So yesterday while I was heading home from work, it usually takes me about ten minutes to get from one place to the other, no big deal right, I do it almost every day. Yesterday however, I ended up getting jumped by these two guys (no idea who they were), one of them ended up punching me in the side of the head outta no where, so I threw a shot back, after all you take a swing at me, I'm going to throw one back as well, but before I could do anything else, his buddy grabs me from behind, tossing me to the ground and landing a few kicks to my stomach, afterwards they ended up taking my phone and backpack (not worried about that, as it just had a sweater and an empty lunch container in it). really glad I forgot to grab my wallet though when I went to work in the morning.
I ended up calling the cops and dealing with that stuff, though honestly, I doubt I'll get the phone back, I'm just glad though that I forgot to grab my wallet, when I went to work in the morning, as it's one more thing I'd have to worry about. I also went about changing all my passwords, when I got home afterwards, so that should hopefully prevent them from getting into my stuff.
As for this thread, has anyone on here ever been robbed before?

Wow Lony, I am glad you are more or less okay after that, you could have just as easily been stabbed. My most horrific experience was just like yours except it involved sodomy, but nobody wants to hear about my opinion of the Australian Tax Office. I have encountered crime mostly overseas, I have had run ins with pick pockets in China and India, the latter was a young brother and sister where the girl tried to distract me begging while the boy went for my wallet. I didn't react badly, I just waved my finger at them and looked stern... But seriously, you can't hold it against people in places like that. I also had a run in with a transvestite beggar from a child abduction cult in India but that is another story. Closer to home, I have had my companies 300kg $7,000 site box full of tools stolen off a work site where they actually used the sites forklift... But the security cameras weren't working and nobody saw anything, of course. I had a phone stolen when a mates car got pinched, he got the car back but the phone was gone.

Amazing that you forgot your wallet on the day you got mugged. That’s incredible.
Sorry you went through that, but damn. That’s crazy.
We’ve had our car rummaged through a few times but nothing else. And every time it happened nothing was taken. No idea what they’d be looking for, we always have change and stuff in the car and it never gets stolen. Phones and wallets maybe?

Damn Lony, glad you are ok dude, that's terrible. Could have been way worse though holy shit. I have never been robbed but had 3 guys snooping around my house late at night about 2 months ago, caught them on my camera they were trying to get into my tool trailer and my truck, three fucking scrawny ass fucking pidgeon toed little fairy motherfuckers too, couldn't really tell for sure but it looked like one of them had a gun in his belt. One of my neighbors seen them and told them to get lost and one of them told him to fuck off. I showed the cops the video but they were like the cops from The Big Lebowski practically laughing at me about it, but yet it wasn't 2 weeks earlier they came up in my house to pick my youngest brother up on a DWI warrant guns drawn like he was Harrison Ford in Fugitive wanted for murder.

That sucks Lony. Are you ok? I've had my home been robbed. I am very lucky as my daughter came home from school and interrupted them. Luckily, they simply fled out the patio doors. I don't care about any of the stuff that was taken compared to my daughter's well being. I'm with iNCY though. I've been dry pounded more than once by the government. It's very uncomfortable.

Does this change anything for you going forward? Like would you start carrying pepper spray or what not?

iron maiden, I was still a bit sore the next day, but other then that, I'm fine, as Incy said, it could have been a lot worse. @ness, Honestly, probably not, it sucks that it happened, but unless it becomes a recurring thing, I doubt I'll need it.

Robbed at gunpoint twice on campus at The Ohio State University. Safe, my ass. That's why I stopped working for them. Also have had someone break in to my house and steal, my Wii, my laptop, my daughter's laptop and our ps4. I feel like it was someone who has been in our house before. And I know they were watching the house. This all happened within the 30 minutes I left to go to the store. We moved within the next 2 months. I hate people. They suck. Glad you are ok Lony,

A couple years ago, my wife's car was broken into right outside our apartment. We were woken up at like 3:30 a.m. to cops knocking on our door. More than a dozen cars were hit in the parking lot. Similar to Mistress, we moved within a month or two. I've had some miscellaneous shit stolen over the years (jackets, a hoodie, sunglasses), but those were all items I left unattended in a public place. Not saying that excuses the robbery, but it's not as intense as someone physically breaking into a car.

Damn Lony. Just glad that they didn't give you the ol' Winnipeg handshake. What part of the city was it? Have had my car broken into probably 7-8 times. Nothing of significance stolen. Just a waste of time and money repairing the broken windows. Was robbed at gunpoint when I worked at Blockbuster in 2005 or 2006. That wasn't fun, but I didn't get hurt or lose anything personally.

I leave my car unlocked. Paying to fix a window would cost too much than to replace the little bit of change in my ashtray lol
I clean my car every night before bed. Nothing of value unless someone needs change. But it's not even enough to catch the bus haha

Never been robbed personally, other then eaving my bmx at school overnight because I forgot I rode to school (hadn’t in months) which was idiotic on my part 😂
My uncle was the king of piracy, every PS1 game you could think of he had, he had dodgy Austar (cable) etc. Then his holiday house got robbed and he was livid, they mostly stole living supplies (they left the TV there). The irony never occurred to him.
Work a lot with poker machines, so one night I was working and this weird British guy that comes in (more dollars than sense type) has about $400 in his machine..that’s located right next to the CRT (you can cash your ticket yourself) and it’s a quiet Monday night so not many people around. He gets a phone call..and puts the reserve sign on his machine..and walks all the way outside to take said call which is a huge distance from machine (instead of just taking call while on machine)..comes back, his $400 credit is gone.
Lady saw it, cashed it straight away then left. We caught the lady easily because you have to either be a member or sign in and give your details to enter club + cameras everywhere.

I've only ever been robbery adjacent.
When I was real young, my dad opened the door and was hit the head with a lead pipe on a home invasion, with me an my brother quickly being shunted out of the house (fun fact: somehow within just a few seconds, my dad got his hands on a machete, and we barely made it off the porch before we saw the two guy bolting away like crazy, probably thanking god my dad was a short fat man, and not an athletic sprinter. Fun fact 2: I still own that machete.).
And the other, I had my door shut and I heard all my nieces start crying so I came out, and my room mate was bolting back telling me they all just got robbed at gunpoint (my homes just won't quit getting invaded, I tell ya). Craziest part, is we had a dog that barked at everything, and I'd always come out to check what he's barking at, this one time he didn't make a peep, which was good, because a door flying open in an armed robbery would likely have gotten me shot.

Was the first incident in the Burgh!? Where did you live, over in Arlington?

Just got our apartment's garage broken into a few nights ago. Someone got away with my bicycle and my motorcycle helmet/gloves, but left the bicycle helmet and the motorcycle. On the plus side, I guess this means I'm in the market for a new bike!
Had my car broken into once when I was working the overnight shift; all I had in the car was the owners' manual so they stole the owners' manual. I guess when you're already committed you've got to get away with something?
