Don't see a thread on it. Anybody here getting the game on release day? Or anyone getting the Deluxe Edition to play it 3 days earlier and sneer at the rest of the plebians? I can't wait to play as Braun and destroy the entire roster.

I'll be picking it up at some point, though I doubt it'll be a day one buy for me.

Really tough one this year, the last couple I've barely touched. And really, don't see any great expansion on the last.
I saw the create-an-arena screen shots, and they looked really interesting. I can't for a life of me, play the standard arenas. I enjoy the creation tools more than anything else.

Do you guys often buy WWE games on launch? The last game I recall getting on launch was WWE Day of Reckoning for the GameCube and that was just after I attended my first ever Live Event. Otherwise, I usually waited until around Christmas when the games were on special.
Unfortunately I haven't bought a WWE game since '13. I heard all the current gen games were disappointing and little had changed since I stopped buying them. With that said, it has been 5 years since drinks and I wouldn't mind catching up on one of my favourite genres. If you look through my collection, you'll find a WWE game for just about every platform I own. Even my X Box where I only bought a handful of games, of course has WWE Raw 2.
The kicker for me is the gameplay. Is it fun to play? Does the AI work smartly? Does hitting a big move mean anything? Am I rewarded for working over a specific body-part etc? That would be key, the other would be the single player modes. Are they fun? Or are they as bland as ever?

I preordered the Cena (nuff) edition back in July. I have every WWE games except for smackdown 1 and the xbox games, since i do not have an xbox. Yes, even the shitty LJN games for the nintendo, super nintendo and sega genesis.

I'll be picking it up, but not day 1. I'm really hoping they stepped up, cause the my career mode from last year was very repetitive with almost no story.

I normally buy them day one but for some reason Amazon isn't offering the physical copy. And prime members get a discount on preordering but only physical copy.
From waking at the crack of dawn when they use to be released on Black Friday. To dealing with Gamestop try to sell everything under the sun making a 2 minute transaction take 30. To rent to own from Gamefly. To Amazon Prime

Game play is good, the AI is ok, the graphics are quite good - you can have a lot of fun. However, like a lot of these sports titles that come out every year like clockwork, there's not necessarily any real great leap forward. It's a roster update and a few new tweaks and few new features. I guess if you played a match in every game since '12 back to back you'd be able to notice the gradual evolution.

I bought the Deluxe Edition and have no regrets. Yes I did unlock everything but the storyline and match possibilities are endless. Also finally a fucking CHOICE on the submission system! They make the game fun again instead of having to do the control stick thing and hope for the best. Also the graphics are really upgraded this time around. And the AI is improved as well. I've gotten my ass handed to me a few times by the computer. Andre pinned my ass after countering my finisher and hitting his signature and finisher (I was Reigns). And Kurt Angle is amazing to play as again and against. I played Goldberg against Braun. Speared him, he countered my jackhammer and straight up made me his bitch. Yes get this game. It's worth it.

Much better game, than the last. The creation suite is much improved. The AI as kbc said is much improved. I too, had my ass handed to me. I don't play the universe mode or even the career mode. I started the career mode, and there was too much Albert and walking around the PC for my likely. Just put me in a ring and let me fight people you idiots. Like the previous games, I've created my own little indy arena and usually just play in my own world.

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying it. Whenever these games are released, all you usually see are GIFs of glitches which makes it look like the game was rushed out. My career looked poorly written from the videos I've seen, which is a shame because I was looking forward to the RPG aspect. It looked like a new and improved system from Shut Your Mouth which was probably my favourite season mode all things considered.
One addition I'd love to see added is the ability to edit the select screen. In games like WWF No Mercy, you could organise the select screen anyway you choose, so if you wanted to feature CAWs and put certain guys in the background you could. It's only a small detail, but it annoyed me when you'd have 50 guys all hiding under one icon. For me, the appeal of Pro Wrestling games have always been the customisation and that's dating all the way back to WWF Warzone. I wasn't a huge fan of those games, but it was the one feature that got gaming journalists to talk about it and gave it an edge over the AKI games.
Good stuff guys, tell me if you guys have any 4-5 star matches.

So I picked up WWE 2K18 last night, played a few matches already, anayways the game seems pretty good so far. Also started toying around with WWE Universe mode setting up my first game... an all-women's fed (WWE/Raw and NXT). WWE Roster Alicia Fox Alundra Blayze Brie Bella Ivory Jacqueline Lita Maryse Mickie James Naomi Natalya(c) Nikki Bella Paige Stephanie McMahon Tamina Snuka Trish Stratus
NXT Roster Alexa Bliss Asuka(c) Bayley Becky Lynch Billie Kay Carmella Charlotte Flair Dana Brooke Ember Moon Emma Nia Jax Nikki Cross Peyton Royce Sasha Banks Summer Rae
Once they're released, I'll add Beth Phoenix to the WWE roster, and of course Ruby Riot to the NXT roster... I may or may not add a third show, it really depends on how many female caws (past WWF/E women, TNA Knockouts, women on the Indy scene) that I end up downloading. As for the other two slots, one will be similar to real life WWE (Raw, Smackdown, NXT, 205 Live), as well as MEW (Main Event Wrestling), which will consist of all the main-eventers (once I get them with VC) spread over Raw and Smackdown, with the World title being defended on both shows. One thing I would like to see in WWE 2K19 is a female Royal Rumble, even if it were a twenty women rumble match... I realize we probably won't see it on TV anytime soon, but it would be nice to at least have it as an option in the games.

There's been several times where I tried to download a caw off the creation centre, and I couldn't. It told me I needed to buy the Cena Nuff or the Kurt Angle pack, but I can't find them on the xbox store. Where do I buy these?

If you didn't buy the Deluxe Edition it may be a month or two before they are available to download. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk

Cena Nuff was $150 version so it may not even come back. I wish there wasn't 3 versions of the game because it messes up things like downloads.

Downloaded the NXT pack, as well as female tag titles from community creations for my all female universe game. Having said that, I'm debating on if I want to do a solo tournament, or a round robin tournament, to crown my first tag champion.
As for my tag team division, I was planning on the following teams...
Anti Divas (Paige & Ruby Riot) Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki Bella) Blonde Ambition (Maryse & Summer Rae) Dana Brooke & Emma Iconic Duo (Billie Kay & Peyton Royce) Pretty Mean Sisters (Ivory & Jacqueline) The Horsewomen (Bayley & Becky Lynch) WWE Legends (Lita & Trish Stratus)
Eight teams should be more than enough for a tag team division, though both The Horsewomen and WWE Legends are temporary, as both teams are a part of two stables* I put together.
*The Horsewomen (Charlotte, Bayley, Becky, Sasha) and WWE Legends (Stephanie, Lita, Alundra, Trish), with them pretty much feuding with one another.
As for the Maryse/Summer pairing, I honestly havn't used them much, so I figured why not pair them up as a team, that way it gives them something to do.

Anyone playing this at the moment? I've been diving into the game over the last couple of days and have enjoyed it immensely thus far.
(Also I really need someone on PS4 to help me get the Team Up trophy but that's totally not the point of this post no sir)

I skipped this year's version.
Right or wrong, I still hold wrestling games to the standard set by N64 No Mercy. The career modes by title belt are still some of the most fun I've ever had. I hate that the 2K games only allow a career mode around create-a-wrestlers.
