OK... This has turned into a buttfuck of a headache. I can see why The Dazz stepped down. Anyway... Here's how I intend to deal with all of this, and some of the "why" behind my approach. First... I've decided that we'll go with fixed brackets after all. No need to create any more confusion, and no need to reinvent the wheel that has rolled just fine in previous drafts on the old board. When Round 1 voting ends tonight, I'll confirm the Round 2 match-ups in a follow-up post in this thread. We can then figure out deadlines for submitting Round 2 cards. Secondly but arguably more importantly... I too believe in the integrity of the people of PW and especially the Fine Folks of Fan Fiction! Aside from Kid (-_-), I doubt anyone would reverse their vote in the polls. The fact that the option exists is really nothing more than an aggravating drawback of this message board's setup. Ultimately, when the polls close and the dust settles, the results are the results. That's how it should've been all along, and that's how it'll be in Round 2. That's right, I've flip-flopped and I'm letting the good people of PW have their polls moving forward. The purpose of my original "decree" was an attempt to prevent anyone from getting screwed over. Now it seems like I've screwed over some people despite my genuine attempts to avert such screwing. I issued my decree in this thread on a now-buried page, somewhere it could've been easily glossed over by people participating directly in this thing as well as by casual voters from outside Fan Fiction. I also only issued my decree in 3 of the 8 Round 1 threads. That's inconsistent and unfair on my part. If I really wanted to stand behind my decree, I should've made sure it was clearly posted in every Round 1 thread. That all said, regardless of where I posted my decree, I'll be going with the poll results after all for determining Round 1 winners. This really only impacts Jeff vs. KingInTheNorth (where the poll has Jeff winning right now, and the posted votes have KITN winning) and SM vs. pduh (where the poll has them tied, but the posted votes have pduh in a slight lead). For SM vs. pduh, if the poll results in a tie, I'll use the posted votes as a tiebreaker. For Jeff vs. KITN, here's what I'm thinking... Since I won my Round 1 match-up and would've been facing either Jeff or KITN in Round 2 given the fixed bracket approach, and since both Jeff and KITN had time/technical issues that prevented them from submitting their ideal cards for Round 1, and since their match-up is the one most affected by my decree fuck-up... I'm giving them both a second chance... in a Round 2 Triple Threat Match-Up; i.e. PI vs. Jeff vs. KITN in Round 2. This is my best idea as far as a way to pay for my sins and not totally fuck over an innocent participant. If anyone has any issues with the above, please let me know ASAP. Thanks so much to everyone for your understanding, and my apologies for all the confusion and aggravation! (Copying people affected by this latest announcement so that they hopefully see it and can chime in with questions/comments/concerns/etc.) jTjohncenaGOAT , KITN , SM , pduh , Shootist , UT , shinobimusashi , PB , Baker

I will lose, but not really. Would rather just lose outright instead of that way if I am not going to be moving on.

Problem solved. EDIT: I would've suggested a Round 2 Triple Threat for you, pduh, and Shin... but all three parties would have to be on board (assuming your poll tie stands).

