I understand, that I am older. But I reckon a lot of you are of the Nickelodeon time. Quiet on the set is a documentary series that points out the many allegations that went on during Nickelodeon time. Have you been watching? I have been tuning into a YouTube channel that has been following up afterwards. I find it interesting and, it seems all believable, even if extraordinary.

I'd like to watch it, though. EDIT: I just checked, it's on Discovery+ here in Canada.

So I watched the 2 episodes(Drake Bell & All That) and yeah, Dan Schenider is absolutely vile and him being the captain of the proverbial Titanic while all the shit went down makes him look awful. The fact that the sex offender found work elsewhere with Disney after being caught & let go by Nick shows you that the old guard can get jobs with a snap of the finger and it's purely who you know rather than if you're good or not. This Peck dude was also getting touchy feely with a young Leonardo DiCaprio too, very sick shit.
Very strange vibes altogether and I am glad there are documentaries and the like really looking out for survivors & child actor victims. Heard there are more episodes, including the Amanda Bynes one that I will probably watch soon. Sucks that kids of the 90's and 00's had to suffer and get screwed over by terrible actions by people they thought they could trust, glad that there are more people speaking out to better the future of child actors and actresses to avoid the same perils to happen to them.
The Dan Schenider apology video today reeks of "Blame Nick for what happened here not me!", real lack of accountability. How the fuck did you think it was a good idea to have that sex offender/pedophile be "Pickle Boy" and give out pickles to kids and have a scene where he fits a pickle in a peephole in a bathroom? Or the Fear Factor edition of All That where kids get snakes thrown on them or having dogs lick white substances off a kid's body lying down?
That Peck fucker also was a pen pal supposedly to John Wayne Gacy, yes that one. One of the All That cast members said he had a clown picture frame where behind it had a message from Gacy. And Dan Schenider had a skit forced on the All That kids that he is to be referred to as "God" and "Our Dad"....

I mean... just look at that video. Liz Gillies warning and pulling Ariana's dress, the uncomfortable look in their eyes and voices. I really believe Dan Schneider was a ringleader in an environment where people like him thrived. Judging by the things Jeanette McCurdy has said, iCarly was an awful workplace, but I really do think the cast of Victorious was failed massively. One of the actors (Avan Jogia) said recently that he doesn't remember many plotlines from Victorious, only that they'd go out and party. In that video, it seems to me that Ariana and Liz could be drunk. I mean they were teenagers!
Jeanette McCurdy also said that the iCarly cast were always called boring and to be "more like the Victorious cast" because of the partying. There is also the fact that Liz Gillies is married to a 51-year-old man... who she met when she was 16(!) on the set of Victorious when he was 36. Like... seriously? And also, Dan Schneider (and the writers) creating a scene in iCarly where Miranda Cosgrove, days from turning 16, kisses an actor who was 22.
A lot of clamour for Ariana, Miranda etc to speak out, but that is their trauma to process I guess. Also rumours that NDAs were signed, another thing Jeanette McCurdy alluded to in her book. So, so much wrong.

I watched this last night and felt sick. My daughter grew up watching shows like The Amanda Show, Drake and Josh & iCarly. One thing that always bothered me about these shows was that the parents were mostly absent or made to look stupid. Everything about this environment served to separate these kids from their parents if the parents didn't just treat them like a meal ticket and serve them up on a platter. If your parent caused waves, your kid/their career could pay the price or they would actively help them try and emancipate from you like in Amanda Bynes case or turn the parents against each other like Drake Bell's mom and dad because the dad KNEW that sicko was trying to groom his son so the pedo got rid of him. We heard the same thing from Corey Feldman. These parents lived vicariously through their kids and even partied and did drugs with some of them and then left them alone with these sickos. Like What? Elijah Woods is famous for saying the only reason nothing happened to him in Hollywood as a child actor is because his mom did not take her eyes off him for one minute, didn't let him go to parties underage, etc.
I don't like to judge other parents, but Drake Bell's mom was TOLD by his dad about Peck and pretty much served him up to him. And then there's that girl Brandi's mom who didn't call the police on that Jason Handy when he sent her kid naked pics. Maybe if she had they could have stopped him from doing it to others. And then there's all those people who wrote letters on his behalf. Like WTF? Tempted by a child? What is wrong with you people? I have always felt for kids like Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears. Sure they wanted the fame, but then they paid a huge price. Couldn't even trust their parents. Lindsey Lohan's dad was selling her underwear to support his coke habit. No wonder she was messed up. Would have, could have, should have. The fact is the industry treats these kids like commodities and then spits them out into the world and we all watch as they spiral out of control. Is there any wonder? The demons some of these kids have probably ate them alive.
I was approached 3 separate times about getting my daughter into acting, etc. Once when she was a baby, once again when she was about 4 or 5 and another when she was in high school. My answer every time was 'fuck no', and I didn't even blink. My daughter met 1 of the few men I actually dated when I was a single mom because I trusted him, but honestly it loomed over my dating life because Caycee was a pretty and outgoing child. I trusted no one with her save family. Call me jaded, but the issue is Pedophiles look like everyone else and some are so good with manipulation. I didn't trust my own judgment so it was just easier for me to not date then have to go to jail for killing someone for touching my kid because that's what would have happened.
