With Wrestlemania season upon us I figured now was the perfect time to resurrect a cool concept I was first introduced to in an Apter Mag article circa 96 or 97.
The Rules
You must pick a match from every Wrestlemania A wrestler can only be used one time Titles can only be defended one time (1 WWF Championship Match, 1 IC, 1 Tag, etc.) Particular gimmick matches can only be used one time (Can't have multiple cage matches, for example)
Now a lot has changed in the 20+ years since I first encountered that Apter Mag article. The biggest change is there have now been 33 Wrestlemania's as opposed to 11-13. I'm not asking anybody to come up with a 33 match card. That would be silly. So you can choose arbitrary cutoff dates. I'm going to start with I-XI. Then I'll try my hand at XII-?? All the rules will be reset for Round Two (and Three if anybody happens to make it that far).
I- Andre the Giant vs. Big John Studd- Bodyslam Match II- British Bulldogs vs. Dream Team- Tag Title Match III- Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage- IC Title Match IV- Ted Dibiase vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan V- Brainbusters vs. Strike Force VI- Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan- WWF Championship Match VII- Rockers vs. Haku & Barbarian VIII- Undertaker vs. Jake Roberts IX- Narcissist vs. Mr. Perfect X- Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart XI- Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow
*That was much harder than expected mainly due to Martel & Tito low key being in the 2nd or 3rd best match at multiple 'Mania's. Dibiase/Duggan from IV is by far the weakest match on there but it got the nod over even lesser stuff for structural reasons + their relatively big name status.

Does the match card have to limited to matches from consecutive 'Manias or can we jump around?
And does the match order have to mirror the chronological order of the 'Manias they're from?

Does the match card have to limited to matches from consecutive 'Manias or can we jump around? And does the match order have to mirror the chronological order of the 'Manias they're from? No jumping around. That would make it too easy. Though I suppose you can start where you want. Like if you want to start at III rather than I and go to, say, XIII, that would be acceptable. But no skipping! Nah. I didn't even bother with a match order. I just wrote them in chronological order for organizational purposes. I'll do a proper match order now. 1. Rockers vs. Haku & Barbarian (VII) 2. Ted Dibiase vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (IV) 3. British Bulldogs vs. Dream Team (II- Tag Title Match) 4. Narcissist vs. Mr. Perfect (IX) 5. Brainbusters vs. Strike Force (V) 6. Andre the Giant vs. Big John Studd (I- Bodyslam Match)
7. Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart (X) 8. Undertaker vs. Jake Roberts (VIII) 9. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage (III- IC Title Match) 10. Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (XI) 11. Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan (VI- WWF Championship Match)

XII- Owen Hart/British Bulldog/Vader vs. Ahmed Johnson/Yokozuna/Jake Roberts XIII- Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin- Submission Match XIV- Undertaker vs. Kane XV- Mankind vs. Big Show 16- Edge & Christian vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz- Tag Title Ladder Match 17- Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon- Street Fight 18- The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan 19- Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho 20- Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle- WWE Championship Match 21- Batista vs. Triple H- World Championship Match 22- Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus- Women's Title Match
*Or you could go with...
19- Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle- WWF Championship 20- Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels vs. HHH- World Championship 21- Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero
I'm not really married to either option but I'll stick with my original idea.
1. Camp Cornette vs. Ahmed/Jake/Yoko (12) 2. Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus (22) 3. Edge & Christian vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz (16- Tag Title Ladder Match) 4. Mankind vs. Big Show (15) 5. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (19) 6. Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle (20- WWE Championship Match) 7. Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon (17- Street Fight) 8. Undertaker vs. Kane (14) 9. Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin (13- Submission Match) 10. Batista vs. HHH (21- World Championship Match) 11. The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan (18)
*Damn. That's a stacked card and it came a lot easier than I-XI. No Orton or Cena but I'm not gonna beat myself up over that.

