Do these guys know how many women out there would fuck them if they just washed themselves a normal amount and didn't act like fucking 10 year olds? I think they'd be surprised at how easy it can be to get laid.

I can think of at least a half dozen guys who are ugly as fuck by traditional standards but landed total babes because they showered once a day and didn't act like fucking morons in public.

I think the 80/20 rule often gets misinterpreted. It's based on an OKCupid/Tinder study collecting data on who messages who, etc. It suggests that 80% of women are chasing 20% of the men. The top 20% (Chads) have their pick of the litter, so they are essentially having sex with "all the women". Of course that ignores the fact that internet dating is a looks based system and since women are the sellers in the market they're not gonna initiate messages with someone unless they're really good looking.

Pretty sure Peterson is talking to a lot more than those guys. He wouldn't be as successful as he is if a huge portion of his audience was such a small group.

It’s anecdotal for sure, but everyone I know who is reading Peterson is married.

In all fairness if you're talking about the sexual marketplace then the 80/20 rule is true. A 6 woman can get an 8 or 9 guy to sleep with her, guys aren't that picky if they don't have to call in the morning as it's purely sexual. 

The dating market is a complete different thing and I sort of get MGTOW bit, I mean the girl that wouldn't look at you twice being interested once she hits her late 20's and the tick of her biological clock is a bit much. 
Mostly the problem is with men pining on women out of their league and getting bitter, stop chasing bimbos and look for nice girls. The guys also as you mention need to have some self respect and look after themselves. The fella with the fedora and the pube beard and anime shirts aren't getting a girl. 

End of day with incels. They're here. Some get extremely fixated in echo chambers. And at least 2 have gone crazy violent. Only indications show there will be violence again from this odd incel culture. What to do to stop the violence?

I don't think the answer is just to insult and insulate or isolated a group that already feels that way.

Jordan talks to them, about them and tried to reach out to make men better men. I'm not seeing the problem here. I don't see him calling them to violence. He wants them to clean their room, get their life in order, stand up straight and women will be attracted to them.

Incels is a term they’ve developed and embraced, not something used to label them from the outside.

Just kidding, I can't watch a 22 minute Jordan Peterson video incoherently rambling about Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

KJ, I listened to 8 minutes of it. Since this thread kind of died and time has passed I have completely bored of JP. Some of his simple self-help messages stick with me. But I think that it is only coincidence that I heard it from him. I could have heard the same theory on how we dictate our own success from someone else and it could have stuck just the same. Some would call it a negative that the stuff he spews sometimes isn't original. I am not sure it needs to be. Like the theory of how we dictate our own success by taking risks and dedicating time and such. It's nothing new, but his version stuck for me. Listening to that 8 minutes, boy can that guy passionately ramble.

Glancing over a couple comments to get you your comment and see how the comments on incels reminded me of a video I thought of sharing. I find it highly realistic and highly disturbing on incels. I generally call it the scariest film of 2018 even if it is just a short film.

Highly realistic indeed since it's just a retelling of Elliot Rodger. Although unlike the real events it possibly could've been worse since he seemed to be invited to a sorority house (albeit as a guest). The opening few minutes was very cringe inducing. Not the performance, but the scene.

In any Revolution there are winners and losers, the sexual liberation of women has pretty much relegated a group of men to the scrap heap, so maybe this is unfortunate but the men need to increase their value to survive.

Ironically, the sexual revolution has brought capitalism to sex... Can't say I'm too bothered because women were commoditized for millennia. Women are free now in the same way capitalism liberated men in a feudal society.

Guess that's what made Peterson's comments so powerful when he talked about society's path from monogamy to poly. More and more guys like this are alienated and isolated. If you have no ties to society you have no incentive to contribute and more justification to lash out violently.

That said making sex transactional would work for incels. They're more likely to be in stem fields making 6 figures. Sure she won't love you but you can pay for the fantasy. I have vaguely been aware of Dr. Jordan B. Peterson for a long time. I watched the Bret Hart video Kilgore posted and his dismantling of Channel 4's Cathy Newman ages ago. But it's only within the last week that I dove deep down the Peterson rabbit hole. He is the hero we need. Early going still, but I have yet to see him defeated in a debate, and nearly every one I've watched has a "gotcha" moment similar to his verbal joust with Newman.

Just checked his tour dates. He came to Baltimore in September. *sigh* I always miss out on the good stuff.

The only issue I have with Peterson and his videos is he takes forever to get to his points. It's like watching a Chris Hero promo.

I've always stayed away from discussing politics on PW. Even now I find arguing politics to be a pointless endeavor. No minds are likely to be changed. I just finished reading 12 Rules for Life, I was more interested in his thoughts than looking for any self help. I really enjoyed it for the most part except for the large amount of annotations. It reminded me of when people make an obscure reference in a joke..then explain the reference straight away if no one gets it.


I really wanted to more about the Chris guy he mentions in his book and whether he got kicked out of their home or not but maybe that just got glossed over for privacy reasons.

Felt sorry for his daughter and her condition also.
