity.

I see it on social media RT, there's a hot take that WWE, particularly Hunter is racist and The Hurt Business were casualties of said racism - not necessarily direct.

More recently there's been reports of WWE being aware of their lack of particularly male, Black representation due to online feedback.

Has Nash made an AEW appearance yet?
