1. Bill O'Brien , Houston Texans 2018 Record: 0-2 Career Record: 31-35 Postseason Record: 1-2
O'Brien has gotten off to a terrible start , losing back to back games including the latest to a Blaine Gabbert led Titans team. The offense is shaky and Deshaun Watson is struggling to regain his 2017 form. If he can't turn the ship around soon I don't think he makes it to the end of the season.
2. Hue Jackson , Cleveland Browns 2018 Record: 0-1-1 Cleveland Record: 1-32-1
An obvious choice after what many considered a poor showing on Hard Knocks and two terrible seasons in Cleveland. This year the Browns seem to be competitive but they still can't shake the black cloud hanging over this franchise. When a team could/should be 2-0 and remain winless - that has to fall on the coaching and Jackson is an easy scapegoat.
3. Sean McDermott , Buffalo Bills 2018 Record: 0-2 Career Record: 9-9 Postseason: 0-1
This one may be a bit unfair because of what he was able to do with the Bills last season , but Buffalo may be the worst team in the league this year and they actually have players retiring half way through the game. I think McDermott is a good coach but if they put forth an 0-16 effort whilst getting no signs of life out of Allen then Buffalo might just hit the reset button again.
4. Mike Tomlin , Pittsburgh Steelers 2018 Record: 0-1-1 Career Record: 116-60-1 Postseason Record: 8-7 1x Super Bowl Champion
This one may be the biggest surprise but there have been whispers about it for a few seasons now as Tomlin continues to be a really inconsistent to bad gameday coach. This year he is off to a terrible start and the two best players on the team either aren't there or seem unhappy. Match that with the lack of defense the past few seasons and I could see a return to Steelers football being the mantra for Tomlins firing.
5. Matt Patricia , Detroit Lions 2018 Record: 0-2 Career Record: 0-2
This seems a bit early , even for me but when you consider that reports came out all summer long how the Lions were already unhappy with their new coach and then followed it up getting CRUSHED by the Jets - that's a terrible first look. The Lions under Caldwell were at least a middling team but if the defensive minded Patricia leads a bottom three defense while the Lions struggle to win five games , I could see a quick hook from a franchise that spend far too many years being a laughing stock.

McDermott being in the hot seat is fair, but I still hate it. He doesn't deserve the team he was handed after the success he had last year.
Buffalo's management is fucking atrocious and it bugs the hell out of me. They finally had something sort of decent to work with and it got pissed away. McDermott is the least of their problems, but they're absolutely the type of team that will fire him if the team starts the season 0-6,7,8, what have you.
Forget filling the gaping holes in their secondary or getting some kind of an offensive line signed, we'll just fire the coach and start again next year! Fuck you.

1-32-1 as a head coach and some talented players to boot? Surely it's preposterous Jackson is still in a job. Easy no. 1 IMO.
That said, I agree with the O'Brien analysis. This guy has talented pieces on both sides of the ball, a legendary defensive coordinator, and an offensive scheme entirely in his hands, with a top 5 WR, a good separation receiver in Fuller, and a talented QB in Watson. Anything 7-9 or worse and it's goodnight Irene for BOB.

