Finished second season of Making a Murder. My mind continues to be blown. I just wish real-life timelines would conform to TV season schedules though. The ending was a little anti-climactic and a bit of a cliffhanger since it essentially catches us up to present. From a TV perspective I think they definitely rushed putting out more content for the sake of it. And while seeing how Zellner was attempting to discredit the evidence was interesting - there was SO much of her that it felt like a show about her (which I think is exactly how she would like it!) rather than a "documentary". I totally presume she only took the case because of the guaranteed publicity. Despite advancing interesting points and challenges and me appreciating her digging in, couldn't shake the feeling of how much she rubbed me the wrong way the whole time.

RE: The Walking Dead mid-season finale. For fuck's sake, I hope they didn't really just kill Jesus, but he certainly seemed to be dead there on the ground. If he's gone, they're just bleeding top characters at this point. Down to Michonne, Daryl, and Carol basically for real badasses, with some okays like Euguene and Ezekial, and some holy-hell-you-sucks like Henry and Enid. I did enjoy the episode overall, but hell. On a different note, Black Lightning did perfectly with the casting of Tobias Whale. That albino muhfucker scurry.

TWD Worst part about losing Jesus is it means Tara is probably the new leader. Her high placement on the credits made me think she was post Maggie anyway but ugh. I was hoping for major comic spoiler to be the midseason so as to not prolong the arc but with people leaving or dying there isn't gonna be many left if they do it. Maybe just give the moment to Henry because fuck him lol.

It looks like Daredevil won't be returning for a fourth season... disappointing.
At this point, I half expect Jessica Jones to get canned as well, funny the one I least liked out of the Marvel/Netflix shows, is the only one not to be cancelled yet. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if JJ and Punisher are given the ax after there next seasons air as well.

Yeah, I was afraid of that after the amazing 3rd season, which also means for certain Punisher, the best version of the material to date, also won't be renewed after the second season. Bummer.

That sucks. Of all the shows I figured they could keep doing DD even if the others were canned. Guess the TV part is done.

I don't understand getting rid of the quality ones , surely it can't be a numbers thing because DD's third season has barely even had a run. I loved Daredevil though and am sad to see it go - I want more time with those characters.

Watching the Flash...Chris Klein seems to regress as an actor with every part. He did young awkward guy well, but old not purposely awkward is just...NOT GOOD.

It sucks DD is gone, I totally forgot about the Disney factor when making my statement on the previous page. No doubt now Punisher and Jessica Jones will get canned after their seasons. I hope Disney has the common sense to leave well enough alone with Daredevil and Punisher once their streaming service is ready.

Just came to bitch a little. When Supernatural was pre-empted for the California wild fires, I completely understood, serious business, people need updates. But I start watching one of my recordings from the last Friday, and BAM breaking News: George HW Dies. And it goes into a huge telecast about his life. I'm sorry, but "Guy who used to be important dies at a very old age" is not interrupt a show worthy breaking news. Throw a banner at the bottom of the screen, we're good. Everybody already knows anyway, every single social media site, which are getting a hell of a lot more views than NBC at 10 PM, has it covered.

I started Homecoming. Has a really unsettled feeling through the first half which gives some good tension and episodes are short which is nice.

Almost caught up on Peaky Blinders. Two episodes left. Not the greatest show ever but certainly a fun watch. The quality of the show gets consistently better as it goes on.
My only gripe is this current season seems a bit too gratuitous. I feel like every story has just been fan service this season, and it’s become a bit of a mess. Hoping for a clean ending.
Oh and Adrien Brody is in this season playing a mafia hit man and all he’s done for the role is an extremely bad Don Corleone/Marlon Brando impression. Like, it’s bad. He copied the voice and the mannerisms and everything. It takes me out of every scene he’s in.
Thank fuck for Tom Hardy. He’s easily the best part of the show.

I don't know if reality television counts for this thread or not, but Wife and I are pretty hardcore into Botched. We just watched a recorded episode that involved an eye surgery. That shit gets us jumping and squirming way more than any horror movie ever could.

I don't even know what to think. The show transitioned big time away from a crime family drama into something I don't even know what. They threw together a lot of ideas in the last 20 minutes of the episode, then ended on something crazy that felt really shoe-horned in. Between this season and the next the show is going to change dramatically and I don't know if it'll even be the same show anymore, which is annoying to think about considering they want to do 3 more seasons and I was liking it. Hopefully it's not terrible. ... Started Narcos: Mexico last night. So far it's interesting, I guess. Lots of talking and plotting to set up the show, so too early to tell how good it'll be. Diego Luna seems nuts so far, I'm interested in his character the most. Michael Pena could go either way. He's a pretty solid actor so his role should be good as well.