Gonna wing this with a first attempt just to warm up the engine...
1.) Two-Fall Triple Threat Match for the European & Intercontinental Titles: Kurt Angle (c)/(c) vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho @ WrestleMania 2000 Looking at the matches I've compiled, I think this is the best way to kick off my SuperCard MashUp. Three men, two titles on the line, and two title changes with the obnoxious heel getting screwed without really getting his comeuppance per se. Hopefully it's a good sign of things to come if Angle, Benoit, and Jericho are jerkin' the curtain.
2.) Mr. Perfect vs. Lex Luger @ WrestleMania IX Heel Lex was always the best Lex. Here heel Lex steels a victory in arguably the best match from 'Mania IX. I chose this as a starting point since it gets big names like Lex and Perfect on my SuperCard MashUp.
3.) NFL vs. WWF: Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Ted DiBiase) @ WrestleMania XI We avoid the political turmoil and revisionist history resulting from this being the main event. Instead, it's buried in the midcard/undercard where it belongs on a SuperCard MashUp. This is like Cody Rhodes vs. Green Arrow Guy considering the other matches on this show. Plus, wasn't this a defacto lumberjack match that kinda gets a buncha other guys some 'Mania paydays?
4.) Kane (w/ Chyna) vs. Triple H @ WrestleMania XV Considering their longevity and relative importance to WWE history, I had to get these guys on the show somehow. But every better option for each individually ended up fucking up everything else. So fittingly they end up paired together in a mediocre at best match from a mediocre at best 'Mania. What the match lacks in in-ring quality it makes up for in swerve-tastic story with Chyna screwing over Kane to reunite with HHH.
5.) The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) vs. Diesel @ WrestleMania XII 'Taker fares better than his lil bro here in a underappreciated hossfest that gets two important names on the show.
6.) Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart @ WrestleMania X Let's follow up the Brothers of Destruction's individual matches with a match featuring the destruction of brotherhood! Why not? Owen pulls off the upset of a lifetime.
7.) Chicago Street Fight: Ahmed Johnson and the Legion of Doom vs. The Nation of Domination @ WrestleMania 13 So I had to get WM13 on here, and almost made boo-boo's by going with matches that would've doubled up wrestlers. This ended up being a safe, fun, relatively inoffensive pick. If nothing else, it's a piss break before the go-home stretch of can't-miss main events.
8.) TLC II for the Tag Title: The Dudley Boyz (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian @ WrestleMania X-7 Is there a greater tag title match in 'Mania history? There might be, but this is top notch and pretty important. Arguably the best match from the best 'Mania of all time.
9.) Icon vs. Icon: The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan @ WrestleMania X8 If you're not putting Rocky against Sultan or Austin, you gotta put him against Hogan. Taking the risky approach of making this match the second to last match because I'm convinced the main event is the only thing that could follow such a true can clash of iconic titans (sorry HHH/Y2J). If you give me the post-match, then at least I get Scott Hall on the show, which I'm a little sad about otherwise.
10.) WWF Title: Shawn Michaels (c) vs. Steve Austin; Mike Tyson is special guest ringside enforcer @ WrestleMania XIV Arguably the most important celerity involvement at 'Mania since Mr. T as 'Mania 1. The crowing of Austin as champ. The final chapter of HBK's career (as far as we knew). The official dawn of the Attitude Era. And despite HBK's "injuries", the match wasn't all that bad.
***
If you're feeling frisky, toss in the Women's Title match from 'Mania XIX, if time permits, between Rock/Hogan and Shawn/Austin to get my girls Jazz and Victoria on the show... Even if it's in a breather/piss break spot.
***
My biggest regrets are not getting Razor Ramon, Jeff Jarrett, Goldust, and Ultimate Warrior on the card for their name value and personal preference.

I'm choosing to do Wrestlemania 6-18 because that's my era where I never missed a Wrestlemania + WM18 just to fill out the card. Singles Match Hollywood Hogan vs The Rock (WM18)
World Heavyweight Championship Match Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage (WM8)
Submission Match Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin (WM13)
Singles Match Undertaker vs. Kane (WM14)
Singles Match The Ultimate Warrior vs. Triple H (WM12)
Tag Team Championship Triangle Ladder Match Edge & Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz (WM16)
Singles Match Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit (WM17)
Singles Match Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lawrence Taylor (WM11)
Tag Team Match The Steiner Brothers vs. The Headshrinkers (WM9)
Brawl for All Match Butterbean vs. Bart Gunn (WM15)
Blindfold Match Jake Roberts vs. Rick Martel (WM7)
Singles Match Mr. Perfect vs. Brutus Beefcake (WM6)
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon (WM10) Some might say (Gallagher Bros trademarked) I cheated, but a Triangle Ladder Match is technically different than a singles ladder match, and I'll take that to the Supreme Court if I have to.

