Went to my first union meeting. Also agreed to do a trial run as a steward. God help me. The very beginnings of Ness' political career. Soon we will call you El Presidente.

There's a guy in this Training I'm in today that is a 'know-it-all'. Dude keeps interjecting his 'thoughts' he feels are value added to the discussion. They are not.
You can tell the trainer is annoyed. That's the best part of this course, watching the Trainer try not to tell this guy to STFU. Next time, don't tell people to interject where they feel they should. Be careful what you ask for.

I feel like many of your thoughts would be value added, his were just reiterating what the Trainer has already voiced or was about to. It was like 'dude he just said that' or the Trainer would be 'I was just getting to that'.

I am that guy... so so often I'm facilitating training tomorrow. Please don't show up. Because I'm with an Indigenous organization, lunch ALWAYS needs to be provided. I decided to order Greek because...I want Greek.

Be careful what you ask for. I know the feeling. Since the new owner took over we are now required to have Monday meetings just so we know (or so he knows) the status of the work in progress, what is on the way, and what are the hot jobs that need to be worked in. We have a know it all (not me) that has to put his 2 cents in on almost everything. It has become more than eye rolling annoying.

I hate that 10% of people who don't understand that " any questions. " is a statement (hence the period.) and not an invite for actual questions.
Like fuck me Julia, I've got a 3.5 hour drive home.

I'm going on training next week and if there is one of those guys in my class I am going to quit.
Last training I went on there was a guy from Las Vegas that wouldn't shut up about the huge casino job he worked on and how great he was for doing it. Like we all do the same job, bro. We know you spent 90% of your time in front of a laptop while electricians and engineers did most of the grunt work. Just because you got your programming right doesn't make you special. Congrats on doing your job properly. Shut the fuck up so I can leave on time today and get drunk.

If you are interviewing in the US, and do not ask a question, you are likely not getting the job. Execs claims that it shows a lack of curiosity or intelligence.

My employers and I have a standing agreement. They don’t invite me to training meetings, and i keep quiet. There have been a few bumps in the road over the years. But once you get your bosses trained it’s not much of a problem.
Oh I watch the videos the send out and read the emails, and the manual of new equipment. I do training I just don’t do groups. Cause everyone else is simply wrong all the time and it gets tiring having to explain it them. And I’m sure they get tired of hearing it. So let’s just agree to stay out of each others way so I can paid, and you can continue to overwork and underpay the rest of the kids and tell them all their extra hard work is cause we’re family…. Man I’m really off the rails here… this is some good shit 420ed today…

Man I’m really off the rails here… this is some good shit 420ed today… I used to have my bosses trained and we had the same understanding: Don't want Ashlynn to open up her mouth and say something you don't want her to, leave her behind to man the phones and emails. It worked for everyone, but all of a sudden I had no choice. I was told to sit between my two mangers and not say a word. This also worked for me because as All34LOL said, it's damned tiring having to explain to management all the ways they are fucking up or helping my co-workers read between the lines. Now they make me attend via TEAMS and honestly, I just don't care enough to say anything and wish no one else did either except the one running the fucking meeting/training so we can get it over with. To me 95% of meetings/trainings are a waste of time. Oh, he had no questions. Just liked to throw his 2 cents in ALL THE TIME. Like dude if you want to be the course instructor apply for it or STFU. He lives and works in Winnipeg. Heads up Foos . Ugh, Winnipeggers are the worst. Right?!

I test okay with IQ and EQ but I really need to work on my political intelligence. I have been reading the laws of power by Robert Greene and have realised how much of an idiot I am. All my life I have operated on the principal that if you sincerely do your best, that's what matters... lately I have been reflecting on how many opportunities I have lost and damaged by accidentally showing people up or not being on my tip toes around their fragile egos.
Same as with training or whatever, I have poor impulse control, I have a pathological inability to see things fail if I can avoid it.

Would it make you a bad person if you looked in to turning in a coworker that might have warrants? I mean if they really pissed you off. Asking for a friend.

Snitches get Stitches. My daughter's (6 and 10) have that memorized... Don't be telling me tales on your sister or your friends. I also tried to teach them that sharing is for losers, which the repeat like it is a joke when people ask them... I blame my wife for their sense of decency.

It's amazing how little people care about mental health issues.
As people may-or-may not know recently a coworker of mine, a good one at that who always made time to talk to me to make sure I was settled into my job role, took his own life. It was a tremendously sad affair, how it happened, and workers still wondering why he has done it, and if they could have prevented it..or on the flip side attributed towards it. This worker was as deep as the ocean, kept everything close to his chest, and rarely discussed private matters to workers. Our exchanges were purely about greetings, and asking how our working day went..nothing monotonous.
As you can imagine working at a hospital, this will have a MASSIVE effect on every member of staff regardless of role, initially it was not to sound too harsh..great that everyone was finally speaking to staff regardless of their job title with respect, ad some discussing their own mental health struggles. I have my own, but I keep them disclosed to myself, which I understand is counterproductive of talking about MH, but I've found majority of the time , people don't usually want to listen to me or my issues, due to my perceived mannerisms (if that is the correct word to use) because of my disability.
Then after the lads funeral, everything went back to...what was before, and as if nothing had happened, and those in higher positions than our own treating us like dirt, as if they had a disregard for mental health of workers. Their attitude stinks towards workers like myself (Porters) , but I can guarantee you regardless of the amount of qualifications those people have, they sure as hell don't have the knowledge for simple stuff such as how to turn on a syringe driver. These people say they're the ones that care, but show little-to-no regard for others MH. Not too sure if It's to do with the amount of MH patients we have through our ED department now.
I don't know if I am rambling for rambling’s sake, but it pisses me off.....

Dude I'm having some 4d chess big brain activity on unions and why things go the way they do. Like some real world chicken or egg situation here. If it's helpful to know, they are waging an ideological battle the actual outcome for workers matters little to them. Most unionists are socialists and it's sad that people don't realise why that is a problem.

Most union members / sympathisers are born trouble makers and problematic people who use the threat of a union to protect themselves for being held responsible for their usually piss poor attitudes and terribly self serving ways.
" I'm calling the union " is rarely muttered by a kind natured, rational human being.

" I'm calling the union " is rarely muttered by a kind natured, rational human being. I think they're a necessary evil, but definitely evil. I feel I'm qualified to say that, I was a paid up ETU member for around a decade before I lost the faith. I went from trade union Labor party voter to free market capitalist.
