Wow. 2024 is shaping up to be the year of decades-in-the-making sequels. We got Ghostbusters earlier this year, Beetlejuice in the fall, and now this.

Incredible news, I’ve always wanted a Billy Madison 2 but this is almost as good news.

I loved Happy Gilmore when it came out, but it felt like Adam Sandler just kept remaking it with the same character in every movie, left me a bit tapped out on Sandler.

I feel like it's either going to be meh or just really really bad. Back then you can get away with a lot where not sure if I'm ready for a toned down/watered down Adam Sandler. Not that I was a huge fan of his work but Madison was certainly more entertaining then not. I guess we can praise the stars that it isn't Little Nicky 2.

^ Unless this brings in all the dimes then you can expect more sequels.

I have a theory, that the first Adam Sandler comedy you saw is likely your favourite and each subsequent one of his movies you watch, you like about 30% less than the previous one.

Billy Madison was the first one I saw and I didn't like it as much as others did. Happy Gilmore was the second and it's still my favourite to this day. Every movie since has been worse and worse imo.

Billy Madison must be far more accessible or cheaper rights because you rarely saw Happy Gilmore on TV in comparison. That or Veronica Vaughn (one piece of ace btw) was just the draw.
