The thing is the Nerdery was it's own culture too. It's not just a forum name. To some of us the name means more to us than PW name itself. Nerdery World Order for lyfe.

How about a little compromise. Bring back The Nerdery name, but ONLY if we can post mainstream entertainment topics on there too.

I get the idea behind the merge. Topics are often being discussed in both sections. Up until last season wasn't GOT in Ent? Hell last year's Walking Dead started in Nerdery and then found it's way into the general tv thread. And yesterday when the Tom Petty thread popped up in Nerdery I thought it was really weird to see it there. But I suppose it was there as a precursor to the new name or it would be in Off Topic. I don't think there was ever any rules in place where you couldn't discuss stuff in the Nerdery. Nerdery seems more like a community than a subforum. Although to be fair we could leave it as Pop Culture that way if we ever decide to bring back the Coliseum I can blame Lony for allowing it to happen on his watch.

Is there a way to access advanced mode when posting? When I make a thread I can use the codes, but doing a quick reply doesn't really work until I go and edit a post. Unless it's the "reply" button. Was afraid that would simply post a blank.

Is there a way to put some custom words under your username? You know where it says "New Member" on mine.

Not where it says " Member," but you can put a message, using Update Status in your member page. And it will show up below your avatar.

Is our site ad free? I lurk on another proboard and they have an adblock begging message. It is not as bad or often as the one we encountered but figured it would make an appearance. Did you guys buy premium or some such. Just wondering.

Unfortunately our two weeks of no ads finishes today. If people are willing, you can pay a little bit to get adfree either for yourself, or contribute to the whole forum by clicking the link at the bottom of every page.

It's done by page views. A million ad free pages is $160.

That's the proboards adblock thing. I've mentioned it when we were discussing things at the old place. It's a message that appears once a session, but it can be easily dismissed. And you don't see it again as long as you haven't left the forum. It's about as annoying as clicking on your notifications... simply takes a second to deal with. When the adblock begging showed up at the old place it would freeze the board until it fully loaded (sometimes minutes) and then would pop up again as I was browsing. That isn't the case with proboards.

If people wanna pool resources to rent an adfree experience (or really adblock message free since we all use adblocker) I'm willing to contribute, but I don't think it's necessary. Guess we'll see as we go forward.

That's good info. I think everyone can cope with one click per session.

I got it one time.  But it's OK now.  I think it only comes up once per day.
