Two bad picks to end it. Could make the difference in Mahomes getting the MVP or not.
DUDE!!! What a game! Gonna need a cigarette after that.

That’s the Favre coming out in Mahomes. I was hoping theyd tie it. Yeah. But a few of those TDs were also the Favre. You take the good, you occasionally get the bad.

The Rams just put up 54 points and Todd Gurley didn’t even get 100 yards OR a TD. Now that’s insane.

Finally a big game to deliver, holy hell, what a game. Guess that locks in the top 3 teams:
1. Saints 2. Rams 3. Chiefs

As effecient as Brees has been, Mahomes is just putting up monster numbers this year. If he gets 50 TDs and over 5000 yards passing he is gaurenteed to win it.

That has to be the best game of all time right? I don't see how you top that.

Instant classic. NFL desperately needed a game like that and they got it, for that this will go down with the great ones in NFL history

Top comment on reddit: “I refuse to believe this is the same sport the Bills play.”
Fucking cry laughing over here.

McVay was lucky his defense bailed him out after calling an absolutely whack last series.
Anyway fantastic friggin game, probably the best I've ever seen on Monday night. I'm usually not a huge fan of shootouts, but this one had some very key defensive plays to go with it along with some defensive TD's. So despite the score it was a very complete football game.

Obviously there was a million stats coming out of that game, but I think my favourite is that the Chiefs are averaging 45.5 points in their losses (compared to 34.8 in wins) this season!

So I missed the game last night, but a few weeks ago I said if the Rams got through their Murderer’s Row of Packers/Saints/Seahawks/Chiefs with a 3-1 record, they’d be Super Bowl bound.
I stand by this statement.

I didn't think McVay's last series was terrible, just didn't work. If that ball doesn't get batted, looked like an easy first, I understand wanting to keep Mahomes off the field.

Certainly the best game I've seen. Had everything, including defense. Some huge turnovers in the game alongside some pretty devastating passing offense.
Saints are better than them, just by virtue of a better secondary I'd suggest, but both teams are going deep in the playoffs.

Historically the only 2 games I'd feel comfortable putting over it on the GOAT list would be Super Bowl XXV and The Comeback(Bills/Oilers 92) but otherwise I have no issues with this being called the Greatest Game Ever Played, certainly factoring in the context both teams 9-1, in the Coliseum in LA a venue/city where NFL has failed before, at a time when ratings/attendance has been on the decline and 90% of the prime time games over the last few years have been bad, Monday Night Football has been kinda dying along with ESPN's slow death, and all the stink over the kneeling for the anthem lingering, for these two teams to deliver like that in front of a packed house in the LA Coliseum and everything that city has been through this month, there is no denying that if it's not #1 it's at least a top 3 or top 5 game ever played in 99 year NFL history.

I'm not sure where you're getting that 90% stat from given that 14/23 Sunday and Monday games have been decided by less than one score. And ratings are not falling with any real significance - although you can cherry pick stats to "prove" anything you like - this week's TNF was the highest rated Thursday night game since 2016
The idea that the NFL "desperately" needed this game is pretty preposterous - the quality of the product this season has been great with so many close games. It's been one of the best years in NFL history for that, and this week was the best yet.

Yeah the idea that the NFL is in trouble with viewers or popularity is a bit silly - they've taken some dips here and there but they are far and away the biggest sport in America and still have incredible highs and people tuning in. I've seen the idea take off more post Kaepernick and it's generally people blaming the anthem stuff. They just want a reason to say their ideals are right.
Just like white , redneck America boycotting Nike - okay big guys - see if Nike cares.

I can't go that far. The officiating this season has been pure hot garbage and the rule changes some of the worst in league history

I can't go that far. The officiating this season has been pure hot garbage and the rule changes some of the worst in league history In terms of storylines , great games , a lot of the off the field stuff not being there and new star power - it’s been a great year for the NFL. Officiating has been shit , even in Monday’s games which I why I don’t buy the hype of it being the greatest game ever ... but this season is a huge win for the NFL.

Not sure if anyone has been following Aaron Rodgers lately....
He has started a help the wildfire fund by donating 1 million of his own money to help and is asking for others to help. State Farm will also be helping out. Sweet, right?
Not according to his brother. His brother responded to his video by putting Aaron Rodgers on blast for not calling his own parents who were evacuating from the wildfire to see if they’re okay. What a scumbag. Seems to me like Aaron Rodgers is lost in his own legend.

Was the refereeing that bad on Monday night? I've heard a lot of people complaining but I think there was really only one obvious error - that helmet to helmet penalty on Harris - but even that was fairly consistent with the way that rule has been called all season where the offensive player is never penalised even if he was the one who initiated the contact I've noticed American sports fans seem to equate a lot of refereeing as bad refereeing which I have never really understood. Why should they just stop applying the rules because the Chiefs were breaking them on practically every play to start the game?

I missed the first drive but I’m told there was an incredibly soft call on one of the passes that had Tony Dungy ripping the refs (amusing since his Colts made these penalties such a big point).
I did see these at least though -
Missed that a ball was tipped and called it PI. Chiefs fortunate you could challenge that. Also they called a timeout when Andy Reid was signaling the ball was tipped because they misinterpreted his hand signal but that’s neither here nor there. The helmet tackle Missed an obvious false start by Rams left tackle on the Jared Goff TD scramble Flagging Tyreke for something he’s done since he started in the league on taunting Not flagging Marcus Peters for pulling his helmet off on the field celebrating his INT.
Now it’s possible these kind of calls are missed frequently and honestly I know they swallowed their whistles on all but the most obvious of holding calls. Plus calling them an all star crew was bound to get extra scrutiny.

Whoops sorry it was the RT that clearly jumped offsides on the Goff TD. He also immediately held Dee Ford.