This is cool that yall are doing this. I got to agree about O'Brien. I didn't want him here in 2014, I thought Kubiak deserved another shot, if not Kubiak than Wade deserved a shot, I think he was an underrated head coach and his dad was Bum Phillips for crying out loud man. Plus, I really was never impressed with O'Brien's resume coming in, he never really did much in college football he was a tight ends coordinator and just a general assistant at some of his pit stops, then he works his way up to OC in New England during a time when they didn't win a Super Bowl, he's one of those guys I'd consider a New England cast off that Belichick just didn't want anymore for a good reason, he wanted to bring in somebody better. Through the 2014 season I grew to like him, I got excited about the Texans going forward with him, thought he had a great personality for this team and was impressed with some of the games he coached that year with the injuries he had to coach around. 2015 you really started to see some problems with the offensive playcalling, also blew my mind that he chose Mallet and Hoyer over Case Keenum and a reliable back up in TJ Yates, I just didn't get it and still don't. Also they cut Andre after that 2014 season so they could bring in Nate Washington and Cecil Shorts, didn't like that move at all not one bit. Grew to really dislike some of the stuff he did with the roster and was wondering how he got his reputation with that offense he used looking like some Dom Capers shit he had going back in the day here, super predictable playcalling with no power and no balls of any sort. The game against the Chiefs in the playoffs they hung Bryan Hoyer out to dry with that shit. Ok, so I'm on the fence with him going into 2016, he hasn't really impressed me as a playcaller but seems like he's got a pretty good grasp of the team and I still just really liked the dude. He lost me in 2017, I was calling for his job going into the end of the season last year, that team was about the worst I have ever seen in going on 17 years as a Texans fan. I watched the 2003 expansion Texans do better than that shit with way more injuries and a WAY tougher schedule(in a tougher league). Now O'Brien is like 1-11 in our last 12 games, man I wouldn't be surprised if we start out 0-5 or 0-6 the way this team looked last Sunday. But I'm going to squash all the negativity right now, shit is getting old and depressing. I'm going to saddle up and ride with this team from here on out, I'm going to channel my inner Ultimate Texans Warrior from here on out, I have hope O'Brien and these guys we got will turn this thing around starting Sunday vs @hr and thereallt and make a run to the Super Bowl on the 25 year anniversary of the 93 Oilers that played right next door, if that team could start 1-4 and then win 11 in a row with all of that fucking drama going on(seriously, the story of the 93 Oilers makes Any Given Sunday look like an episode of Saved By The Bell) by god we can too, they can do it.

This was always going to be a make or break year for O'Brien. He's a good coach - getting winning records with those quarterbacks in his first few seasons was an impressive effort and was definitely an example of maximising results out of the talent available. Last season he deserved a mulligan because of the injuries to Watson, Watt and Mercilus, and the promise of more of what he was able to cook up for a few weeks with Watson.
I posted before the season that the Texans always looked like a boom or bust team, they have a very imbalanced roster with a lot of superstars but questionable depth - and so far they haven't got that top level play out of their big boys. They should be able to steady the ship against the Giants this week, but the real litmus test is the following week against the Colts who are improved under Frank Reich and no longer the pushover in the trenches that they have been.

I think losing to Blaine Gabbert , with both pro bowl caliber tackles out of the game says something about the coach getting his players ready. That was about as worse as a lost gets and even if he rights the ship and gets this team in contention for a wildcard spot - if they miss that playoff spot by a game or tiebreaker then the Titans loss is really going to standout. On top of that he really makes some head scratching calls on game day and seems under constant fire for them. As for Jackson Todd - you have an obvious great point. It was interchangeable for me ... but I ordered them like that because I think the bar is lower in Cleveland. If he gets them to 7 wins I could see him keeping his job. If O’Brien wins 7 games he could be out.

Hue Jackson just seems completely clueless. He didn't know how Josh Gordon ended up on the field for so many snaps in Week 1, he didn't know that Zane Gonzalez was kicking injured - it's just like how can you be so careless and oblivious when you are already getting a golden (and undeserved) chance to continue as the HC?

Yeah there is definitely a great case to fire Hue , I just think they are in a terrible division aside from the Bengals and anything is possible. That defense has a chance to be legit and that can win you some games.
Plus I think Hue might have taken a note from Jason Garrett and found something to blackmail the owner with , it's the only reason I can think of why Garrett still has a job and the main reason I didn't put him on the list. He's got something on Jones.

He's got something on Jones. Buffalo proved for several years that you can still get 7-9 wins riding on your defense alone, and Tyrod was there for some of those years. Cleveland could still surprise some people this year. Probably not, because it's Cleveland, but maybe. Definitely maybe next year....maybe.

I would say that McDermott and Patricia take their names right off the list after great wins for their teams. Hue's seat has cooled down a bit but I'd still put him towards the bottom.
O'Brien cements his spot at the top of the list , ups the odds of being first coach fired. I don't know how the Texans are losing these games to bad teams. Like the Giants were again a GREAT matchup for him.
