Got a friend who is really into going into the gym and has always wanted me to go with him to, in his words, "fulfill my potential".
I finally promised him in early December I'd go with him soon, and we started on Monday. I'm three days in, and it's the worst thing ever, yet the best thing for me. I hate it so much, but I'm glad I'm doing it.

I think I feel some power, if power means pain.
So far I've done abs (which I do everyday), chest and arms, legs, and back. I hate it. But I'm happy I'm doing it. Now I just gotta make sure I don't fall in to temptation of bad eating habits as I work out. Especially soda.

That is awesome, feel the power! Do legs Fuck legs! Leg day = skip. Just kidding. Actually just cobbled together a power rack in my basement because I got so sick of the fucking turds at the gym. We should start a PW accountability club to help encourage each other to stay on track with our fitness goals and progress.

Good job Dazz. Combine that with no soda and you're on your way to becoming a sexual tyrannosaur.
I hope you didn't sign a gym contract though. Hopefully you just tag along on your buddies...

Tomorrow is my last day for the week. I go monday-friday, weekends off (mostly because I nor my friend don't have time on weekends and we want the rest days). I'm sore, but happy I've made it through the week. I've eaten relatively healthy. Nothing super nutritious, but a step in the right direction. Have had nothing but water to drink this week. Though tomorrow I work, and we get free drinks, so that's when I drink soda the most.
Also, no I don't have a gym membership. I just tag along as a guest.

Can you limit yourself to one soda, or is that asking too much of the will power reserve? Soda is legit the greatest obstacle in the path toward fitness.

Proud of you Dazzler, hitting the gym solves so many problems for me, helps anxiety a lot. I just go 3 days a week, Wednesday I do chest and triceps, Thursday I do back and biceps, and Friday I do legs and shoulders. This has been working really good for me because I can be fresh at work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and all the soreness and tiredness takes place Thursday and Friday and I got the weekend to heal up. I love those Friday night legs and shoulders work outs because the little gym I go to is usually completely empty on Friday nights, I can put on something like this:
and just get fucking nasty with it, screaming and grunting and shit.

Also, no I don't have a gym membership. I just tag along as a guest. Do that as long as you can. Do a google search on cancelling a membership and you'll get some horror stories. Then again if you continue to take fitness seriously you may not even want to stop going...

Then again if you continue to take fitness seriously you may not even want to stop going... Really? I wonder if it depends on the gym/chain. When I cancelled my LA Fitness membership last October, I just walked up to the front desk like I was pissed and didn't give a shit about living on this planet anymore, and told the receptionist I wanted to cancel my membership. She said ok. Scanned my card, said I'd get an email confirmation, and I did. No attempt to keep me on. No threats from their side. Nothing. Honestly, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be... And so now I wonder where I got it in my mind that cancelling a gym membership is a difficult thing, and I wonder if anyone who does encounter trouble encounters it because they signed something stupid in the first place and are trying to violate terms that they agreed to.

I've only joined one gym and while it wasn't the nightmare you'll read on Google, it was kind of annoying I was lied to. I signed up originally to get into shape for basic training and after a few months of use I found what I was using it for wasn't worth it (I could do the same stuff at home since I wasn't lifting and simply going for cardio. That and my ship date went from six months to six weeks). Spoke to the front desk, gave my reasons and they said okay it's cancelled. Next month I was charged again. I went back and they told me whoever I spoke to was incorrect you have to fill out a form and all that. Filled it out and wasn't charged the following month, but also refused to give me back money for the current month. Vowed it was the last time I'd join a gym or allow them to get their grubby mits on my card number in the future. Of course if I experienced some of the things I've read from certain chains... I'd probably have gone Allah Akabar on Fitness Centers. People no doubt don't read contracts. They see fancy flyers that advertise 10/mo. cancel anytime and that's good enough. Sadly it's probably written in there that you have to submit your cancellation in writing (certified letter) with 30 days notice otherwise you'll continued to be charged because automatically billing. And if the gym gives you the run around about fulfilling your request some people decide to either do a charge back with their credit card or simply change their card number, so they can't bill them anymore. Except now the gym sends your ass to collections and a few years later you check your credit and you have a bill for several hundred because the gym kept trying to run your card that no longer works. But maybe Dazz's place is different.

But maybe Dazz's place is different. Don't get me wrong... I'll never vouch for gyms, especially from ownership's perspective. They're half the reason I said fuck it and built my own setup in my basement. The other half was the variety of gym-going turds clogging up the place. Whether do-nothing socializers or pumped-up poser bros (poser as in literally striking poses to admire oneself), nothing ruined my workouts/drained my motivation quicker than having to wait to do something miserable like squats. If I'm gonna do squats at all, my best odds are getting in there and attacking them ASAP. Not milling around and letting the thought of them and associated dread build up in my head.

