So this is probably the wrong place to post this, but this is the only part of the forum I postin so whatever.
I think I'm done with wrestling, at least for a very long while. Tonight is something I should really be enjoying, But I honestly just feel numb to it all. Matches that I should be enjoying seem boring and not impressive to me anymore. The only reason I still watch is the hope to see my favorite talents do well, and I've found myself way too emotionally invested in whether they win or lose. Both of these things can be traced back to the depression I've been dealing with lately. and unhappiness with where my life is going. So if I'm watching something that makes me either bored or unhappy I figure I should stop watching it right?
I had a lot of fun discussions on the old board and the new one that I'll always be fond of ( especially trashing Victoria with LS and HR), but I think this might be one of my last wrestling-related posts here for a while. I still might try and venture out to the off-topic/sports related parts of the forum
Thanks, everyone.

If you didn't enjoy tonight then you should stop watching dex! I stopped watching a while ago, thought that I'd probably never ever come back but now find myself really enjoying what I pick and choose to see.
More important to all that though - I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough time. If you ever want someone to talk to about it feel free to reach out. 😊

Cmon, Evolution isn’t THAT bad 🤷🏻♀️ It's not Evolution by itself like I said I know I should like it, but like I said all wrestling is falling flat for me. I think this happens to every wrestling fan from time to time. Eventually you just hit those points of oversaturation that result in desensitization, which can leave the door wide open for feelings of frustration and cynicism. This happened to me post-WMXX and it kept me out of the game for quite a while. I think one of the keys is not forcing yourself to stick with it when you're not enjoying it. There's nothing wrong with breaks from or even falling out of love with pro wrestling. If you didn't enjoy tonight then you should stop watching dex! I stopped watching a while ago, thought that I'd probably never ever come back but now find myself really enjoying what I pick and choose to see. This is the best approach, IMO. After falling out of love with WWE circa WMXX and kinda more or less stopping watching cold turkey, I missed a lot. It took me a long time to learn that I could cherry pick and curate my viewing around the best stuff and cut out the rest. Now that I've got that figured out, I've surprisingly reinvigorated my interest in not only the current product but also those black bleak years I totally wrote off. But I think to maybe appreciate the cherry-picking approach fully, it's probably best to give yourself a clean slate by maybe abstaining altogether for a bit. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. This is how I enjoy wrestling these days. My work schedule means that I often am working when the shows are live, so watching a replay means I just skip what I don't want to see, evolution was one of the first shows I watched start to finish in at least a year. I rarely watch the weekly shows, there are so many ppvs and other companies shows that I can fill time with just special events. And if I read a report of a match that sounds good, I'll find that and watch it. I'm watching less wrestling by time, but am watching much more variety in wrestling the last while. NJPW, MLW, TNA, ROH, as well as WWE

Sometimes a break from wrestling is good. While I missed out on many stars that are in the company today, I'm glad I took that break as when I came back and brand split happened, it was as if things were starting anew and I enjoyed it a lot more. While some of the problems from the past persist, I'm enjoying wrestling for the most part. And super happy that AJ Styles is pretty much one of the faces of the company (never thought I'd see that day). I don't know you but hope things get better for you in the future.

When I thought I was DONE with wrestling, I casually checked out CHIKARA and got hooked again.
In particular season 8 to 14, Collectively that is one of the craziest stories you will ever see in wrestling involving the Eye of Tyr, Ultramantis Black's enslaving of Delirious, the arrival of the BDK, the counter for the CHIKARA special being found, the arrival of the Gekido and Wink, archie - MMA archie and the mysterious and handsome stranger, the death of chikara, the rise of the flood and the rise and fall of Deucalion. Overall this is a six year arc that is CHIKARA phase two. It may sound like just a bunch of crazy, but what hooks people is the overall character stories are so well done. Characters do grow and change, often with stories that takes years to play out. Archie is a prime example. He went from a goofy gimmick to one of the leaders of CHIKARA. Also since CHIKARA is not real and does not pretend to be, some of it gets super emotional, as they will not hesitate to kill characters outright.
They have a subscription service to stream all of it. May be worth checking out to see if it is something you may like. Not all of everything show will be a must watch, but you can follow the stories of characters you like easily by skipping to their stuff.

I think you've got to treat wrestling like you'd treat any other television show, casually. Watch it, talk about it, but don't overload yourself.
