Who here is buying it? Who is looking forward to playing it? I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition to play 4 days early and to give me something to do on a medical leave for a week. They've switched it up a tad on the system. Tower mode (featured in Mortal Kombat X) is in. Showcase is back featuring the career of Daniel Bryan. Pretty much every superstar in NXT, NXT UK, Bobby Lashley, etc is all going to be in. It appears that Matt Hardy's Woken compound is playable as well. The graphics seem amazing.

Maybe early January, I'll pick it up, but between a bunch of Switch games, and Christmas around the corner, I doubt I'll get it before next year.
Also hate that they removed Tommaso Ciampa (the current NXT champion not being in the game sucks), Brian Kendrick and Nikki Cross from the game. Given they're still with the company it's stupid, even if they just used last year's models it would be better than nothing.

I went from just expecting some roster updates and bugs fixes to being excited. Mycareer mode looks really fun this year. Really glad the B team has battlescars in the game instead of the pep rally theme.

I’ve been buying every year and only playing them for a month, rinse/repeat. The last one I really enjoyed was the one where you have to try and beat Taker at Wrestlemania.
Normally I just buy WWE/CoD out of tradition but I’ll be away on release week so might end up passing after all.
Really wish they’d do a seperate NXT game or pack or something, I know I’m in the minority but i’d Rather more main roster/classic wrestlers instead.

I haven't been paying much attention to news in regards to the game, but I assume it'll just be the men's Royal Rumble game? If so, then that'll suck, as it would be a great feature to use in my all women's universe mode, once I eventially pick up the game.

I'm promising myself I won't buy this.
The roster updates are great, but I have no interest in playing Daniel Bryan's career and would end up doing the same thing I always do, create/download CAWs and fantasy book. I can do that with the last game.

Not really.
MyCareer is the best campaign in god knows how long and Tower Mode is equally addictive. Aside from that, the gameplay has barely been improved upon.

Why did they even bother if he wasn’t available to be voiced?
Not like there’s a huge roster full of people they could have used instead.

It's pretty addictive. Been busy with the towers. The million dollar one is insane. Reversals everywhere and I think only 10 minutes per match and no health regeneration. A few people have already beaten it but those people must be machines. I made it through 2 matches and got my ass handed to me in the 3rd. I suck at submission matches so I take them outside of the ring beat the hell out of them and usually win by count-out.

I ended up buying it. I decided, I'm going to invest some real time in the Universe mode again. I've downloaded a handful of awful CAWs. I don't know who did the top Omega CAW, but I can't remember the man having an afro. Nor Marty Scrull having a cru-cut in the last few years.

One week in, how does the game hold up NATH45 ? I've only dabbled with it. It looks great, as it should. It plays well. Overall, it's a very good game. I'm just playing exhibition mode, with a few favorites and some downloaded CAWs - nothing incredibly indepth.
I started playing the MyCareer mode, I can't sit through the cut-scenes and rubbish storyline and tapped out after they started calling my player " Buzz "
System, I played a few Fire Pro Wrestling Roms years ago. I'm interested in playing the most recent, has it been released in Australia on ps4?

You guys are just taking the piss about Fire Pro right?
THis is the game you think is good?
I bought 2k19 deluxe edition because I was kind of excited about it, I bought 2k18 halfway through the year last year. THe game play itself is pretty good and I think more enjoyable in a subtle way. The graphics seem better.
Universe mode is broken in some ways. I downloaded some CAWS, and then universe mode would crash. MITB and Royal rumble matches / storylines don't properly trigger in the universe mode.

As indie games have shown, you don't need to have state of the art graphics to be a quality game. In the case of WWE, the obsession with graphics have almost come at the game's dentriment as they recycle a bunch of out-dated animations and a few of the wrestlers are straight out of the uncanny valley.
Fire Pro is a niche of a niche so I can't recommend it to everybody. However, the sprite based graphics work for the game and the animations are all incredibly well done. You can virtually make any wrestler ever and they're bound to be a solid representation of that wrestler. Whereas there's always a few wrestlers who look off in the WWE games, no matter who's creating them.