Round 1 Results1.) pduh defeated SM in a grueling broadway, collapsing onto his opponent to unconsciously score the winning pinfall after a double knockout spot in the final few seconds just before the 60-minute time limit expired. *Final voting results: 8 poll votes for pduh vs. 7 poll votes for SM, with posted votes resulting in the same winner.*2.) Shin defeated Call handily in a veritable squash match, scoring the pinfall after connecting with an unnecessary but nevertheless impressive 420 Splash off the top rope. *Final voting results: 14 poll votes for Shin vs. 1 poll vote for Oncall, with posted votes resulting in the same winner*3.) Shootist defeated Raven via tap-out after going into business for himself, legit hooking his opponent, and applying a shoot submission hold. *Final voting results: 9 poll votes for Shootist vs. 4 poll votes for Raven, with posted votes resulting in the same winner*4.) PB defeated bodyslam in near-record time, pinning him after blocking bodyslam's body slam attempt and then reversing it into an inside cradle. *Final voting results: 12 poll votes for PB vs. 2 poll votes for bodyslam, with posted votes resulting in the same winner*5.) UT defeated @theshow via pinfall after avoiding an attempted Showstopper and then connecting with three Touches in a row. *Final voting results: 8 poll votes for UT vs. 5 poll votes for The Show, with posted votes resulting in the same winner*6.) Baker defeated KING KID via pinfall following a Plimpton Plop off the top. After the match, Kid no-sells the finish, grabs a mic, and cuts a promo in which he facetiously declares "I respect you, Bakerman!"... before blindsiding Baker from behind with a chair shot. Kid refuses to let EMTs tend to Baker immediately afterward, which inevitably costs Kid a promotion to a supervisor role. *Final voting results: 12 poll votes for Baker vs. 4 poll votes for The Kid, with posted votes resulting in the same winner*7.) PI defeated Arrogance_Personified via pinfall after capitalizing on the rookie's inexperience as well as some outside interference from RT late in the match. *Final voting results: 12 poll votes for PI vs. 4 poll votes for Arrogance_Personified, with posted votes resulting in the same winner*8.) Jeff and KITN wrestle each other to a no-contest finish. Ironically, considering Jeff's card and the premise behind his fed, it's like a showdown between Jeff's Hulk Hogan and KITN's Ultimate Warrior. Hulk Jeff has other projects outside of wrestling requiring a major time commitment, and Warrior King couldn't come to terms on a new contract (and/or got popped on a drug test) and so disappeared into the nether realm. Jack Tunney/Mr. McMahon/PI then inserted himself into the matter, declaring that there must be a winner. Hulk Jeff graciously offered to forfeit the match, despite having more poll votes. Meanwhile, despite having more posted votes, Warrior King is nowhere to be found. Maybe he's more King Justice than Warrior King, and is off playing softball somewhere. Anyway... In some Russo-rific swerve booking, Tunney/McMahon/PI has decreed that it'll be a triple threat in Round 2 with both Hulk Jeff and Warrior King Justice advancing. *Final voting results: 8 poll votes for Jeff vs. 7 poll votes for KITN; however, posted votes have KITN beating Jeff, 2:1* Round 21.) pduh vs. shinobimusashi2.) Shootist vs. PB3.) UT vs. Baker4.) 🤯/ RT vs. jTjohncenaGOAT vs. KITN
Winners get to steal up to two people from their Round 1 opponent's roster. Round 2 cards are tentatively due to me by the end of Friday, if possible, so that I can start posting threads this weekend. Let me know if this timeline is an issue for anyone. Round 2 winners will be determined exclusively via poll results.

Finished my card just now and sent it to 🤯. I don't know , I love it and once again had a lot of fun making it but I said that about my last card and it was very divisive so we'll see. I'll probably get crushed because Baker never puts out a bad card. Take it easy on my Baker. 🤯 did you get my card? I want to make sure you got it 🤯. Hey 🤯 how you doing? Hey 🤯 good luck in the next round 🤯!

Coming THIS WEEKEND to the second round of the PW Fan Fic draft tournament... Don't miss the second installment of the Best Of The Best series, bigger, badder, better, Best Of The Best 2: The Revenge live from the Royal Albert Hall in London UK. The Eternal Championship Council made the final ruling to add 2 new challengers, 2 new warriors taken from specific moments in time and brought to the Best Of The Best realm, caught somewhere in time. The first chosen by the council is Brock Lesnar... Lesnar was taken from a moment in time on the night of October 20th 2002, the night that he defeated The Undertaker in a Hell In A Cell Match at the WWE No Mercy event. In this moment Brock Lesnar is in his physical prime, just 25 years old at 6' 3" and 290 lbs, the youngest WWE World Champion in history up to this point, an unbeatable force that laid waste to Rob Van Dam for the 2002 King Of The Ring crown before vanquishing "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan with ease and going on to defeat The Rock to win the WWF Championship. The 2nd challenger selected for the Best Of The Best is one of the pioneers of womens wrestling, Trish Stratus... Trish Stratus was taken from a moment in time on the night of December 6th 2004. In this moment Trish is the reigning WWE Womens Champion and is set to compete in a legendary match against her rival Lita in the main event of WWE Raw in a match that would forever change the landscape for women in professional wrestling on the biggest stage.

