2017 Fan Fiction Draft (Again)
Hello friends of fan fic, and friends from the outside. It is with great privilege to announce to you all that after PI threw the idea out, and RT gave the go-ahead, PI and I will be running the 2017 Fan Fiction Draft, and the first ever draft at the new forum. While it's very well known the problems of the old site have forced us to move, we must not dwell on the past, but rather look forward to the future. And while it may be hard to call this new place "home", that's what it now is, and what better way to break freshness and mysterious aura of this new world then by a Fan Fiction Draft. Because if there's anything that can make us all feel better, it's the pain and misery of watching your picks get taken from you. If that doesn't bring the feeling of home to us all, I don't know what will.
Without further ado, I present you all the rules (credit to PB and RT, who I copied the rules from, though I did add my own tidbit.)
(Also, editing and formatting seems to be a real pain in the butt. The spoiler tag shows up three different times before you can view the rules).
THE RULES:
-The number of matches in the tournament and it's match types will depend on how many participants we get. MAXIMUM 16 PARTICIPANTS. Right now, the first number we are going to aim for is 8. However, if the interest does pick-up and more people sign-up, the first 16 to sign-up will be in.
-FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Precedence will be given to active Fan Fiction posters. We are more than happy to welcome other forum members to join us, but know that we will be making sure that any Fan Ficcer that wants to take part will get the opportunity to do so.
-The order of drafting will be back and forth, with one selection per participant for each drafter's first eight picks. The order of drafting would start with Drafter #1 making their first pick followed by Drafter #2, then #3, then #4 and so on until it reaches the final drafter, Drafter #??. Drafter #?? would make their pick for the first round and then pick once again to kick off the second round. The second round would begin, going back down to Drafter #1, who would pick their second round pick and then kick things off for Round 3 with another pick. It's a snake-like format.
-Once all drafters have reached the half way stage, each participant will select two wrestlers each round until finally they have reached a full 16-man roster. Drafter #1 will initially pick 3 wrestlers on pick number 8 with Drafter #?? picking four wrestlers on the eighth pick rather than two now to make up on picks due to their positions in the draft. Following the eighth selection, both Drafter #?? and Drafter #1 will pick four each until finally all 16 selections have been picked.
-The drafting order will be randomly decided once all posters sign up.
Drafting:
-You have 24 Hours to make a pick when its your turn up, which is more than reasonable. If you believe you can't make a pick then PM me or someone else you trust your pick and it will be posted. Try to contact the person that picks after you as it's usually the best way to keep things moving. Anyone that misses a pick won't be allowed to make that pick up until the draft is over, meaning they'll be at a huge disadvantage on who to pick since most good wrestlers and some shoddy ones have gone. (tl;dr - DON'T MISS YOUR PICK).
-If you miss three draft picks, then you will be automatically removed from the draft. Your picks up to that stage will be ineligible to be drafted but if someone didn't get a place in the draft, they may be invited to join in at this stage, using your roster.
-One a wrestler/manager/valet has been picked, they can't be picked again. Additionally another persona of a pick can't be picked. For example if someone picked Dude Love, that means Mick Foley and all his alter egos have gone with him also.
-You can pick anyone you wish, even the deceased.
-You may not reserve anyone. If you've picked one Hardy, you don't automatically get the other one just because he is his brother.
-Post your picks in the Draft Room that will be created following all participants signing up in this thread. This thread will turn into a general discussion on draft matters only.
-Following the draft, each drafter will be paired up randomly and the tournament will begin! Fan Fiction and the rest of PW will then vote their favorite card in each thread with the winners of each match proceeding until finally we reach the final. Each poll will remain open for 48 hours, the final will be open for 72.
-You are required to submit a card using your roster for each round you are in, however that's the extent of it. Be creative, but in the interest of keeping this moving along we won't be throwing challenges at you like in the past.

I at this time do not intend on actually participating in the draft unless we need an extra man, then I'll come in.
