I fell down the wiki-hole reading about lynchings in America.  What an astonishing period of time.  In a weird perspective, I wonder if we could ever get there again. 

Take for instance the lynching of Jesse Washington in Waco Texas 1916.  The story is typical of these stories.  Accused of a crime, pulled into a jail, pulled out of the jail by a lynch mob who fueled on rage, racism and anger pull him out of jail and hideous amounts of torture ensue.  From time of crime to lynching was 1 week.

The not so deathly accurate wikipedia page said that over 10,000 came to attend.  Now I know this is not an accurate count.  But for the benefit of argument assume it is 10K.   In 1920 the population of Waco was roughly 40,000.  So that would mean 1 in 4 came to see.  Pre internet, no cell phones, 1 week to advertise and build hype.   And on a Monday!  Getting 10,000 people to do anything is quite a feat.  But considering the limited means, it strikes me as even more astonishing.

Given the same scenario today I feel people are too distracted.  Wouldn't care enough.  We'd see an alert on our phone and just be too unmotivated.  Meh, I got netflix to absorb.   Youtube videos to watch.  Podcast to listen to.  Social media to mindlessly scroll through.  Meh.  I ain't going outside.  

Amazing how compelling hate and disfiguring people was. 

Friend of mine was just telling me that the Tower Of London shows similar results for beheadings. Have to imagine most of the people couldn't even see shit.  Let alone short people.   Bottom line, I think our modern distractions are too good.  People just wouldn't show up like they used to.  They would rather play Candy Crush or Fortnite or whatever.

I've not seen the first video, but I had read articles from people claiming it as a sexual orientation. That's just sick.

The second video is pathetic. Scare tactics are the wrong way to go about things.

Definitely something dark that is a major part of the history here in this part of Texas I live in now. I read about one where a guy was arrested for the murder of a 3 year old and the mob surrounded the jail trying to get him out, the mayor of the town's wife went and got the key to his cell and threw it to the crowd, they pulled him out and beat him before tying him to a small tree and burning him alive. Terrible stuff, people are literally animals.

Is this really a trend trying to be accepted by a large group of people? I mean I know there has been a group for a long time trying to normalize it or whatever but I don't see a lot of "meh, let um fuck kids" hash tags.i mean you find some fucked up supporters of anything. I just haven't noticed this as a social trend of acceptance like gay marriage or transgender, to that level I mean.

Aren't we splitting hairs there though? If your attracted to pre schoolers, children are your orientation right? Not saying it's right, it's fucking child abuse. I guess orientation is gender only though.

Yeah I know. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I know thoughts aren't abuse and I know that people can't help what they are attracted to. There is no on/off switch for attraction no matter how society thinks

Lynching is wrong and bad.
But the summary execution of an alleged terrorist is okay, because we use expensive drones when we do it and sign papers.

I don’t want to google a whole heap of Pro-Pedo stuff and have the Aussie FBI raid my house (like when theend made me curious to google Project Dunkelfeld) 😂.

But I’ve seen plenty of groups trying to co opt the LGBTIAPK+ community as being included, and rebranding themselves as a MAP
(Minor Attracted Person) among other things and for the most part claiming they are non-offending to garner sympathy. I’m with Mistress they are still disgusting people.

It’s obviously a lot more subtle but it’s definitely a start of people trying to normalise it.

If you're worried about peodphilia becoming normalized, I don't know what to tell you. I'd wager that much of what you're reading online is posted by trolls trying to equate pedophilia with homosexuality, or people that are also fucked in the head.

Fortunately for all of us, child abuse is still illegal. And it likely always will be. So chill the fuck out about normalization.

To respond to your question, though, offhandedly, zero research done on the topic (especially since I'm logged in from a work computer at the moment) I'm going to say probably not? Not in the sort of way that can be cured with 'take these pills and you'll be normal again' at least.

People are generally attracted to all types. Sometimes men, sometimes women, sometimes both, sometimes curvy women, sometimes slim women, sometimes super-muscular guys, sometimes skinny guys, pale, dark, tall, short, older, younger, too young...? Some wire got crossed up there in the grey matter but maybe not in a fixable way.

We thankfully live in a society where acting on pedo urges is frowned upon. But biology don't care about our societal needs.
