Yeah, that's a major bummer, turning the last half of S3 into the finale, should have gotten a proper final season. Hopefully it's either A) a fitting conclusion or B) picked up by another outlet for being completely awesome. I had faith in AMC because Hell on Wheels was never a ratings hit, and that got 5 season; but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's over. Both Netflix's remaining Marvel shows have been cancelled. Poor Jessica doesn't even get to air her upcoming season before she got the ax.

Really is a pity about Punisher, the best version to date, and was finally to full on Punisher mode.

Finished binge watching Netflix's Titans which was wayyyyyy better than I ever thought it would be. I'm excited for Doom Patrol. Now starting on Umbrella Academy. 3 episodes in and loving it.

I just finished my second viewing of season 1 of The Wire last night. I've finally got my mom and both of my brothers watching it so I figured I'd rewatch it again myself. I must have either slept through multiple episodes or just accidentally skipped a few because I noticed so many things that I missed on the first go around. Really enjoyed it way more this time. Such an excellent show on so many levels.

I didn't realise how interesting the police beaurocracy stories were until my second viewing. It certainly made Season 2 more palatable after it felt like a huge lot of nothing happening until they finally got the gang back together. Same deal with the Barksdale organisation. I had such a tough time keeping up with all the characters, I didn't realise how strong Wey-Bey and Stringer were in that initial season.
Season 4 is still my favourite season of the show, and my favourite season of any show, period. However, 1-3 is a serious hit of amazing television. Some people rely on coffee, pre-mix and stuff for inspiration, just give me a couple of good episodes of The Wire and I want to change the world.

Went to town yesterday and scored the first season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I remember really enjoying the first few episodes when this first came out, then I missed a few episodes and was never able to get back into it because I was lost on the story. I watched the first episode again last night and holy shit it was EXCELLENT! I'm putting this on hold until I got a whole day to binge all 9 episodes at once.

That is a very entertaining show. I watched all of it a long time ago and thought I was the only one. Summer Glau is one of my favorite actresses and it's hard to be disappointed by anything she is in. Even if the show is terrible like The Cape, it's still worth it.

I am very confident in saying this is probably the best show airing right now. All I needed to see was "JK Simmons" and I started watching it immediately without even reading the description. JK Simmons plays both of the main characters. I said Travelers was a good scifi earlier, but that was just a good show. This show is fucking fantastic. Completely different league. We're talking Game of Thrones level quality here.
And yes, it is a scifi, but that is only an ever-present plot device that constantly creates enriching and interesting stuff. But it's not a genre specifier in this case at all. This is almost 100% a spy thriller with tons of action and intrigue. I think almost anyone would enjoy it. Definitely give the first episode a watch to check it out!
If you liked JK Simmons in Whiplash, you'll like him here too. At least...one of him.

Gotta say, language censorship has really blown back since the People vs OJ Simpson dropped the word "Fuck." I mean, fucks have been coming left and right since then, but watching the Magicians on SYFY, just straight up said "Cunt." Like, cool, no longer that arbitrary bullshit of bare asses and hardcore violence, but no naughty words.
Sucks it took OJ murdering two people to start us down this road.

Honestly I watched the first episode of season 2 and just kinda lost interest but this post kept me going, I got back into it and I'm up to episode 4. Really enjoying season 2 way more this time around so far. It really amazes me how well written this show really was with the way this story has unfolded in season 2 so far. I'm definitely way more in tune with the story on this second viewing. I didn't like season 2 at all the first time.

For the Australians,
Underbelly Season 1.
It's been over 10 years since this release, and it doesn't age well. I'm not sure whether the acclaim at the time came from the grandeur of the production, at least to Australian standards, or solely the familiarity of the gangland wars for at least the Victorians - maybe both. It's a muddled mess of storytelling in the beginning, often irrelevant, and not in the ironic sense either. Whether it's an attempt to broaden the scope of the war or to paint Melbourne in the 1990s as a character in itself, I don't know. It straddles this line between the notorious crime story and almost an attempt to at comedy. Then there are these over-styled scenes that feel out of place at times, whether its overall an attempt to replicate Guy Ritchie's snatch or Lock, Stock.. I don't know. And I would state, part of the reason why the next handful of Underbelly stories have been universally underwhelming, is they didn't have the draw that is the Melbourne Gangland War behind it to prop it up.
The real war, is ripe for a retelling, a better production all round.