I don't want to retread 'Manias; i.e., I'd ideally like to come up with 3-4 different SuperCard MashUps spanning all 'Manias (although I will reuse wrestlers across separate SuperCard MashUps).
So, with IX though X8 outta the way, let's pull a George Lucas and go back to the beginning...
1.) NFL vs. WWF Battle Royal: Andre the Giant wins after last eliminating Bret Hart @ WrestleMania II Keeps the NFL vs. WWF theme going through at least two SuperCard MashUp 'Manias, gets Andre and Bret on the show, and a bunch of other paydays for guys that I don't think I'm using elsewhere. Someone else can feel free to spot check me. A feel-good win for the Giant to kick things off.
2.) Tag Title: Strike Force (c) vs. Demolition (w/ Mr. Fuji) @ WrestleMania IV The dominant heel Demolition was arguably the best version of the team, and they win their first gold here. I would've loved to have the Strike Force meltdown or the Blindfold Match on this show, but just couldn't make it work. This is an excellent consolation IMO.
3.) Brutus Beefcake vs. Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius) @ WrestleMania VI Beefer gets us feeling good again by ending the Perfect Streak and chopping some locks. I still wish Perfect had won with Genius holding down the leg during the Perfect Plex, but alas... It was what it was.
4.) Virgil (w/ Roddy Piper) vs. Ted DiBiase @ WrestleMania VII Midcardmania continues to run mild as we get the blow-off to Ted's best/first post-Higan feud. Plus, it gets Hot Rod on the show. So there's that.
5.) Jake Roberts (w/ Alice Cooper) vs. The Honky Tonk Man (w/ Jimmy Hart) @ WrestleMania III If I can't get the Blindfold Match, this is my next best option for Jake. An over face, a hot heel, and celebrity involvement. Check, check, check.
6.) IC Title: The Ultimate Warrior (c) vs. Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) @ WrestleMania V Considering what I'm going with for my world title match and main event, this is really my only/best option for Warrior and an IC title match. Plus, it features a title change and gets Rude on the show. All wins in my book!
7.) WWF Title: Ric Flair (c) (w/ Mr. Perfect) vs. Randy Savage @ WrestleMania VIII Perhaps my favorite and the most underrated world title match from the single-digit 'Manias. This is the only way to get Flair on the show, so seems like a totally worth-it compromise. Especially if you give me all the pre- and post-match interviews too. Hopefully Perfect being in Flair's corner is OK. Maybe justify it with some voice-over commentary about him being pissed and severing ties with Genius after losing the Perfect Record?
8.) Hulk Hogan & Mr. T (w/ Jimmy Snuka) vs. Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff (w/ Bob Orton) @ WrestleMania I Hogan was world champ but not defending, so hopefully this is allowed. If not, let me know; I'll retool. In fact, I just realized I might have to retool because I have Piper on the show twice... Once as a face, once as a heel. If I'm given leeway, I stick with this as the main event because it's so important to the 'Mania legacy. If I have to retool, I'll go with the Hogan/Andre rubber match @ WM4, the Bulldog/Dream Team tag title match @ WM2, and a throw-away match from WM1.