Everybody has been super sick here, I've been able to avoid it thankfully.
I wonder if AM ever made it over to the new board? I want to talk about non-wrestling things that are worked, like Roller Derby. Something I just remembered right now is Medieval Times. We took a field trip there in Dallas in the 6th grade and it was so amazing, it was like pro wrestling but it was with swords and horses and shit. You got to be a bad ass to work a jousting match on a live horse! I also remember sword fights with pyro effects, sparks shooting off of the swords on contact. There were characters, good guys, bad guys, it was dope as fuck. I wonder if that place is still open, hell they need to televise this shit!

Ugh, everyone in my family has been sick on and off since Christmas. Stupid holidays.
I've been told I'll have a laptop by next week sometime. So no more of this "peeking in on my phone and not posting and being a terrible mod" stuff. Hopefully.

I'm freaking out right now, it's fucking 8 degrees here this morning. This is the coldest it's ever been here in my lifetime, so much for global warming.

Climate change and global warming are different. One is a cause, one is an effect. Or something.
All I know is that cold weather when it isn't supposed to be cold is also a sign of climate change, and that the Earth getting hotter isn't the only thing fucking everything up.
Or something.
Good(ish) news, I have a laptop. It's shitty and old and barely runs, but I have one. Work gave it to me to hold me over for the time being because they want me to help out with quoting jobs, and my brand new fancy HP laptop will be in my hands sometime in the coming weeks. They told me on Monday it would be here next week, then immediately changed that to "maybe a few weeks, we don't know, we fucked up the order and just found out after we called you."
Whatever. Point is when I'm stuck at work with nothing to do I can access PW again! yaayyyyyy

So I can’t remember if I announced it here, but I’m relocating again! I’ve accepted a promotion and we’ll be moving to Charlotte next month.
Can’t wait for the next adventure.

Congrats KJ. I think I saw you post about it way back but I might be mistaken. Either way, that's great news.
I went to Charlotte once for a business trip way back when I first started doing fire alarm work. One of the training facilities for the company I was with was there. I spent 10 days there but didn't get to do very much tourist stuff as they wouldn't let us rent cars and if we wanted to go out on our own time we had to take a cab. Of course they stuck us at a hotel outside the city so cab rides were expensive. A shuttle took us to and from training and the airport the other times.
Anyway, the one day I had off a few of us went downtown, and nothing was going on because there was a NASCAR race happening and everyone was there. I also remember that the Panthers were playing the Bills....in Buffalo. But the trip downtown wasn't a total bust because I do remember that they had some pretty awesome restaurants. I tagged along with a guy that had worked at that office before so he knew some good places to go for barbecue and drinks. I couldn't tell you what the places were called but it was good!
Also this was in like 2009 so I'm sure the downtown is different than when I was there. I also remember the drive to and from the airport being very nice. I was there in the late fall/early winter and it was like 20 degrees C and everything was green.

That’s awesome, RT. I’m not super familiar with the area, but we cannot wait to get there next month. Hilarious part: we just built and closed on a house in Cincinnati, so we’re going to put it up for sale before we ever move in.

Hilarious part: we just built and closed on a house in Cincinnati, so we’re going to put it up for sale before we ever move in. Ha, nice. Do you get penalized or anything for doing that? When we bought our house here in Saskatchewan we were locked in for 5 years on our mortgage rate. It was good because we got a low rate, but bad because when I got laid off in August and we considered moving to Ontario it was almost impossible to sell our house for the price we needed to cover the penalty for breaking our mortgage before the 5 years was up. We had the option of porting our mortgage to a new house to avoid the penalty, but we had to sell this place first and port the mortgage within 90 days or else we lost it and paid the penalty anyway. Ended up not being an issue because I managed to luck out and find a job in Saskatchewan, it was just a headache for us for a while because we didn't expect for me to find anything here. The job market is very tight.

Change your share of diapers, get up when it's your turn and everything should work out. You'll blink and a year goes by...then you blink and it's 2...etc. It's awesome...no one here will tell you any different. Good luck.

Quite possibly, PIzzle.
As for him being like me, well I can’t say I’m worried about that yet. I’m already planning on buying his first pair of Jordan’s and making him a fan of sports and wrestling. It’s the wife who is worried about everything else. I didn’t turn out that bad and I enjoyed life. I just want him to have a successful journey in it and go through less then I went through. Through all the fun and wild times I had, I also had some equally rough ones too.
