So me and HR work so well together as talking(typing?) heads , we decided to bring you some more rankings. Hopefully different one every week , now that Week two is in the book we'll start with Power Rankings. I think we did a pretty good job of not overreacting. @admit probably more so that myself.

I think we did okay , we had a few rankings farther apart but nothing to egregious. I think the bottom three were the easiest I ever done - I know HR had the Lions and Cardinals swapped in his personal rankings but I think the Lions are too talented on offense to be THAT bad again. Defensively they could be fucked but they will be in some shootouts.

Also ranked the Bears lower I believe. Someone brought up a great point that it was pretty much like the Jags/Pats game last year where the first 25 plays were scripted and looked beautiful and really stuck it to the Packers - but once those ran out the offense was fucked. I wasn't overly impressed with Nagy's decision making either.

Cool idea - one question.

Is the ranking based purely on that week alone, or is it a rolling ranking based on the season up to that point?

I’d say it’s based on the season up to that point and being it’s so early in the year I’d say preconceived opinions on these teams.

Steelers have 6 turnovers and tie with the Browns, yet they're higher then the Jets? Blasphemy.

Also, I'd put the Rams at #1. It's not even close.

I'd have the Rams at #2 behind Philly. New England needed a lot of home-cooking from the refs just to get past the Texans.

Also I know it's Detroit but the Jets DID win and win handily while Pittsburgh failed to beat Cleveland. And Cleveland isn't that much better of a team than Detroit, if they are at all.

Everything else looks pretty good.

I think I had the Jets over Pittsburgh but stand by the overall rankings regardless. I’d like to see it again as Detroit looked like they could be a bottom five team. Pittsburgh also has a chance to bounce back against KC.

Same with Rams and the Raiders. They won handily which matters but I’m not ready to put them above the Pats... yet. The Raiders just don’t have talent - but they still found a weakness down the middle of the field that a better could capitalize on.

The Steelers have had a problem playing down to bad teams especially in 1pm kickoff games for years, they'll be fine.

Week 1 always throws up some surprises, good teams don't suddenly become bad because of one game.