Some might say (Gallagher Bros trademarked) I cheated, but a Triangle Ladder Match is technically different than a singles ladder match, and I'll take that to the Supreme Court if I have to. Hmm....I'm 50/50 on this but mostly I just want to hear the defendant's argument. To DC we go! Fun Fact: I was just able to name all 9 Supreme Court Justices off the top of my head. I haven't been this proud of myself since that time I counted all the dimes I ever parted with to see Jeff Jarrett. Breyer....He's the one I usually forget. So I guess that makes him the 1991 WWF Ricky Steamboat of current Supreme Court Justices. 🤯 Props for managing to use the Wrestlemania 2 Battle Royal and not double book anyone. Although....after looking at the lineup it's not quite as hard as I had imagined. I thought about using it as Andre's match for about two seconds before remembering Bret was involved. The Wrestlemania 21 Money In The Bank is another one in that same vein. Damn you three team ladder matches! I'm not bothered about wrestlers appearing as managers or special guest referees in addition to their matches. After all, I'm sure we all used Heenan and Jimmy Hart multiple times. I think the original Apter Mag article did state that every title must be defended one time but I waived that rule because they went title crazy in the late 90s and trying to shoehorn all those titles onto our cards in the later 'Mania era would be a total card killer. For some reason I had misremebered Virgil's big win over Dibiase coming at Summerslam '91. Wait....just checked. Their Wrestlemania match did end in a countout. So now I don't have to go back and tinker with my first card. That's actually a relief.

I'm going to go for X7 to 27 for my eleven since that's probably my peak as a wrestling fan. This was actually way more difficult than I thought it would be, especially trying to get all of the key players involved and have a card that would be fun to watch. Here's what I came up with:
Money in the Bank Ladder Match (24) CM Punk vs. Carlito vs. Chris Jericho vs. MVP vs. John Morrison vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin
Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio (27)
Extreme Rules Match (25) Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
The New Breed vs. The Originals (23) RVD, Sabu, The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer vs. Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker and Kevin Thorn
WWE Championship (26) John Cena vs. Batista
The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton (21)
WWF Women's Championship (X-8) Jazz vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus
Hardcore Match (22) Edge vs. Mick Foley
WWE Championship (XIX) Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle
World Heavyweight Championship (XX) Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels
WWF Championship (X7) The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Tag Team Championship Ladder Match - Wrestlemania 33 The Hardy Boyz vs. The Bar vs. Enzo & Cass vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
Singles Match - Wrestlemania 32 Chris Jericho vs. AJ Styles
No Disqualifications - Wrestlemania 31 Triple H vs. Sting
Triple Threat Match - Wrestlemania 30 Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton vs. Batista
WWE Championship - Wrestlemania 29 John Cena vs. The Rock
WWE Intercontinental Championship - Wrestlemania 28 The Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes
World Heavyweight Championship - Wrestlemania 27 Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio
No DQ - Career vs. The Streak - Wrestlemania 26 The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
...
Technically this is where I fail. My only option now is CM Punk vs. Christian vs. Finlay vs. Kane vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Mark Henry vs. MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin....but it's a Ladder Match (MITB).
This was tough. I started at last year's Mania and just went backwards. I was painted into a corner after like 3 matches.

