This feels like it's starting to become a slippery slope, but I think in the spirit of openness that's pervading here... yeah, if you were drafting those guys to use in managerial capacities, it seems like the trend is that you can replace them with actual wrestlers.

Actually, to be clear, The Dazz, if I call dibs on folks as managers/valets... I can't then use them in a match as a participant in future cards in future rounds, right? (Assuming I make it outta Round 1.)

While we’re confirming trades I have traded John Cena and Bobby Roode to 🤯 in exchange for Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tetsuya Naito.

I was wondering if it would be ok to use celebrities/music acts in non-wrestling roles, like if I wanted to have Gary Busey sitting in the crowd or a certain singer to sing the national anthem before the show? I would be fine if this was a no-go but I'm curious if this would be allowed?

I'm also kinda cornfused about putting dibs on managers thats going on. Can I put dibs on Karl Gotch and Stu Hart and use them in non-wrestling/managerial roles?

Speaking of Gotch, I'm disappointed that King In The North didn't draft the God Of Wrestling himself, would have went perfect with his theme.

EDIT: I think this swoop up an undrafted person and use them is getting too complicated and was just a bad decision to allow, and I apologize for my bad decision making. I think we should just keep it to whoever everyone has drafted. 

I agree with your conclusion, Dazz. Use who you drafted. There's no need for celebrities and managers.

I've just about got my first entry done. It's so long I can't imagine anyone would actually read it. Fuck it though, it was fun. I basically booked out 4 full weekly shows with my roster to build up to the first supercard, my first entry is basically a summary of those 4 shows(kinda in the format of an Event Program that you would buy at a show) so it's long winded as fuck.

I want to apologize for not picking right away/the mess up for the last picks. Thursday night I started working midnights, and my day/nights have been mixed up. I also used the search feature, but apparently it doesn't work properly??

I feel bad if I encouraged the manager dibs thing or pick swapping at all. In hindsight it all does seem like a hectic mess. In the spirit of trying to make things as open and simple and fun as possible, seems we inadvertently opened the door to confusion and unnecessary complexity.

OK, now that there's a new sheriff in town, let's lay down a few laws...

First, I'm intending to hold to The Dazz's target of announcing match-ups this upcoming Saturday.

In the meantime, the trade window remains open for anyone else who wants to orchestrate trades a la KING KID, PB, and others.

Ideally, I'd like to collect card sooner than later to keep this bad boy rolling. Is by the end of SmackDown! next week too aggressive a deadline for cards?

As far as cards go, you're encouraged to submit something but technically don't have to submit anything.

As far as things to consider when booking your cards...

You can use as much or as little of your roster on a card as you want. You've got a roster of 20 names, but maybe you want to book a one-match card pitting your first pick against your last pick and just not use the other 18 names... that's fine. Or maybe you want to book a one-match card and that one match is a 20-person battle royal... that's also fine. In fact, I'm not even going to limit you as far as how many times you can book a name on an individual card. In other words, you can have a wrestler wrestle multiple matches on a card (the best example that springs to mind is if you wanted to run some sort of one-night tournament). Likewise, I'm not going to limit you as far as how many times you can use gimmick matches. If you feel the desire to book a ladder wars-themed card featuring eight 1-on-1 ladder matches... go for it. This also means that you're free to recycle gimmick matches in future rounds. In fact, you're even free to book the same exact match on future cards (i.e., recycling the exact same main event from your card for Round 1 as the main event for your card in Round 2). Just be forewarned that voters might not appreciate anything that they perceive as being lazy or lacking in creativity.

The ONLY constraint for cards is that you can only book names that are on your roster (whether you drafted them or traded for them). None of this dibs nonsense after all.

The dibs nonsense got out of hand quick, and it's dumb. So it's not happening after all. For anyone who is outright fucked by this, please let me know ASAP so that I can help settle any confusion and figure out a best path forward. Reading back through this thread, I think the number of people impacted by this is relatively small. Going in order, it looks like UT might be impacted as he was torn between Lanny Poffo and Miss Elizabeth. He'll have the option of picking which one he wants to use/keep. Whoever isn't kept can't be used. PB called dibs on Heyman. If PB wants to use Heyman, he needs to drop someone else from his roster. jTjohncenaGOAT seemed torn between Heenan and... Terry Taylor, was it? Regardless, same deal. If you want to use Heenan, just name who you are dropping from your roster to make space for him. @shin, same deal for you... you want Karl Gotch, Stu Hart... even Gary Busey... sorry, bro... gotta cut folks from your roster to make space for 'em. Unless I get feedback from the majority that all managers/valets/celebs are free and available to everyone.

Can't say I'm a big fan of being able to change your picks after the fact, it's not a big enough of a deal to kick up a fuss about it but I just wanted it to be known that I'm not a fan of it.

I've got my first round entry just about done, just needs a few finishing touches, I'll probably wait to see the matchups before I send it in to avoid any plotting conspiracies to get me out of this bad boy, I'm paranoid like that. :lol: 

bodyslam, yes... There will be steals. You can steal up to 2 people from your defeated opponent's roster. You don't have to steal if you don't want to, and you don't have to use steals on subsequent cards if you don't want to.

KING KID, nah... Unless you were briefly caught up in that manager/valet/celeb dibs nonsense, your roster is your roster... Unless you complete anymore trades. If you didn't want someone on your roster, you shouldn't have drafted them. Plus, I can't think of an organized and equitable way to allow everyone access to picking undrafted wrestlers. It just seems like a mess that prolongates things.

I agree 100%,Im quite new to this & learning about it by reading from the more experienced participants of Fan Fiction Drafts but 20 draft picks is more than enough & my opinion is if people wanted Authority figures etc then they should have thought about that at the beginning.

Anyway it's a first for me, I don't have any plans what so ever, I made each pick as it came & I'll be happy to get past the opening round.

Looking forward to it & I plan on sitting down with the picks I made shorty & try devise a card as I am quite happy with my choices overall.