Almost finished with Killing Eve, catching up on shows frequently on critics top list. It’s great, probably my favorite show this year.

I started watching Travelers. I had never heard of it until a few days ago, but it is pretty darn addicting and I'm almost through the first season now. I'm surprised it's such an unknown show. Pretty cool action sci-fi about time travelers taking over people's bodies to prevent catastrophic events.

History channel's "Vikings" is set to end with season 6, really kind of season 8 by most show's standards, as (like season 5) it'll be split into 2 half seasons, ending in 2020. But if it's like season 5, those half seasons are 10 episodes long, which is about what you'd expect for many hour long non-procedural dramas to be for a season. Still been one of my favorite shows on TV from episode 1, unexplained time jumps can be a bit jarring at first (often entire months, or even years, passing between episodes...sometimes in the same episode), and some things can feel drawn out, but still kept me fascinated; even one of the most unexpected turns I can remember, and managing to still keep me enthralled. Here's to it.

I watched the first five or six episodes of Vikings and thought it was just overall a pretty bad production and I stopped watching it.
I'm not sure how it consistently gets such high ratings. Maybe it improved after the first season?

Finished up the second season of Punisher, really disappointing it's pretty much certainly done. Finally seeming to step up to the full war on crime at the end of the season. Going full Punisher, always go full Punisher.

I finished up Travelers. It's a pretty solid show. Really interesting plot mechanics with all the time-travel and whatnot. Weak ending that you can tell they rushed because they may not get a new season. But what the show mostly amazed me with is that it maintained a high interest level from me despite nothing being particularly amazing like the acting or the cinematography. Just interesting and well-paced, I guess.
I also started watching Legends with Sean Bean of Game of Thrones fame. He carries the show on his back hardcore the entire time, but it's not enough. I don't know if I'll be continuing it. The acting is just God-awful other than him and the story is totally unbelievable and poorly executed. Also looks like it was shot on someone's iPhone.

Legends doesn't go anywhere significant and gets cancelled after the second season anyway. Honestly no big loss to not stick with it. It's entirely Sean Bean being amazing that makes it anywhere near worth watching.

Found a quirky little British comedy-drama called Fresh Meat.
If you're a fan of The Inbetweeners, this might be up your alley. The plot revolves around the lives of six students in Manchester living in a shared house off-campus. Stars comedian Jack Whitehall and Joe Thomas of The Inbetweeners.

Fresh Meat wasn't a bad show in it's day. I lost interest around Season 3, but it wasn't a bad companion piece to the Inbetweeners and Skins.
That was my introduction to Jack Whitehall as well. He was the star of the show and I was interested to check out his other work. I sat through Bad Education, and I wish I hadn't.

While I still think season 5 was the perfect ending, I'm kinda glad Supernatural is still going for episodes like Lebenon. 300th episode hit the mark damn near perfectly, a bit rushed, could have benefitted from a 2 parter, but still a great episode with a lot of heart, real tug at the heart strings.

Anyone watching True Detective Season 3? I loved the first season , wasn't into the 2nd and haven't heart much about Season 3 other than from HBO shills - so I was curious as to what's the scoop on it before I sit down and try to get into it?

Finished up the second season of Punisher, really disappointing it's pretty much certainly done. Finally seeming to step up to the full war on crime at the end of the season. Going full Punisher, always go full Punisher. That final shot of the season was what they've been building to for two seasons plus Daredevil now, and Netflix is going to cancel the show. I'm fucking pissed. ... Watched Russian Doll over the weekend. It's surprisingly good. I didn't have very high expectations and I find Natasha Lyonne very hit or miss in the few roles I've seen her in, but she was good in this. And with the episodes only being 25-ish minutes long it was a very easy watch. If a twist happened (which happened a lot) you didn't mind staying up for one more episode, which is why we crushed it in a couple days. Very good show. Can't go wrong if you watch it.

Looks like Michonne is leaving TWD. This might be heading towards the end. I haven't watched any of this season and I read some synopsis of what's been going on. I don't believe I'm missing anything because it sounds terrible. And I'm very annoyed because I know who the villain is this season and there's no way they don't ruin the whole story, especially with the show likely coming to a close. This is Venom in Spider-Man 3 all over again.
