wagga.nsw.gov.au/the-council/news-and-updates/news-articles/may-2023/date-set-for-international-wrestling-show-in-wagga-wagga One of the world's top wrestling brands is heading to Wagga Wagga, with IMPACT Wrestling presenting their Down Under Tour in the city in late June, early July. The stars of IMPACT Wrestling will be in Wagga Wagga from Thursday 29 June for four days of activities, including two marquee wrestling shows on Friday 30 June and Saturday, 1 July, both at the Multi-Purpose Stadium (MPS) at the Equex Centre. Supported by the NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund, the IMPACT Down Under Tour replaces the New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) Oceania Cup, which was to be hosted in Wagga Wagga, but has been postponed. Managing Director of Australia-based GLO Sports Cam Vale said the company was proud to facilitate the partnership between IMPACT ===== A strange yet supported move. Wagga Wagga is a regional town, far from a big state capital like Sydney or Melbourne so a bold choice but as my dad points out events in regional towns always draw because there is hardly ever entertainment. & when there is everyone in the town turns up

How far are you from Wagga System? Will you be going?
I read that the cheapest tickets are only $20 so although it seems incredibly random, you think they'd be able to draw a few hundred people in a town where there's not a whole lot going on.

Such a weird location, it is literally miles from anywhere. Apparently this is part of an initiative to build tourism and events in the wake of the floods, which explains the how and why.
It's even weirder because IMPACT ain't even on TV here. And really hasn't been for a decade.
The WSW shows are probably the better option of the two. There's some decent names on the next tour.
I think they're pressing their luck drawing a sizable crowd in Wagga, wrestling is an incredibly niche product. You just hope the local boys ain't playing away that week and post-match drinks wipe out a quarter of the town's population by 8pm.

It’s during my leave but probably not . I hope Conrad knows that Wagga Wagga isn’t a huge city and that the opera house is in Sydney…nowhere near Wagga

That's the main street. It's frontier type stuff. I've been there once and was happy to leave.

To be fair the Wagga main street is definitely more representative of the "business of wrestling" than the Sydney skyline

It's only a 3 hour drive for me. Should I go? I would wait till the show got a little closer just to see what my other options are. If the other options suck, why not? I drove 4 hours to their show in Dallas and it was fun.
