I'm still not sold on Las Vegas. Yeah they're obviously a great team and have performed way better than anyone expected, but in my opinion Los Angeles beat themselves. Nobody could score to save their lives and the Kings were down Drew friggin Doughty for one game. Quick managed to keep every game winnable (all 4 games were 1-goal games and one went to double OT) and nobody helped him.

Sweeping the Kings in Round 1 is a pretty big accomplishment for any team, especially an expansion team, but look at how the Kings have been declining over recent years, how that series was pretty even despite the sweep, and reality is going to catch up with them eventually. San Jose, Nashville, Winnipeg...and that's all before you even get to the finals and play whoever claws their way out of the East.

Fully expected the Leafs to lose this game. Only problem is, I didn't expect them to outplay Boston and then still lose. That part sucks.

Someone asked me today if I thought the Leafs would win and I said no. No joke, I literally said "I bet Boston scores early and the game ends like 3-2 or 4-3." I saw this game coming a mile away, and anyone that watched the Leafs this year should have seen it coming too.

But, these games happen in the playoffs and this is a perfect example of why you can't get blown out in the first two games EVER. You lose two close ones, hey, shit happens. You're still feeling good, feeling the momentum, and whatever they did to win in Game 3 could easily be carried over. But when you have two games like they did in Boston, play your ass off to win Game 3, then give up an early one in this game? You're done.

I didn't expect the Leafs to get manhandled in the first two games. Nobody did. But when they drew Boston in round 1, I didn't expect them to advance either. I wanted Tampa to be honest. The Leafs always looked good against them this year, and Tampa is much more the Leafs style. They don't do well against gritty teams when it matters. Tampa and the Leafs are very similar in style and I really think if the Leafs played them we'd be looking at a first round upset instead of whatever the fuck this is.

Well, might as well make it 51 years and counting.

With that fluky overtime goal and another loss tonight the Blue Jackets missed a huge opportunity in the first round.

To quote a great Winnipeg musician, the Jets are already Takin' Care of Business!

Downtown Winnipeg is gonna be insane.

There is less than twelve minutes left, safe to say the Jets are moving on to the second round.

The Jets officially moves on to round two, let's see if the Predators can beat the AV's tonight.

It's gonna be hell for any road playoff team playing in Winnipeg. Probably the best home ice in the league.

I have many thoughts on what I just watched, but I will not be sharing any of them until I have slept and am not drunk.

My nerves are on the fringe for tonight. In between this, and the Raptor game, this is gonna be a very fateful night.

I don’t really watch hockey unless it’s the Rangers and I’m home in the playoffs or a game 7. I’m literally watching Game 7 tonight rooting for the Maple Leafs for you guys.

However, I have a feeling the Bruins win. I wouldn’t be surprised if he Raptors fall too.

WOW. By an inch that goal was stopped by Toronto. Almost a tie game.

This game is fucking tense!

It's 51 years now.  I can't take anymore of this.  NOT ONE YEAR MORE!!!

But at least he manned up by taking the blame.  So I can't say that 100%  Maybe 75%, but not 100%.

Super excited for the Jets/Predators series. Excellent challenge for the Jets. And both fans are absolutely invested into their teams. A lot of good match ups.

Stoked for the series to start tonight!

Alright I've collected myself...guess I can post some final thoughts.

As usual, a lot of loud fans and media idiots (specifically Steve Simmons and Nick Kypreos) are calling this loss a collapse. I don't see it that way and I don't think anyone should.

Something fans need to keep in mind:

-The Leafs are a year ahead of schedule on their rebuild. They weren't supposed to make the playoffs last year.
-They are still very young. Auston Matthews is 20. This was only his second year in the NHL. Their core players are all under 24.
-A lot of things happened that worked against the Leafs. Kadri's moronic suspension, poor defending, the Bruins shutting down their top forwards, playoff inexperience/not knowing what kind of shit they can get away with (apparently you can kiss, lick and punch other players in the back of the head while they're down).

I'm sad they got knocked out, but I'm not disappointed. They took the best team in the east to game 7 after being blown out in games 1 and 2. They exceeded expectations for a 2nd year in a row. They did the fans proud until the final whistle, and while it hurts, this is still progress and this is still a team that is headed in the right direction.

Can't wait for October.

I'm at Calgary airport watching the Preds/Jets highlights and the colour on the TV is messed up. It looks like Nasville is wearing pink.

To be honest I don't hate it. PK Subban looks very cute.
