I've been banging the drum for since for years. Boggles my mind how the idiots refuse to change the system. Tired of teams hiding in their division for easy wins because that's what it is. In baseball the Indians hid in a joke division while the Yanks and Rays banged in a tough division that produced the world champions and the former had a one game playoff that they won in blowout fashion and the other had a strong year that gets them in with any other division.
I banged the drum when the Jets missed the playoffs at 10-6 three seasons ago and I will Bang the drum again over this. I'd be more upset for the chargers but they have zero home field advantage and if anything opposing fans pack their stadium.
Zero logic goes into playoff placement in sports. "Win your division" is some of the worst debate one can use. Teams hide in their division all the time for wins in sports. Get the best fucking teams in if you want to showcase the best of the best, not that hard.
This is as bad as not having head to head tiebreaker applied for draft position. Niners beat Raiders head to head so why would Oakland pick after SF? SF proved they were the better team and head to head gets cadence in playoff tiebreaker so be consistent.

Yeah but the AFC also sucks more towards the top and teams generally have an easier schedule - resulting in the better record. Where as the NFC is beating the shit out of each other. The Chiefs and lesser the Pats are the only two teams that belong at the top of the conference.
The Rams , Saints , Bears and even Cowboys are great-really good teams. And the Seahawks seem to be coming on really strong , at least defensively.
I'd probably take the top three over the third best team in the AFC , and I'd take the other two over anyone else in the AFC not named the Chiefs/Patriots/Chargers.

I don’t mind the playoff system. Just win in the playoffs, if you’re the Chargers. Hiding in their division is what gave us a great playoff moment in Beast Mode. They went into the playoffs with a losing record and knocked off a Super Bowl favorite in New Orleans.
Handle your shit.
I also think Minny will hold on to that 6 seed and I wouldn’t mind a Part 3 of Minnesota and Chicago. They are paying Cousins for games like that.

Seahawks got awarded a home game in a piped stadium for noise, if the Saints got the home game who knows what happens. There can be plenty of great moments played in every stadium. If you beat up on your weak teams in the division and can't beat other squads elsewhere then you aren't best of the best, you just take advantage of the situation.

But that’s anything in life when it comes to competition. Lebrons dominance in the East, hands your dealt in Holdem, not making the Playoff 4 because you have weak scheduling throughout the season. Which by the way, contradicts your argument if you think they deserve a playoff spot over Oklahoma. You just got to handle your business no matter what situation you’re in.

Hiding in the division also gave us the 2011 Giants as SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!!! So I'm definitely with Kid on this one. Handle your business in the playoffs and you don't have to worry about it.

Actually I’d guess the Chargers-Bears on a neutral field would be a tossup. Otherwise your arguments just come off more as conference homerism, which is weirdly a thing. The Cowboys have been on a good run, but to call them great is a stretch and while I think a top 3 versus 3 thing does lean this year more towards the NFC, it’s a pretty slight lean. Overall both conferences have a small peak, a really broad middle pack, and shallow bottoms of terrible teams. There isn’t a big enough difference between them to really consider a schedule issue on conference. Division sure, but the conferences line up fairly well. Aside from that it all is time sensitive. Neither the Cowboys or Seahawks would have been in a convo of five best NFC teams a month ago and the Steelers/Chargers at 3/4 would’ve both been better than the 3rd team in the NFC. A month from now the NFC could be a shit show with Jared Goff turning into a pumpkin for all we know.
