Had no idea Darksiders III was being made. Figured they were content to re-release DS2 forever...

Of all those games, you'd have to say Red Dead Redemption 2 is the biggest name on the list. After the smash-hit success of GTA V, it'll be interesting to see what lessons Rockstar has learned and will implement into their first proper foray into this generation. We know very little about the game outside of who the main protaganist will be and a few cut-scenes, but based on past experience, it's hard to picture how this will be anything but a new step up for gaming.

At the moment, if I had to pick five games I was going to pick up they'd be Red Dead Redemption 2, Shenmue I & II, Yakuza Kiwami II, Dragon Quest XI & Fist of the North Star. Ever since Shenmue III was announced, I've been hankering for an HD release of Shenmue I & II and now that we're only a few weeks away, I cannot be more excited. I'm sure the games age like milk, but I've always been curious to check the games out and see how they differ from games like Grand Theft Auto & Yakuza.

Yakuza II is often regarded as one of the greatest games on PS2, so that in itself has peaked my curiosity. I've been playing the series since Yakuza 0 and since I want to play them in order, I've been holding off from playing Yakuza 6, simply so I can experience the games and build that connection with Kiryu. It's been nearly a year since I played through the original Yakuza Kiwami, so I certainly feel ready to dive back into Kamurocho.

As far as I can tell, Fist of the North Star is developed by the Yakuza team and borrows the Yakuza engine. As one of my favourite gaming series right now, I'm interested to see how it goes outside of the series and what the shonen license can do for that style of gameplay.

Finally there's Dragon Quest XI. After finishing Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 back in 2016, I've been hankering for the next big console release & XI appears to be shaping up nicely. At least, I think so? I haven't been paying attention to what the fans have to say and most of the journalists treat JRPGs with kid-gloves so it's hard to get an accurate impression.

At this stage, I'm looking to pick up Shenmue I & II, Yakuza Kiwami II and Red Dead Redemption 2 on release. I may pick up the others as well, but most likely will be waiting until after Christmas so I don't rush through the games for the sake of it.

The only things I am looking forward to soon are Divinity 2 console release and WWE 2k19. And Vesperia, RDR 2, DMC5, and FFV remake whenever those comes out.

Hitman 2 is the only game that’s really peaked my interest.

I buy WWE and CoD every year out of a pointless tradition, but might pass on it this year.

I’m way more jaded to game hype than I used to be.

I might buy WWE 2K19... it honestly depends on if they have the Mae Young Classic in it, similar to how the Dusty classic is in the game, and of course, if they have an all female royal rumble match added, as both would be great for my all female universe mode I do every year.

Also both Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu and Smash Bros are definite buys for me.

I contemplated whether or not to include Divinity 2. Originally I skipped past it since it was a port, but since it's such a big game and I did include the PS4 port of Metal Max I wanted to go back but just couldn't find it. I'm really curious to play it. Not only is it supposed to be the greatest Western RPG to date, but many had it as their GotY last year and it only missed out due to it's niche appeal. I may hold off until Xmas time or when the game goes on sale to make the plunge.

Vesperia is another game I'm keen on. It's in my Top 50 Games of all-time list and to finally have the PS3 version in English and on-the-go sounds like a no-brainer. Again, my only concern here is price since I don't want to pay $80 for a 10-year-old game that I've been multiple times already.

I'm keen to pick up the 2016 release when it goes on sale. The episodic nature kind of hurt it when it came to reviews and end of year discussions, but the final product was supposed to be excellent. I was honestly surprised to see the sequel on the list as I hadn't heard anything about it.

Is there any real difference between Battlefield and Call of Duty?

Also, whatever happened to the Medal of Honor series?

CoD is a lot more fast paced, Battlefield multiplayer is a lot more tactical and slower. Also they have a 10 respawn that feels like a century compared to CoD. I don’t like playing Battlefield online for that simple reason.

Divinity one was amazing and from what I hear this one is much better so probably can't go wrong with it. I do like the appeal of a game that will let you say I hate everyone in this town I am killing everyone here and looting it for everything it is worth. And while Fallout lets you do it to a certain extent they are exceptions like Little Lamplight in 3. To playing a character they everyone loves and can talk themselves out of most bad situation. And sometimes a combination of both. Get exp for talking your way out of danger only to have a person you playing with do a massive aoe attack and still kill everything to gain combat exp as well. Plus being able to charm most bosses in the game was incredibly fun.

I only played the 360 version of Vesperia so didn't get the pirate girl or have Flynn on the team. And don't think back then since it was a rental I did all the optional stuff.