I know no one cares on PW anymore (or anywhere judging by the ratings) but I love Alpha from TWD. The comics version I was very meh on, but I'm #allin here.

Season 8 will be the last for Arrow, 10 episodes. Most predicted he'd likely be sacrificed in the crossover. This almost feels like a confirmation. Wonder if Crisis is taking place of the other 13 episodes of the season or what. Might be heading towards the end of the Arrowverse with SG probably getting cancelled due to ratings as well. Dunno what the future is for Legends but it's really the most fun of all the stuff they do.

@big Pete mikec GTFIH! I just finished season 2 of The Wire, was so into it that I watched all 3 of the last 3 episodes of the season just now in a row. It's really remarkable how much more I was into season 2 on this second viewing. I went from thinking it was the worst season to now thinking it was maybe the best season. That was really so fucking great I don't even know what to say, I was just thoroughly wrapped up in every detail of this show/season and enjoyed it so much. Also it's like actors who were in The Wire are in EVERYTHING. I marked out so hard when Bubbles pops up in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

When you don’t spend the first three- four episodes trying to figure out who everyone is it gets way better.
Season three is probably the one that grew the least with me on rewatch of the first four, but we knew most of the season three folks already other than Marlo’s crew.
Also true story about Bubbles - because Simon has such luck casting people really from the life, Andre Royo has a hard time getting cast in anything else because everyone thought he really was a reformed dope fiend.
A book about The Wire came out last year with interviews from everyone. Quick and interesting read.

Solid return for American Gods, didn't quite have the Fuller charm, but was still visually interesting throughout. Final scene was certainly more graphic than I'd been expecting, even from this series, but for me, I appreciate some good next level violence (in the fictional sense). Have to see how the story holds throughout, and if the new Media is any good (pity losing Anderson).

I think Star Trek Discovery and Daredevil S3 are the best television I have seen. Watching Designated Survivor which I loved at the start, but it fades out around episode 8

A book about The Wire came out last year with interviews from everyone. Quick and interesting read. I was really tickled by Valcheck and the way he was there to personally haul in Frank, holding his face up for the press to get some photos, that shit was to die for. Also I really liked the girl who was a patrol woman on the docks, she got her moment to shine when she was following the guy in the motel(that was a great scene), but then when it was all over she was right back to being a nobody patrol woman, that scene in the end where she pulled up to Frank's old office was pretty deep. And I grew to really love the Frank Sabotka character. All that money he was making from dealing with the Greek he wasn't spending any of it on himself, he was using it to help guys on his union who were laid off or hurt, he was turning around and using that money to pay lobbyists and try to make political moves to create work for his guys. The whole series of events that led to his fate really stayed on my mind, like if just some small things would have changed everything about his fate would have changed, like if he would have just let Valcheck have that church window. It was all so fucking deep in the end the last 2 episodes the way it all unfolds, I can't understate how much I loved this season the second time around. It might be my favorite.

Oh fuck, I've been missing Wire talk?! Fuck me. Easily in my top ten personal favorite TV shows of all time. Probably top five, if not top three, with honestly a good shot at being number one.
Lately I picked Bodyguard back up and have been working my way through finishing it. Still a couple episodes to go. Honestly, it just keeps getting better and better. They're executing this twisty turny story better than Homeland did, IMO. I'm on the edge of my seat guessing and second guessing every step of the way. Great stuff.

Supernatural to finally wrap with season 15, while I'll always be of the mind that season 5 would have been the perfect conclusion, I've still found enjoyment in the following seasons. Even the horrid season 7 had some classic episodes. Hell of a run.

On top of Into the Badlands, Preacher and the Son will also be done following their next season...though at least with Preacher, sounds like they had enough notice to structure it as a proper final season.
In other "dammit AMC" news, Better Call Saul isn't returning until 2020.

At the moment, I'm getting caught up on Legacies, as I haven't watched it since the series returned, back in January. As someone whose never watched either of the The Vampire Diaries, or The Originals, I surprisingly really like this series.

If you enjoy Legacies, I'd definitely recommend the Originals, also maybe the first few seasons of TVD until it gets past the Originals before hand. Even though I watched the whole run, the Originals were really the only thing I ever liked about TVD, and always found their show the easy superior two. Really, I only stayed with TVD in case of the the occasional crossover. Legacies has been a solid follow-up thus far.

Because they get a chunk of their movies because the studios a weary on their box office potential, only time they pick up other channel's shows, is when they have fan support behind them
