I though the first movie was...eh, it was alright. I liked it for what it was. After seeing this trailer, I'm incredibly excited.

Ticket are flying out already, and we're still two months and 3 days away from opening night. They're gonna have to open up more theaters to accompany the demand. I booked tickets for the 3:45 pm showing on Friday afternoon, and about 85% of that theater was sold for it. And 7:15 pm showing is already sold out.
Better buy right away.
BTW, Cineplex is going to have one theater in each location, run a all-day marathon of all eight Star Wars movies. That's about 20 hours of movies in a 24 hour day. Who'd have the stamina for that?

I wasn't sure how to spend some of my vacation time without money to go anywhere but sounds like I have just made plans.

Well, The Last Jedi is only three days away from opening in theaters. And I've been reading advanced reviews (non-spoiler, of course), and a great majority believe that this is the best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back, maybe even ever.
You guys excited for it?
Oh, and just so we're clear, please keep your spoilers tagged, in case someone doesn't want to read them.

Too long.
But otherwise very enjoyable. I’m not a Star Wars guy but I liked the first in this round well enough and the reviews were good so why not?
Just too long.

The critic love this movie, but man, a completely different reaction from the actual movie goers. They're ripping it to shreds.
I imagine a lot of them are just butthurt, given what happened during the movie. But come on, it doesn't deserve to be this trashed.

The critic love this movie, but man, a completely different reaction from the actual movie goers. They're ripping it to shreds. I imagine a lot of them are just butthurt, given what happened during the movie. But come on, it doesn't deserve to be this trashed. Yes it does. Finn's subplot brought the movie to a screeching halt. It was nothing but wasted time as the plan didn't even fucking work. The entire time, I was begging for the movie to get back to the interesting people. Snoke was wasted time, Phasma was wasted time, Kylo is still a bitch, Luke & Kylo's backstory was outrageous, and Rey became Yoda tier overnight it seemed. I imagine A LOT was left on the cutting room floor to the movie's detriment. More training and less codebreaker shit would have done wonders for the movie. Hell, ANY backstory/character development for Snoke would have gone over better too. Snoke seemed like such a great character, powerful as hell, and was ultimately wasted. Of course people are going to be unhappy with this. It had so many missteps and blown potential. It says a lot about the franchise that people still managed to enjoy the movie with all the flaws. I'm more forgiving than most, as I would still rate it as a positive movie-watching experience, but I can see why people are livid.

I liked maybe 10% of this film, it makes TFA look like a masterpiece. Maybe Rian Johnson hates JJ Abrams, because he completely ruined the ending of TFA. Leia doing the Mary Poppins was god awful.

That Leia moment was when I realized this movie would have a lot of shit I would hate. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in any of these movies and boy did it set the tone for this one. Immediate expectation-lowering moment. Stopped hoping for greatness and would settle for "good enough."

Keep this in mind, though. Leia is Luke's twin. And as Luke's twin, she likely has some traces of the force in her. With the remaining consciousness she had left, she must have used just enough force to make it back to the ship, and to safety.
I didn't find that B-S at all.

Well Rian Johnson said he finished the script before TFA even hit the theaters, so no wonder there was so much "WTF was that?" during the movie. I liked it, but i understand why people are pissed.

Pretty ironic this guy seems like he can’t read himself, as he implies that the SW universe is in the future despite the “a long time ago” text.

I don’t think the movie was very good at all. I’d call it “bad.”
The Kylo/Rey storyline was great, but considering it was wrapped in the slowest attack storyline I’ve ever seen and a boring Finn subplot (including a half-asleep Benecio Del Toro) ... bleh.