OK, for a fun personal challenge I've decided to go back and try to do this over again with each SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania spanning 10 'Manias each.
SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania 1-10
1.) The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) vs. Jake Roberts @ WrestleMania VIII With a little more thought and effort, there might've been ways to work Bret/Piper or Macho/Flair onto this SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania, but I don't think the other sacrifices would've been worth it. This is Taker's best 'Mania match until Diesel comes along. Plus it featured a decent backstory and gets Jake on the card. I also think Taker's funeral procession entrance would be a neat way to kick off the show.
2.) Jimmy Snuka vs. Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) @ WrestleMania VI I feel like WM6 didn't leave me much to work with. It was this, Piper/Brown, or Beefcake/Perfect... but I thought there were better uses for Perfect and Piper. Unfortunately Beefcake gets sacrificed, but I'm not sure how unfortunate that really is. I'm willing to trade Rude for Beefcake most days. Plus it gets Snuka on the card, even if he's fading rapidly by this point in his career.
3.) The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) vs. The Honky Tonk Man & Greg Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) @ WrestleMania V Admittedly another administrative move, kinda like the previous match. This at least keeps Bret on the card in some capacity after I settled on Shawn/Razor as my IC title defense (thus eliminating Bret/Owen and Bret/Piper as options).
4.) Mr. Perfect vs. Lex Luger @ WrestleMania IX I'm sticking with this for all the same reasons stated before.
5.) Boxing Match: Mr. T (w/ Joe Frazier & Haiti Kid) vs. Roddy Piper (w/ Lou Duva & Bob Orton) @ WrestleMania II Even if this was the drizzling shits, it felt important to have Piper and Mr. T on the first SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania.
6.) Women's Title: Leilani Kai (c) (w/ The Fabulous Moolah) vs. Wendi Richter (w/ Cyndi Lauper) @ WrestleMania I As with the above match, it felt important to keep certain celebrity involvement a part of the first SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania. Plus it gets another title change on the show.
7.) Tag Title: Strike Force (Rick Martel & Tito Santana) (c) vs. Demolition (Ax & Smash) (w/ Mr. Fuji) @ WrestleMania IV By process of elimination, this became the best tag title match available. It features Demo as hot heels picking up gold for the first time before going on their historic monster run as champs. It also features arguably the first seed in the Strike Force implosion angle.
8.) Ladder Match for the IC Title: Razor Ramon (c) vs. Shawn Michaels (w/ Diesel) @ WrestleMania X I debated long and hard about whether to go with this or Bret/Owen, but ultimately this proved to be the best remaining option for an IC title defense after removing Warrior and Savage from the overall pool of names still available. Stylistically this sticks out as a sore thumb, but I like that it gives us a glimpse of things to come in wrestling's future.
9.) Retirement Match: The Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Sherri) @ WrestleMania VII This seemed to be the best compromise for both guys. Going Savage/Steamboat deprives me of Flair's only 'Mania match and also all of Warrior's IC title defenses. Warrior's only 'Mania matches not involving the IC title are this match and a virtual throw-away against Hercules at WM4. I dunno... This really feels like the best option for all intents and purposes.
10.) WWF Title: Hulk Hogan (c) vs. Andre the Giant (w/ Bobby Heenan) @ WrestleMania III Hogan defending the title against Savage or Warrior presents problems in how those choices would deprive me of other better matches involving Savage and Warrior. Sarge, Yoko, and Bundy just don't cut it from a SuperCard MashUp quality standpoint IMO. I briefly debated Hogan/André from WM4 or sticking with WM1's main event, but this ultimately seemed like the biggest main event available.
SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania 11-20
1.) Light Heavyweight Title: Taka Michinoku (c) vs. Aguila @ WrestleMania XIV Ended up with this via process of elimination. I'm OK with that. As much as I wanted Taker/Kane from WM14, each BOD was better used elsewhere IMO. Meanwhile, this swaps out the Women's title for the Light Heavyweight title, and gives me a short fast-paced opener to kick things off.
2.) IC Title: Jeff Jarrett (c) (w/ The Roadie) vs. Razor Ramom (w/ The 1-2-3 Kid) @ WrestleMania XI I needed to get an IC title match on the card, and this ended up being my best option as the dust was settling. I'll take this over Bam Bam/LT anyway for match quality and since it gets Razor, Kid, Road Dogg, and Double J on the show that spans the entire Attitude Era.
3.) Kane (w/ Chyna) vs. Triple H @ WrestleMania XV Keeping this and the next match for the same reasons as stated previously.
The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) vs. Diesel @ WrestleMania XII See above.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho @ WrestleMania XIX Once I decided that Shawn wouldn't be in a world title match, it reduced my options to pretty much just this.
Submission Match (w/ Ken Shamrock as special guest referee): Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin @ WrestleMania 13 This felt too important not to include. Considering Shawn had the Jericho match and Rock had the Hogan match, I felt totally safe to go with Bret/Austin.
Street Fight (w/ Mick Foley as special guest referee): Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon (w/ Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley & Trish Stratus) @ WrestleMania X7 For a SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania that spans the entire Attitude Era, it feels essential to have a Vince match. While Vince/Hogan might've been more fun, HBK/Y2J deprives me of that option. Which is OK because this match is just as entertaining IMO.
Triangle Ladder Match for the Tag Title: The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von) (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff) vs. Edge & Christian @ WrestleMania 2000 While I like TLC II better than the triangle ladder match, there aren't a lot of better options left to pull from WM16. So this gets the nod, freeing up other options from WM17.
WWE Title: Eddie Guerrero (c) vs. Kurt Angle @ WrestleMania XX It's kinda weird when the world title match is the after-thought on any SuperCard MashUp, much less a SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania. It's even weirder when the world title match is arguably a breather between a proto TLC and the real main even. But that's what happened here. What this match might lack in name value, it at least makes up for in workrate and storytelling. Although it probably ranks behind Bret/Austin and possibly even HBK/Y2J in that respect. Anyway... It gets us a feel-good moment, and gets Kurt and Eddie on the card. Benoit who?
Icon vs. Icon: The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan @ WrestleMania X8 Probably the only match that can hold a candle to Hogan/Andre in terms of magnitude. If only this had also been for the world title.
I'll pause and post here. SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania 21-30 covers some ground I didn't particularly enjoy or follow, so might take some more research. I'll be back to wrap this up.

