The big talking point heading into the event is around the main event. Despite the long term build, it appears CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre will open the show instead of closing it. In the mean time, the Bloodline tag match is shaping to be the main event with rumours suggesting a big time return which can only point to one guy, The Rock. While the whole thing plays into the Final Boss persona, the Rock will really need to deliver to help justify this spot. Foley put it best when he said that the heel doesn't necessarily provide the heat, but they also provide the interest.
Punk/McIntyre also has the pressure of delivering and they'll really have to deliver one of the best Hell in a Cell matches if they want this to get over. I think they have the potential too, Drew is one of the most physical workers in the business today and I think these type of matches have always been his forte. My mind will always go back to Elimination Chamber '11 when Drew was in the middle of this absolutely brutal angle with Kelly Kelly that made him look so pathetic, yet he turned up to EC and took that match to another level to deliver one of the best matches of the WWE in that year. I presume Punk wins here, so Drew has to do his best to look strong in defeat to keep himself in the game.
It feels too early to blow off Rhea/Liv. I could be way off base, but this seems like the type of match where you bring in a heater for Rhea to face at the Saudi show and then you return to the penultimate match to close out the year.

I could be way off base, but this seems like the type of match where you bring in a heater for Rhea to face at the Saudi show and then you return to the penultimate match to close out the year. I disagree. The Rhea vs Liv rivalry, and by extension Terror Twins vs Judgment Day has run its course. Every Raw there's some bitchy promo (to clarify, not just from the women), then Priest and Rhea take a beating because of THE NUMBERS GAME. It was exciting as hell when Rhea returned, and they delivered on that in the first Rhea vs Liv match. This feels like a lesser payoff, but it should be the one where Rhea wins and rides off into the sunset. The Raw women's championship has been held hostage by those two since Wrestlemania, let's get some fresh blood on the scene. Speaking of fresh blood. Nia Jax vs Bayley is not fresh blood. To be fair, Jax is fairly fresh as champion, but the only intrigue this match has is the potential of Tiffany Stratton cashing in.

Both women’s matches are Summerslam rematches.
Maybe Raquel comes back to help Liv? I’m not really sure how I see that match going.

I can see your point, I just think there's more mileage to get out of this Liv run with her and Dominik. They only officially teamed up at SummerSlam and the only match they've had together was against the Terror Twins. I feel like they've only just scratched the surface, so I expect them to extend it further and have Rhea win it when the odds aren't stacked in her favour. Usually when I see 'manager in a cage' matches, I tend to think something screwy is coming up.
If Rhea does win, do you think they'll do a return match or will she have a new rivalry? I'd like to see the women's championship featured more prominently and it feels like a lot of talent has been treading water. It might be a good time to have Rhea take on Damage CTRL or the Unholy Union. It might also give her an opportunity to call on a protege of her own.

I am not less than somewhat concerned that Punk is going to get injured in his match with Drew; so I don't love the HIAC stipulation.
Who is Metro? Saw Triple H drop a trailer for the PPV on Twitter and told Cody to "take Metro" with him ... I thought it was a tie-in for MetroPCS. 😂

In case I sleep in, can someone inform me whether or not Drew VS Punk ends up outside the cell.
Thank you .

I'm biased as I've always been a huge Drew fan, but they should absolutely be main eventing tonight and it is a bit of a slap in the face that they aren't. The feud-ender of one of the hottest feuds of the year, carried for months while Punk was injured and ending in the Cell but it opens the show? Criminal.
Still, I expect them to deliver. I think Punk will win but I think McIntyre needs it more considering Punk screwed him at Mania and in his hometown. Punk will be fine regardless. Would also like to see some kind of show of respect afterwards between the two.

I feel like they've only just scratched the surface, so I expect them to extend it further and have Rhea win it when the odds aren't stacked in her favour. Scratched the surface in terms of matches, maybe, but the TV segments are repetitive. Perhaps the problem is that Rhea, Damian and The Judgment Day have largely been booked in isolation. Particularly the women. It would have been interesting to see Rhea or Liv wrestle someone else in the division during the past few months. I'm sure Rhea and Liv will meet again down the line but it's time for them both to have some fresh adversaries. There's plenty of choice. Lyra Valkyria comes to mind, or Io Sky. Most of these ladies are involved in the tag division but no reason not to return them to singles for a short program.

Drew/Punk should be the main event. I’m guessing they have something huge panned at the end of Cody/Roman/Bloodline if they aren’t putting Punk and Drew at the end.