You can virtually make any wrestler ever and they're bound to be a solid representation of that wrestler. Whereas there's always a few wrestlers who look off in the WWE games, no matter who's creating them. 15 odd years back, I remember having a hell of a time playing the SNES versions of RAW and RR - I even had an adapter to plug PS2 controllers into the PC to play it. Despite having a PS2 at the time. The nostalgia was off the chart.
Sure, it's a niche game. I would think in the next few years, or less there would be a NJPW game comparable to the WWE 2k series, or even a more arcadic in style game similar to HCTP maybe. If anything a NJPW game could be more a marketing tool in expanding it's growth, than appealing to hardcore gamers.
Some of my first real exposure to wrestling was through video games. The same for a lot of kids in regional Australia with limited access to WWF/WCW at the time.

I really, really dislike the 2K series. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but I wish there was something half as enjoyable as WWF No Mercy. Best Career Mode ever. I don't get very excited (or have the patience) for the CAW (again, it was easier in the old days), so being limited to just doing the career mode with a CAW doesn't get my excited.
I'm not sure if I'll phrase this well, but the gameplay also feels more like playing a simulator than playing a fun game. IDK if that makes sense, but I guess it's become overly complicated.

It would be a full-circle moment considering Yukes started off by developing NJPW games for the N64.
Before the Japanese Pro Wrestling industry went bust, Spike (devs of Fire Pro) made a 3D spin-off called King of Colosseum for the PS2. The games were supposedly great but I never got a chance to play, but it does provide an interesting insight into what a souped up version of Fire Pro would look like.

Yeah so much for waiting until after Christmas to get this as I already caved in and bought it. I just want to say how much I love the main menu screen, granted it's cause it gives off Avengers: Infinity War vibes, but still. I haven't done much, as far as both Showcase and Tower mode are concerned, though I did briefly look at both and they seem alright. Only thing I've really done so far is set up a universe mode file, like last year (and really going back to 2K16), the first one I set up, is an all women's universe mode, dividing them up between Raw and Smackdown. Raw Roster Alexa Bliss Asuka Becky Lynch Beth Phoenix Bianca Belair Billie Kay Brie Bella Dakato Kai* Dana Brooke Lacey Evans* Lana Lita Liv Morgan Maryse Natalya Neidhart Nia Jax Ronda Rousey* Ruby Riott Sasha Banks Sonya Deville Stephanie McMahon Trish Stratus
*= will join the roster when I buy the DLC.
Smackdown Roster Alicia Fox Alundra Blayze Bayley Candice Lerae* Carmella Charlotte Flair Ember Moon Kairi Sane Ivory Jacqueline Mandy Rose Maria Kanellis* Mickie James Naomi Nikki Bella Paige Peyton Royce Sarah Logan Shayna Baszler Tamina Snuka
*= will join the roster when I buy the DLC.
PPV Schedule January - Royal Rumble Thirty women Royal Rumble match, the winner gets a title shot against their brands respective champion at WrestleMania.
February - Elimination Chamber If a Raw star wins the rumble, Smackdown wrestlers will compete in the chamber to determine who'll get a title shot at Mania. If a Smackdown star wins the rumble, Raw wrestlers will compete in the chamber to determine who'll get a title shot at Mania.
April - WrestleMania
May - New Beginnings Following WrestleMania PPV's, I plan on holding drafts to shake up the rosters, hence the name of the show.
June - Money in the Bank
July - Mae Young Classic Sixteen women tournament (eight from Raw/eight from Smackdown), semifinals and finals will take place at the PPV. Winner of the tournament will get a title shot at Summer Slam, against their brands champion.
August - Summer Slam
October - Evolution
November - Survivor Series
December - Clash of Champions Raw champion vs. Smackdown champion.
I don't have any PPV’s for either March or September, I might add them later, or keep it at ten, I haven't decided yet.

Why are their blurred faces in Showcase mode? It’s the old NXT, which is obviously WWE footage. Do they hate Michael Tarver and the ring announcer that much? 😂

I presume 2K figured the WWE had it covered and only realised that the WWE Network footage only went so far. It's a pretty awful compromise and another example of 2K cutting corners.