And to wrap things up...
SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania 21-30
1.) MITB Ladder Match: Edge vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Christian (w/ Tyson Tomko) vs. Kane vs. Shelton Benjamin @ WrestleMania 21 The first has the novelty appeal and gets me the most big names on the card. CM Punk ultimately gets shafted, but fuck him. This match kicks the show off with an action-packed bang!
2.) Tag Title: ShowMiz (The Miz & Big Show) (c) vs. R-Truth & John Morrison @ WrestleMania XXVI I needed a tag title match, and they become increasingly rare through these 'Manias. This worked out conveniently as the perfect option via process of elimination.
3.) IC Title: John Bradshaw Layfield (c) vs. Rey Mysterio @ WrestleMania XXV Same deal applies to the IC title. Pretty slim pickings through these 'Manias. This fit, plus gets two pretty important names on the show. Plus it was an unexpected moment.
4.) Women's Title: Trish Stratus (c) vs. Mickie James @ WrestleMania 22 Greatest women's title match in 'Mania history?
5.) Ryback vs. Mark Henry @ WrestleMania 29 Someone had to draw the short straw, and for me it was 'Mania 29. If only Rock/Cena II hadn't involved the title! Based on other choices from other 'Manias, this was the least bad choice of my remaining options from this 'Mania.
6.) Hair vs. Hair Match (w/ Steve Austin as special guest referee): Bobby Lashley (w/ Donald Trump) vs. Umaga (w/ Vince McMahon & Alejandro Armando Estrada) @ WrestleMania 23 Considering Batista, Taker, Cena, and HBK are being better used elsewhere, the most hyped-up midcard match from 'Mania 23 ended up being the best of the rest. Plus it gets me McMahon, Austin, and celebrity involvement in Trump.
7.) No Holds Barred Match: The Undertaker vs. Triple H @ WrestleMania XXVII My preference would've been to go with the End of an Era HIAC from WM28 and Rock/Cena II from WM29 had it not been a world title match... But alas, this works as a consolation. Plus I wouldn't felt a little dirty anyway using HBK twice (see below).
8.) Retirement Match: Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels @ WrestleMania XXIV If I don't have Taker available, HBK's next best options IMO are Flair, Angle, Cena, and Vince in that order. There are much better world title match options, so Cena is out. I'd rather use Vince in the hair angle. And as good as the Angle match was, it doesn't have the same emotion or importance as the Flair match.
9.) The Rock vs. John Cena @ WrestleMania XXVIII An oddly huge breather between Flair's retirement match and the world title match main event. It's made extra hilarious by the wrong guy winning.
10.) Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title: Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan @ WrestleMania XXX The feel-good moment of all feel-good moments with a well-deserved title win to close the show.
I'm surprised by how well that last SuperCard MashUp WrestleMania worked out. Overall, I'm very personally pleased with all three.

3.) The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) vs. The Honky Tonk Man & Greg Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) @ WrestleMania VAdmittedly another administrative move, kinda like the previous match. This at least keeps Bret on the card in some capacity after I settled on Shawn/Razor as my IC title defense (thus eliminating Bret/Owen and Bret/Piper as options). My man, there was no title on the line for Bret vs. Owen, get that on the card.

