I know When Harry Met Sally is arguably the most beloved RomCom of all time , and has some iconic moments that even I instantly recognize despite never actually seeing the movie. I know I should , I love romcoms and this is the standard bearer but I've just never felt the urge.
I obviously know the orgasm scene , I think it's a contender for most iconic movie images/scenes countdown in the future. I know the entire speech from Scrubs from when Turk was supposed to write his own vows for Carla , forgot , asked her brother for help and he wrote down the entire speech from Harry in this movie. Hilarious.

I'm not a terribly big romcom guy, so I've never seen this one. I can count the number of romcom I truly love with one hand.

Guys, this is less RomCom than just straight up pure good movie. Highly recommend it. If you have Showtime, I think you can stream it for free right now. Definitely worth the watch. Very glad this made the list. Worried it wouldn't make it, and after a recent rewatch debated making it my #1.

When Harry Met Sally was a family rental when it was released and that was the only time I've seen it. Not a romcom guy either.

Well, I mean...if a Billy Crystal movie is going to make the list I guess it should be that one.

Are there any scenes sides the orgasm one that are memorable. Everyone knows it. Iconic and all that but is it a one scene wonder? Asking as someone who's never seen it...

When Harry Met Sally was my number two. It’s a terrific movie that really set a template for movies like it going forward.
But I really enjoy Billy Crystal, so that really works for me. I can see not enjoying him.

I've never seen Father of the Bride - so we're two for two as of now. Truth by told - I've never really been a fan of Steve Martin in anything I've seen him in aside from Planes , Trains and Automobiles and that's mainly because John Candy was the perfect foil for him. I hated The Jerk aside from the absurd opening and a bunch of his new stuff really sucked so it always kind of turned me off to him.

Only Steve Martin movie I even considered was The Three Amigos.

You guys are the fucking worst.
I'll admit Steve Martin can be a bit of an acquired taste, and I've either never seen or didn't like The Jerk (can't remember), but he's a taste worth acquiring more often than not.
Father of the Bride (and the sequel) are both worth the watch. Despite however I ranked them on my list, I'd recommend watching When Harry Met Sally before Father of the Bride. But Father of the Bride is good enough it gets a high recommendation too.
Best Steve Martin movie of all time though IMO is It's Complicated. So good.

Steve Martin was brilliant in Planes Trains and Automobiles and I agree the rest of his filmography is pretty thin. Never had the urge to see Father Of The Bride.

Father of the Bride (and the slightly worse sequel) are must watches for me every time they’re on tv. It slotted in at number five on my list. I’m glad pi and I are on the same wavelength to get these two on the list.
I’m not a big Steve Martin guy, I like these two movies and Planes Trains and Automobiles but his humor mostly has one trick so too much of him doesn’t work. But Father of the Bride is well worth the watch, even better now as a father of a girl.

I haven't seen any of these movies so far, but Parenthood was one of those movies my family must have watched dozens of times growing up.
I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up. Considering how often it was played on TV, I assumed it was an institution.

I guess the only thing that would entice me to watch it is the fact that I have a daughter and mikec says it resonates more even now with him for that reason. I could see myself laughing at a ton of those kind of jokes - since I already make them. I'm still not sold on Martin though , unless it's PT&A - a movie that I hope comes up soon so we can really get into it.

It doesn't have the same Martin Short loophole as FotB, right?
