Wrong. It’s a 25% tariffs on items imported, not exported. That means the importer (American businesses) pays 25% more on the goods. Trump works under the idea that US businesses will order less from importers because of the fees, and that how it economically hurts them. The reality is our supply chain is dependent on these countries, so they will continue to buy and pass through the cost to consumers in the form of higher prices. www.newsweek.com/how-tariffs-work-will-trump-plan-cause-inflation-1991653“Trump has insisted that tariffs are paid for by foreign countries, but it is importers—companies in the U.S.—that pay tariffs, and the money goes to the U.S. Treasury. Those companies typically pass their higher costs on to their customers by hiking prices. However, tariffs also hurt the exporting countries by making their products costlier and harder to sell abroad.” Yeah, I'll take Trumps word over somebody from newsweek writing out their TDS BS. At this point KJ , I think we'd be better off talking to a brick wall. Kid is doubling down on his gimmick. No one can be that deliberately obtuse and I know he's not a dummy. He's doing it to goad us.

Holy shit, dude. That’s what Tariffs are. It’s not a new thing. They exist now. You can disagree with the impact they’re going to have, but you can’t rationally say tariffs suddenly behave differently.

You’re arguing against facts of what things are as opposed to the outcomes. There’s no debate on what a tariff is. The debate is how they will impact the economy. And yeah, Trump won, and I’m glad your victory lap is going. Given how partisan you are and how you spoke/speak of the current President, I don’t think you can fault “the other side” for not sucking Trump’s cock like you do every second of the day.

However, tariffs also hurt the exporting countries by making their products costlier and harder to sell abroad.” Honestly, these are weasel words in terms of who pays. For goods to enter the country the tariff must be paid. Often there is no importer and the supplier in China with the FIS contract will have to pay the tariff. The actual mechanism of who actually pays the tarrif is irrelevant, because as you say it is essentially a price rise in the vicinity of 25% I can see the attraction of making imports prohibitively expensive, but protectionism stirs innovation and makes local companies stupid and lazy. I do get the Mexico thing though, it's hard to get companies to preference US jobs versus building a factory across the border with half the Labor cost... I still wouldn't impose tarrifs though. I would also be sympathetic with some form sales tax on companies who declare revenue overseas. If I wanted to I could set up a company in a low/zero tax economy and import all my machinery through that third party quarantining all my profit at zero tax. Tax law is bullshit because it is illegal to avoid tax but legal to minimise it but nobody will state the clear difference.

Not to bring up the dead argument, but the idea Elon has created a free speech utopia is a right wing myth.

Only myths are genders that aren't male or female. Free speech means you can be wrong. That's been a huge point Musk has made.

She's drunk right? Looks like a hell of a bender she's been on. I can't believe anyone thought this video was a good idea.

Good debrief on the Harris campaign team recapping what went wrong.
Harris’s judgement being terrible is a consistent thread throughout.
This still falls on Biden, though.

I mean, staffers discussing it and being open is how you keep the base. Give it a year, and no one will care. Maybe, maybe not. We're still discussing the errors of Hillary, so I don't think I agree. Regardless, the podcast they were is 100% partisan liberal. It's the exact place to have that conversation.

IMO it's still too early and raw to do a deep dive as to why Harris lost, as right now analysis is still here: and whatever the solution is, I'm glad I'm not in charge of messaging because I have absolutely no idea how to do it. People are worried about cost of living? Biden got the rail union the sick days they were about to strike for, lowered prices for medication on Medicare and capped costs for insulin, her platform contained $25k for first time homebuyers, anti price gouging measures but still voters were all "I dunno" oh and also there's this