My man, there was no title on the line for Bret vs. Owen, get that on the card. But it costs me the ladder match and then I have to find an IC title match. The down stream effects, I think, are losing Shawn/Razor for Bret/Owen (equal swap IMO)... but then: Demo/Strike Force @ WM4 for Demo/POP+Fuji @ WM5 for a tag title match, and Foundation/Proto R&B @ WM5 for HTM/Beefcake @ WM4 for the IC title match replacing Shawn/Razor. Would all that really be worth it? It might be. I considered it for a while. Maybe I did make the wrong call in the end. I could be convinced to revise. Convince me!

No, I don't want to convince you. My brain malfunctioned. I thought you were scratching Bret-Owen because you thought a title was on the line, when it's obvious to me now it was because of already having a WMX match on the card.
I think you did what you had to do.

I've never seen it or read it, but I assume picking between Bret/Owen and Razor/Shawn is a lot like Sophie's choice... whoever that bitch was.

I've just read the titles can only be defended one time rule. I'm going to have to go back to the start.

I'm going to go for X7 to 27 for my eleven since that's probably my peak as a wrestling fan. This was actually way more difficult than I thought it would be, especially trying to get all of the key players involved and have a card that would be fun to watch. Here's what I came up with: Money in the Bank Ladder Match (24) CM Punk vs. Carlito vs. Chris Jericho vs. MVP vs. John Morrison vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio (27) Extreme Rules Match (25) Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy The New Breed vs. The Originals (23) RVD, Sabu, The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer vs. Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker and Kevin Thorn WWE Championship (26) John Cena vs. Batista The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton (21) WWF Women's Championship (X-8) Jazz vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus Hardcore Match (22) Edge vs. Mick Foley WWE Championship (XIX) Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle World Heavyweight Championship (XX) Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels WWF Championship (X7) The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin So I had three WWE Championship matches (X7/XIX/26) which I obviously need to address. So which of the three do I most want to keep? Well that's obviously Austin/Rock. Not only does this match scream Wrestlemania Main event to me, but it's the best match of the three by some distance. What do I put in for XIX? Well it's a really fun show but my hands are quite tied. If I take my favourite match (Y2J/HBK) then I have to lose Michaels elsewhere which I don't want to do. Rock/Austin is already being used as are Benoit and Benjamin from the tag titles match. Which means the best option is Hogan/McMahon, which on reflection actually feels apt having such a 'Wrestlemania themed' match. Next then is 26. If I can't have Batista/Cena then I want HBK/Taker which is maybe my second favourite Wrestlemania match. Which means I need alternative plans for XX and 21. For XX I can for Cena/Big Show as a good way to get both guys on the card and a fun opening match. For 21 I can go for Eddie/Mysterio as another fun crowd-pleaser. This means I need another match for 27 which is the real problem because it sucks. I considered switching to Wrestlemania 2000 to overcome it, but it's maybe the only modern Wrestlemania that's worse than 27. So if I can't have Rey/Rhodes then I have to go for Orton/Punk. Which means MITB at 24 is out which I can replace with Finaly/JBL as a way to get my fellow Belfast man on the card as well as JBL. Many of the stipulations are similar (no dq/extreme rules/street fight) but not technically the same so I can deal with that. Interestingly there's no room for Kurt Angle, Kane, Batista, Jericho, Benoit or Triple H which makes me feel like I could do better. Which leaves me with: Wrestlemania X7 - 27WWE United States Championship (XX)The Big Show vs. John Cena Belfast Brawl (24)Finlay vs. JBL Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (21) Hardcore Match (22)Edge vs. Mick Foley The ECW Originals vs. The New Breed (23)RVD, Sabu, The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer vs. Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker and Kevin Thorn Extreme Rules Match (25)Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy Women's Championship (X-8)
Jazz vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus Street Fight (XIX)Hulk Hogan vs. Mr. McMahon CM Punk vs. Randy Orton (XXVII) Career vs. Streak (XXVI)Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker WWF Championship - No DQ - (X7)
Steve Austin vs. The Rock

Upon review, I realize PB was actually being a PB. My bad! I guess I should say don't be a 🤯 and make wild accusatory posts without reading things thoroughly first... But everyone already knows they shouldn't be a 🤯.