I'll have my entry done tonight, just about got it wrapped up. For Best Of The Best 2: The Revenge I decided to book out 12 full shows(BOTB: The Pride) to build up to it, and that will be my second round entry, results for these 12 shows. 🤯 just wanted to give you some props for running this thing so well, excellent work with everything you are doing bro. Only issue I noticed is that quoting doesn't show up in some web browsers when it's within another quote box. Can I request that you don't put the entries in a quote box so that there are no issues? My second round entry uses a lot of quote boxes. Thanks bro.

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay... I broke my phone on Friday morning and then was whisked away on a surprise trip to Chicago right after work. Get back in tomorrow, late, so Round 2 threads might not go up until RAW. I think I have cards from everyone, but if not, you've got an extension/extra time to tweak if needed. And shinobimusashi, noted... I'll skip quote boxes this time and see how that works for everyone.

OK, so I spoke too soon/without double-checking my PMs... I have cards from everyone EXCEPT the two guys I was trying to give a second chance to, jTjohncenaGOAT & KITN. I'm going to start posting the other three threads. I feel scummy about posting my own thread with a card without cards from either Jeff or KITN though. I might hold out another day or something and possibly shorten our voting. I'd at least like to hear back from Jeff and KITN as far as whether or not they can/want to get anything in.

I told you to eliminate me. I’ve been working 70 hour weeks. Barely even home to sleep right now. Sorry man. Yeah, I know. Just didn't want it to end like a wet fart after my bureaucratic misadventures, and figured I'd give you another shake. Even if not in an active capacity. Can't imagine the retail-related hell this time of year. What about you, KITN? You still with us... in any capacity? Feel like we need to put out an APB. If I haven't heard back from KITN by the time I get home from work tonight, I'll just throw up the last Round 2 thread with just his and Jeff's roster. For all I know, they could advance on autopilot.

Round 2 cards are tentatively due to me by the end of Friday, if possible, so that I can start posting threads this weekend. Let me know if this timeline is an issue for anyone. Round 2 winners will be determined exclusively via poll results. Round 2 Results1.) Shin defeats pduh with the swift, beautiful brutality of a Gracie like it's UFC1 or something. At this point, producers are starting to wonder if someone should let Shin know this is all a worked shoot, not a legit shoot. That's the second opponent he's sent straight from the arena to the hospital by ambulance. 2.) Shootist defeats PB in a Shoots & Ladders Match, which is a ladder match where the only way to win is by shoot knockout or submission (i.e., there's nothing hanging above the ring... which, yes, makes the ladder pretty pointless). Shootist KOs PB with a battering ram ladder shot to the face. 3.) After going untouched by his opponent for the whole match, Baker puts the finishing touch on "The Untouchable One", pinning UT with an Ironic Twist off the top rope. 4.) PI defeats jTjohncenaGOAT and KITN via double count-out in a triple threat match. Neither Jeff nor KITN actually show up for the match, but PI refuses to win via forfeit and so tears a page outta Al Snow's playbook, wrestling himself until his imaginary opponents get so sick of his shit that they get themselves counted out voluntarily. Despite the literal emptiness of his victory, it's nevertheless enough for PI to feel like he's finally stepped out of RT's shadow. Round 31.) shinobimusashi vs. Shootist2.) Baker vs. 🤯

I'm really shocked that Shootist blew PB out the way he did, I really didn't see that coming, I don't think a lot of PB's kinfolk from the old PW are paying attention to this draft or else he probably would have won on friend votes alone. Shootist pulling off the upset throws a major monkey wrench into my plans, I was banking on stealing a couple of crucial picks for my final card. Right now I have no idea what I'm going to do, whoever makes it to the finals is going to have their hands full against Baker, the top half of his card is going to be unbeatable.
