I posted this in the Fan Fic thread, because those are my brothers I grew up with, but I just got the greatest news ever today. I’m going to copy and paste it below.

For the first time in a really long time, I’m going to mean this when I say this. Life is good.

So my baby boy is due July 8th, 2018. That’s in 2 weeks now. Hopefully he holds off coming out early, because my parents just granted me a great gift. They gave me the house I was raised in. Starting July 1st, I will own my own house in Staten Island, New York; mortgage free. Words can’t even express how blessed and happy I feel. I get to raise my kid in the house I was raised in. Life is beautiful.

I’m honestly not even bragging. I just feel all the pain and tribulation I went through (mostly self inflicted) has come full circle. Not many people get to be blessed with an easier life and me and my wife have. When I was out there doing the wrong things, I was doing it because I was figuring shit out. I am just so happy that I don’t have to hurt financially any longer and pay rent. Instead, I get to raise my family in a home. Our own home. I’m glad this new journey of being a father just got made a little easier and I can watch my son grow up with one big stress off the table. Thank you, Life.

Speaking of being blessed, there is a guy that works by the hour for a contractor I do jobs for now and then, I believe he's some kind of mental handicap he doesn't make jack shit but they work him into the ground, he has no vehicle and lives with one of the bosses brothers or something so they just always got him working mowing lawns or fixing trucks or something(or cleaning up behind us after we finish a job). Poor old dude was all in the dumps talking to me on the job one day about how tired he is of being poor and broke all the time and not being able to afford a vehicle, I told him to just keep grinding and saving everything he can and he can do it. It wasn't 2 or 3 days later, Friday before last actually, ole dude hit a scratch off lotto ticket and won like $12,000, he told me after taxes he would get $9,000. I was so happy for the fucker, somebody that really needed it finally caught a fucking break for one time in their life.

I don’t know if you have Keno or something similar in the US, but an old lady at my old work won the 10 number jackpot and got 1.5
Million.

We haven't always seen eye to eye but being thankful and blessed is something I can get behind. I hope you and your growing family are healthy, wealthy and happy all the years to come.

My mom lost her job when our economy hit the crapper a few years ago. She is nearing retirement age but has no desire to retire and was having issues finding work in her field. I've seen her hit some pretty low points the past couple years, but through it all she held her head high, remained grateful and now she has been offered not just one but two jobs in her field and she can quit the meaningless job she was doing to cover her few bills I don't cover.

I am happy for your son to be raised in a nice home, that is a good thing.
You can call me a little more uncertain whether this is a good thing for you or not.
Your self described poor life choices and self inflicted misery are not good pain, they are life trying to teach us a lesson and it seems you have landed on your feet without having to get your act together.

I hope you take this opportunity to become the man that your son deserves and not as a way to continue living foolishly now that you have a safety net.
It has been my sad experience with people I know that there is a lot of truth in the expression "easy come, easy go"
Being a Dad is the single greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I hope it changes you in the way it changed me.

Just an update; we moved in July 2nd. Packing and unpacking is not as fun as you tell yourself it’s going to be. Packing and unpacking with a 9 month pregnant wife makes it even harder! Wifey tried her best, though and then started leaking. So we thought, here we go, 4th of July baby because we are both red, white and blue Trump supporters. Then the doctors sent us home and said that the waters still at a safe level for baby.

3 days away from the due date now, which is July 8th. We’re ready for Kid Jr and as corny as this sounds; I can’t wait to show you guys pictures of the little rascal!

and now 8 years later at my current work someone has won
$1.7 million on the 10 numbers.

Unclaimed as of writing, went off at approx 7pm and no one came into claim it by the time we shut. So someone’s sitting at home unaware they are about to be a millionaire when they check their ticket.

Being high, especially this high, makes me feel blessed beyond belief.
